Hi Robert,
I’ve been a healthy living activist for quite some time now and damn it, “I feel gooood!” I’m touching base with you to see if you’d be interested in interviewing me, the author of a recently released book called Healthyism – The Evolutionary Practice of Constructive Consciousness – with the subtitle “How to Improve Your Life AND Save The World!”.
To date, the book has supported and educated many people on becoming aware of what controls them and to make the connection between personal health and global health – and everything in between. Even though this book is being sold through many channels including Amazon its also available for free on Google.books. It’s free because this book (and others like it) needs to be shared around the world. I have placed a recent press release below for your perusal. If Patrick Timone or Robert Scott Bell or others at NNR see a fit please touch base. Love your shows and thanks for all that you do!
Healthy Regards,
Gary Drisdelle,

HEALTHY”I”SM BY GARY DRISDELLE
THINKING OUR WAY TO A HEALTHY LIFE & A HEALTHY PLANET
Many Canadians feel discouraged when they hear about global environmental problems, uncertain about what they can do.
In his just released book Healthyism (Kyjule Press: 2010), Gary Drisdelle provides a down-to-earth, practical approach to saving the planet. Rather than fret about what to do about the big problems, he says “the best thing people can do is become personally healthy.”
When enough people become personally healthy, the big picture will take care of itself.
Drisdelle’s theory emerged after 20 years as a fitness coach helping thousands of people establish healthy eating and exercise habits. The success of his fitness program stems from clients understanding his theory on how instincts and thought patterns influence healthy or unhealthy choices.
“When people understand what is going on in their mind,” he says, “they have an ability to replace unhealthy thoughts with healthy ones. On a personal level, ultimately they make good food and exercise choices, and become fit. Many of my clients also start being better partners and parents and neighbors.”
Drisdelle, who has operated wellness clinics for 15 years, noticed that most clients start out not only unfit, but also unhappy. Interestingly, he noticed that those who optimized their health also optimized their happiness. As happiness increased, people became nicer towards others and acted kindly in the community.
In his book he extrapolates this pattern, theorizing that when a widespread number of people optimize their personal health and consequently happiness, both will spill over into communities and greater care for the environment.
While his approach may sound utopian, it is not. The science of how thoughts and instincts shape our actions is well documented.
Drisdelle doesn’t believe people can best take care of the environment and social problems until they take care of their physical needs first. He likens his “I” approach – taking care of yourself first – to the same healthy approach you’d take if faced with an aircraft emergency – to help others you first need to put on your oxygen mask.
Becoming physically healthy is the starting point from which Drisdelle believes people become emotionally and spiritually healthy too.
Healthyism, an easy-to-read 324 page book that includes the same exercises and tools Drisdelle uses in his wellness practice, is filled with exercises that unravel why someone is destructive to themselves, others and the earth. The reader follows a series of proven steps that lead to developing positive habits of respect for self and others. The book also includes ways to turn each positive change into a long-lasting habit. The book retails for $20 CDN and is available at Amazon.ca and Amazon.com and at Healthyism.com. It is also available to the public for free full viewing at books.google.com.
Anyone who wants to have the best chance of changing the world needs to start by changing them self. Healthyism will help each of us do that.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Gary Drisdelle is a passionate coach and healthy living activist with a powerful ability to help people achieve personal health goals by simply changing their thinking. He’s appeared numerous times in Canadian media to share his gentle fitness approach, which requires no willpower. Having worked with the likes of Jeremy Irons, Richard Gere, hockey players Gary Roberts and Jeff O’Neil, and golf great Ian Leggatt, the key to his clients’ success is Gary’s ability to help them uncover the cause of their unhealthy thoughts that ultimately lead to unhealthy lifestyle choices. Once people shift their mindset in this area, they can identify unhealthy thinking in any area of their life. He wrote the book Healthyism to educate people on the connection between personal health and global health – and everything in between – and lead people to sustainable health.
