It is flu shot season again and I (Brian Hooker, Ph.D., P.E.) am extremely concerned (understatement alert inserted here) for anyone that would consider getting one.  The CDC, AAP and state and local authorities/providers are pushing hard to make sure that pregnant women receive their mercury-laced flu shot in any trimester.  Not only is the vaccine ineffective (as reported by the prestigious Cochrane Review: http://summaries.cochrane.org/CD001269/vaccines-to-prevent-influenza-in-healthy-adults) but it is poison.  By the CDC’s own admission, pregnant women that receive just 16 micrograms of mercury via vaccines (the flu shot contains 25 micrograms) are up to 8 times more likely to have a child that regresses into autism spectrum disorder (Price et al. 2009, Abt Associates report for CDC, “Thimerosal and Autism,” Vol. 1).  In addition, buried in a CDC study on vaccine adverse events (Moro et al. 2011 Expert Rev Vaccines 11:911) is the statement that the H1N1 flu shot given to pregnant women during the 2009-2010 “influenza season” led to a 25-fold increase in miscarriages.  No flu shots, ever!
