When little kids need to get a painful injection, music therapy can help them get through the procedure, a new study suggests. Children who received music therapy during a routine immunization visit were less stressed and better able to cope with the procedure than those who didn’t receive music therapy, and their parents were less stressed, too, the study found.
The debate over whether or not vaccines cause autism is far from over, with a new study recently presented at the International Meeting for Autism Research (IMFAR) in London, England, destroying the popular claim that any link between the two has been thoroughly debunked by science. Research conducted on baby macaque monkeys revealed that the typical U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) vaccine schedule indeed triggered autism symptoms in the vaccinated monkeys, while none of the unvaccinated monkeys developed the disorder.

Nigeria was declared polio-free last year, but two new cases were discovered last month among refugees in areas recently reclaimed from the extremist group Boko Haram. A third case was confirmed this month.
