RSB and Super D are taking this national day of gratitude off, but please enjoy this encore presentation of what is probably one of our favorite Thursday shows!
On this Thanksgiving Day we are thankful and grateful for YOU, our listeners! The Power To Heal Is Yours!
November 23, 7-9PM ET
Thursday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
It’s Time For The Sacred Fire of Liberty!
RSB and Jonathan Emord discuss the greatest threat to health freedom in America. No, not the FDA. That’s the second greatest threat. The #1 enemy to health freedom actually comes from the FTC. How is this possible? Tune in and prepare to be shocked!
Jonathan W. Emord is an attorney who practices constitutional and administrative law before the federal courts and agencies. Ron Paul calls Jonathan “a hero of the health freedom revolution” and says “all freedom-loving Americans are in [his] debt . . . for his courtroom [victories] on behalf of health freedom.” He has defeated the FDA in
federal court a remarkable eight times, seven on First Amendment grounds, and is the author of the Amazon bestsellers The Rise of Tyranny, Global Censorship of Health Information, and Restore the Republic. He is the American Justice columnist for U.S.A. Today Magazine and joins Robert Scott Bell weekly for “Jonathan Emord’s Sacred Fire of Liberty,” an hour long radio program on government threats to individual liberty. FDA PRESUMES ITSELF OMNISCIENT AND CONSUMERS IGNORANT Do you think you are
intelligent enough to decide for yourself the relative worth of scientific findings concerning the disease treatment and risk reduction effects of nutrients and foods? The FDA thinks you are not and that it must decide such questions for you in the first instance. Indeed, the FDA bans from the grocery store, the health food store, and online all commercial claims associating a food or nutrient with disease, regardless of whether the claims are supported by science. That broad prior restraint on speech contradicts the very premise of the First Amendment. As James Madison explained in defense of the First Amendment in his Virginia Resolutions aimed at challenging the Alien and Sedition Acts, while the law in Great Britain forbad prior restraints, the law of the United States as stated in the First Amendment went farther, forbidding the federal government not only from adopting prior restraints but also from banning speech after the fact.
FTC CENSORS “BIODEGRADABLE” CLAIMS In a recent deceptive advertising case brought by the FTC against ECM BioFilms, three of four FTC Commissioners (all Democrats) overruled FTC Administrative Law Judge D. Michael Chappell’s decision that ECM’s plastic additive did indeed cause conventional plastics to become intrinsically biodegradable and that ECM’s “biodegradable” claim was thus truthful. In so doing, the full Federal Trade Commission rejected the overwhelming weight of scientific evidence presented and adopted a new and unworkable national environmental rule, a rule that casts a pall of censorship over biodegradable claims and virtually ensures that pollutants in the form of biodegradation resistant conventional plastics will become far more common around the world. The new FTC rule is a prior restraint on speech that effectively bans the term “biodegradable” from the market. Far from protecting the public from deception, the new FTC rule creates a perverse economic disincentive to sell biodegradable products and exacerbates the problem of plastics pollution.
Hour 2 – Got Spirituality?
In today’s hour 2, RSB and Super D will dig deep into the topic of spirituality. What is it and when is it something else? Be prepared for an interesting and possibly controversial hour of discussion and exploration of just what exactly is spirituality!
10 “Spiritual” Things People Do That Are Total Bulls#*! No one ever told me spirituality could be a self-sabotaging ego trap. How could something that seemed so pure and good be harmful? The answer has to do with something that psychologists call spiritual bypassing. In the early 1980s, psychologist John Welwood coined the term “spiritual bypassing” to refer to the use of spiritual practices and beliefs to avoid confronting uncomfortable feelings, unresolved wounds, and fundamental emotional and psychological needs. According to integral psychotherapist Robert Augustus Masters, spiritual bypassing causes us to withdraw from ourselves and others, to hide behind a kind of spiritual veil of metaphysical beliefs and practices. He says it “not only distances us from our pain and difficult personal issues, but also from our own authentic spirituality, stranding us in a metaphysical limbo, a zone of exaggerated gentleness, niceness, and superficiality.”
1/ The person best equipped to think cooly and clearly about any given problem or question is the person who is, at root, agnostic about everything—i.e. the person who does not claim to know the Final Answers to any question.
2/ As soon as you commit absolutely to a single model or belief system in a given domain, you’re unable to see that domain with fresh eyes or through other lenses.
3/ When you commit to a single model or belief system in a given domain, your firm belief that you have found the Correct Viewpoint colors everything you encounter in that domain. Your overconfidence in your own view prevents you from really considering other data, values, and perspectives.
