What Doesn’t Fauci Want Us to Know? We May Soon Find Out Restriction of free speech excelled during the COVID-19 pandemic, when efforts to shut down public discussions and information that countered the official narrative were in full force. In the summer of 2022, a lawsuit was filed by the attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana against the federal government, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). The lawsuit alleges that the U.S. government colluded with Big Tech giants Twitter, Meta (Facebook), YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn to censor certain viewpoints by labeling them “misinformation” or “disinformation.” In September 2022, a federal judge ordered Fauci and other officials to turn over emails with five social media firms. Fauci initially refused, stating that the communications were protected by executive privilege. However, the judge ordered that the documents be turned over within 21 days nonetheless. Fauci was also ordered to answer questions posed by the plaintiffs in full. Mary Holland, president and general counsel of Children’s Health Defense, explained: “Up until now, Dr. Fauci has operated under this cloak of ‘untouchableness,’ thinking he has been above the law. He likely didn’t expect his emails to be made public. We can only imagine what this tranche of emails will likely reveal about Dr. Fauci’s bare-knuckled censorship — it won’t be pretty.”
Tribunals Would Introduce Dangers of their Own From the start I vigorously opposed COVID lockdowns and protested the hysteria that lures people to tolerate such tyranny. Although I wasn’t the most eloquent of lockdowns’ critics, I – like Scott Atlas, David Henderson, Phil Magness, Jeffrey Tucker, Toby Young and the team at the Daily Skeptic, and the heroic authors of the great Great Barrington Declaration – never wavered from this opposition. Not for a nanosecond did I as much as toy with the idea that lockdowns might be worthwhile. Every impulse within me, from my marrow to my mind, confidently informed me that lockdowns were destined to unleash Orwellian oppression, the terrible precedential consequences of which will plague (pun intended) humanity for decades. Given all that we’ve learned since early 2020, I’m sad to say that my – and the relative handful of others’ – opposition to lockdowns and other COVID diktats was fully justified. My blood still boils at the thought of lockdowns, and my anger at those persons who imposed them is as intense a sensation as I have ever experienced. It continues to be so. I relate my early, unequivocal, and unending opposition to lockdowns not to applaud myself. I do so, instead, to put into context the case that I’m about to make in opposition to any and all calls for attempts to impose formal liability or sanctions on those individuals who inflicted lockdowns on humanity, or who were prominently positioned to encourage their use. I believe that attempts to hold lockdowners personally accountable by imposing on them formal punishments would create yet another terrible precedent, one that would only compound the troubles that we’re destined to suffer from the precedent that was set in March 2020.
Does a sick gut microbiome let COVID-19 take hold, or does COVID-19 make your microbiome sick? The fields of science and medicine have yet to find some part or process of the human body that isn’t affected (usually adversely) by SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. We’re also learning that the microbiome of the gut influences the wellbeing of virtually every part and process of the human body. Some sort of still-mysterious biochemical composition (sometimes the word “balance” is applied) of the gut microbiome makes its influence favorable or unfavorable. One new study, at the New York University’s Grossman School of Medicine reports that infection with COVID-19 can encourage dangerous gut microbes to thrive. It is well-known that in recent decades, excessive or inappropriate use of antibiotics to fight infections with disease-causing bacteria has eliminated more-vulnerable bacterial species. Remaining are bacterial species which are more resistant to antibiotics. Gut bacterial ratios which deviate from ratios found in healthier individuals have also been linked to more severe infections with COVID-19. Previously, it has been unclear if illness was caused by COVID-19 disrupting the gut microbiome, versus a disrupted microbiome which is more vulnerable to the virus. The study reported here indicates that the virus disrupting the microbiome is the more common source of pathology. NYU investigators also discovered that the viral infection allowed antibiotic-resistant bacteria to enter the bloodstream. The ill patients were then at greater risk for life-threatening secondary infections with antibiotic-resistant bacterial species.
Pfizer Sinks $100 Billion in COVID Profits Into Developing — and Marketing — More Drugs For drugmaker Pfizer, a fortune amassed in the COVID-19 pandemic is now paving the path to pharma nirvana: a weight loss pill worth billions. The company has reaped nearly $100 billion from selling COVID-19 vaccines and treatments to U.S. taxpayers and foreign governments. With that windfall, it plans to get richer, sinking the cash into developing and marketing potential blockbusters for conditions like migraines, ulcerative colitis, prostate cancer, sickle cell disease and obesity. It just announced it will triple or even quadruple the price of its COVID-19 vaccine once it goes on the commercial market next year. Meanwhile, the company is inundating doctors and pharmacists — and consumers — with advertising touting its COVID-19 drug Paxlovid. “Pfizer is a remarkable marketing machine. They have an incredible ability to make the most of molecules and get them adopted,” said Timothy Calkins, a professor of marketing at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. The federal government is helping Pfizer with its marketing, urging people to get boosters targeting the Omicron variants, although early data has been mixed on whether the shots work better than the earlier version. But even with a 66% drop in COVID-19 vaccine sales in the past quarter, the company made about $4.4 billion in those three months. Pfizer has a deep stream of cash to finance its future. COVID-19 has been very good for business. The company appears most excited — judging from its messages to investors — about two experimental diabetes pills, “me too” drugs in the class known as GLP-1 agonists. As Pfizer competitors have already discovered, they double as weight-loss drugs.
Hour 2 ENCORE
Elite Fly 400 Private Jets to COP27, Sponsored by Largest Plastic Polluter in World, To Lecture YOU About Climate “The world is literally burning because of you,” according to the world’s elite who produce more pollution in a few hours than most people make all year. Currently in Egypt, the world’s elite are meeting at the international climate summit, COP27. Political leaders and billionaires from around the planet are gathering at the luxurious beach resort of Sharm el-Sheikh to pat themselves on the back for “fighting climate change.” In true elitist fashion, the hypocrisy at the event is palpable and on full display. The same folks who take to their podiums and constantly play the role of Chicken Little to blame humanity for the destruction of the planet are flying hundreds of private jets across the world to do so. A source with the Egyptian aviation authorities told AFP that “more than 400 private jets landed in the past few days in Egypt.” “There was a meeting ahead of COP27, and officials were expecting those jets and made some arrangements in Sharm el-Sheikh airport to welcome those planes,” the source said. The average private jet emits roughly 2 metric tons of carbon for every 60 minutes of flight. To put this into perspective, these same people flying on these jets want you to leave only a 2-metric ton carbon footprint for the entire year. Given that these folks likely spent many hours in the air to make it to the summit, they single-handedly emitted more carbon in 24 hours than many folks will emit in the next decade. And they did so — to lecture you about how you are making the world “literally burn.”
