Special Guest: Jon Rappoport! A regular contributor to the show, Jon joins us live for a special in-person report.
A federal appeals court on Wednesday upheld federal regulations that prevented a woman with a medical marijuana card from buying a firearm in Nevada, in a ruling that cited the government’s interest in preventing gun violence.
Whether raw milk is safe to drink has been a controversial issue for many years, particularly in countries with more nanny-state tendencies. However, a study published in early 2015 showed that babies given raw cow’s milk instead of ultra-high temperature (UHT) processed formula actually had a reduced risk of common infections, such as colds and ear infections.
Federal funds to combat the Zika virus are nearly exhausted and there will be no money to fight a new outbreak unless Congress approves more funding, the head of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday. The CDC had spent as of Friday $194 million of the $222 million it was given to fight the virus, said agency director Dr. Thomas Frieden, The New York Times reported.
Last weekend, Stanley lost more than 3 million bees — all 46 of her hives and her entire livelihood — when Summerville officials decided to aerially spray a small area of the town for Zika-carrying mosquitoes.
Usually, officials spray for mosquito control by truck and at night, when bees are in their hives and beekeepers can better protect them. But this time, the county decided to spray aerially, just after sunrise on Sunday. “There are ‘no spraying’ signs all over my property,” Stanley said. “But my bees were poisoned from the sky.” More importantly, we ALL need bees for our eco-system to survive. What were these officials thinking? Apparently, not much. Please go out and support your local honey manufacturers, it has great health benefits for you, but also helps our friends and neighbors keep the little guys that pollinate all our gardens happy and healthy.
Would you let your children play with knives? What about using them as an actual tool at an early age? In a fascinating “food for thought” piece, psychologists and anthropologists study the way young humans learn and are taught across cultures.
Hour 2~ Healing Liberty…
Have we come to a point in America where we need to be testing our own soil and water? Probably! Imagine getting a letter from a federal agency saying that your yard is exposing your children to an invisible poison that is known to decrease IQ. Then, you find out the agency tested for this toxic substance more than a year and a half ago, but the results are just now being delivered to you. And you learn that your 2-year-old shows blood-lead levels 6.6 times above the upper level of concern set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That nightmare is Shantel Allen’s reality. “It’s devastating,” Allen said. “I blame everybody who knew. Everybody that knew and didn’t inform us.”
Welp, what RSB and the Captain’s hubby have been saying for years is finally affecting the soap-makers of America. Stop following every sign in the bathrooms, and squirting every bottle of Purell you see sitting out, no matter how tempting it is. The chemicals present are messing with your skin, and your microbiome. Also, the tap water in most places is more contaminated than whatever your hands were just touching.
Say goodbye to those “antibacterial” soaps. The Food and Drug Administration says they do little or nothing to make soap work any better and said the industry has failed to prove they’re safe. Companies will have a year to take the ingredients out of the products, the FDA said. They include triclosan and triclocarban. Soap manufacturers will have an extra year to negotiate over other, less commonly used ingredients such as benzalkonium chloride.
Intensive care patients have a significant loss of helpful gut bacteria within days of entering the hospital, a new study finds. These bacteria help keep people well. Losing them puts patients at risk for hospital-acquired infections that may lead to sepsis, organ failure and even death, according to the researchers.
Hello Dr. Bell, I have what may seem like a non issue for people grappling with severe health issues but this is a real concern of mine. My hair is getting frighteningly sparse at my hair line in front. I take a one daily multi, daily mineral supplement plus additional selenium, chromium, silica and turmeric, milk thistle and chlorella daily from Choose to Be Healthy. I am female, 59 years old and so far have eluded the need to take any prescription medicine. Other than Hep C I am relatively healthy. Please advise as to anything I can take to help with this problem as it is very depressing to see this happening. Thank you for your time. Lori
Comment of the Day!
Thank you for the reminiscences of Gene Wilder. He was indeed one of the greats. I just want to add that I remember the phase of his life that he was the dear spousal companion of Gilda Radner, a “Saturday Night Live” original who was also a much-loved comic genius with a loony array of characters she portrayed. She died at a young age of ovarian cancer, and Gene faithfully stuck by her side, supporting her to the very end. I always loved and respected him for that as well.
New Australian research reaffirms the now established link between the brain and the gut, this time in patients suffering from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and other gastrointestinal disorders. The study suggests that anxiety could increase the risk of developing the condition by up to 50%. Conversely, two thirds of suffers reported gut troubles before the onset of anxiety symptoms.
A Japanese fisherman called upon his martial arts skills after being attacked by a large bear near a local river. According to The Straits Times, the 6-foot tall Asian black bear approached the man as he was fishing near the Jizo River on Thursday afternoon. The 63-year-old man, who holds a black belt in Karate engaged with the bear and managed to fend off its attack. “The bear had such, such great strength. I was knocked over when it leapt at me. It scratched me and bit me. But in the end I managed to trick the bear, poked it in the eyes and it ran away,” he said.
