Wednesday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
Ibuprofen and aspirin could help treat major depression, scientists find Anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and aspirin can battle major depression effectively and could be a safer alternative than antidepressants, a major new study suggests. More than one in six British adults – around 7.3 million people – take antidepressants but the drugs do not work for around 30 per cent, and can bring side-effects such as nausea, insomnia, weight gain and even suicidal thoughts. Now an analysis of 30 studies involving 1,610 people has concluded that NSAIDS (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) were 79 per cent more effective at fighting major depression than a placebo. Researchers at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China, who carried out the analysis concluded that ‘anti-inflammatory agents show promising effects’ and called for long-term follow ups.
Depression linked to common drugs such as ibuprofen A third of Americans are taking medication that can cause depression. That’s according to a study in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Some 200 prescription meds could lead to depression. But, it’s the really common drugs that may surprise you. We are talking about common drugs you probably have at home such as ibuprofen, Prilosec, allergy meds such as Zyrtec and birth control pills. The study published in JAMA shows blood pressure medication, steroids, heartburn meds, allergy and birth control pills could affect your mood. Krista Schonrock, Medical Director at Select Health which is a health plan associated with Intermountain Healthcare says the more drugs you take on the list, the higher the risk of depression. “For example, you’re skiing you hurt your knee. It’s not terrible so you say I’ll take some ibuprofen it will get better. Maybe the ibuprofen upsets your stomach. So you take omeprazole to help with the ibuprofen. Now you have two medicines that are on the list that could increase your risk for depression. And you’ve changed your activity level that could increase your risk for depression so you’ve got 3 factors against you,” Schonrock.
Question of The Day!
Love the show! I’m just after some guidance. After Ive had my children my health has declined. My bowel health is terrible. I have a 5hr transit time from eating. Nothing I do changed that whether going paleo or autoimmune protocol or raw or whole foods plant based. I have thyroid dysfunction as well. I have bad bacteria overgrowth in my large bowel and have bloating etc. Im assuming I have adrenal fatigue with my constant lack of sleep with young children and thyroid dysfunction. I was mostly raw with my second pregnancy but got sick again after I had my little boy. I get fatigue and my nerves in my arms and legs feel all tingly and weak. I know I have deficiencys due to poor absorption of food and rapid bowel transit time. Im currently on remag, remyte and recal, puradyme enzymes, b vitamins, vit c, and msm. Im on a whole foods plant based diet atm. I soak grains when i do eat them. Stick to green juices and smoothies. I eat alot of fruit and sweet potatoes and salad. I started the silver aloe protocol 5 days ago and the last three days I’ve had burning sensations on my scalp face and different parts of my body. It can get intense the burning feeling. I was doing the 1 ounce of each but thinking that because I weigh less than 120 it was to much? I have stopped the silver and aloe to see if that was causing it and it has subsided. Why would it do that? Is it something I have to put up with and that it will go away with time. I also wasnt taking any probiotics and Im waiting for them to arrive in the mail. Im at a loss. I assume my detox pathways are blocked. Im so desperate to recover and have a healthy life but the more I eat fresh fruits and vegetables the worse I get. I think its because of my gut and the poor absorption and due to fruits and vegetable being low in calories my body just doesnt get enough. When I eat loads and loads of sprouted nuts and seeds I feel better. But I dont want to do keto as my liver is congested. Any guidance on what to expect while doing the silver aloe protocol would be so appreciated. I was afraid I was stressing my body too much and my nerves where “on fire”. I’m still breastfeeding my little one as well.
Special Guest John Bush
John Bush began his career in activism in 2002 questioning the official account of what happened on 9/11 and speaking out against the wars in the Middle East. He was introduced to libertarianism by the good Dr. Ron Paul in 2007. As he learned of anarchism and agorism he focused his energies on promoting alternative institutions like cryptocurrency and mutual aid groups. His interest in natural health led him to discover kratom, a natural remedy which he sells through his company Brave Botanicals. As of late he has been promoting self-growth and entrepreneurial strategies and helping people overcome addiction.
Kratom is a member of the coffee family and is made from the powderized leaves of the kratom evergreen tree. Grown in Southeast Asia, kratom has been used for centuries by laborers for energy, pain relief, and relaxation. Kratom is growing in popularity in the West for chronic pain, stress and anxiety, overcoming addiction, and more.
Kratom comes in a powder form and can be taken as a tea, mixed with water or juice, or taken in capsules.
There are countless people who use kratom regularly and many report that it has helped to no longer be dependent on opioids, opiates, and other pharmaceuticals.
After seeing this plant change people’s lives, it is our duty to help as many people as we can discover it’s magic.

Hour 2 – Outside The Box With Ty Bollinger!
It’s time to go Outside The Box again with Ty Bollinger! What will we be talking about today?
Whooping cough outbreak among vaccinated in California: LA Times Many U.S. government and health officials have avoided addressing rising incidences of infectious disease outbreaks among vaccinated children. These officials choose instead to stay on the vaccine industry narrative of heaping blame on those who are partly vaccinated or unvaccinated. By failing to tackle the issue at hand– vaccines that are not providing the expected immunity– some health experts say the problem only stands to grow worse. One of the most recent cases from this past March comes from Los Angeles, California. A private high school there reports nearly 50 students came down with whooping cough (pertussis), even though they were all vaccinated. According to the Los Angeles Times, none of the students at the school with vaccine exemptions contracted the disease even though they had not received a whooping cough/pertussis shot.
Facebook will now remind you to get flu shots and medical checkups Facebook is now going to start reminding you when to get a medical checkup. The company is rolling out a tool to remind its users in the U.S., based on demographic factors such as age and gender, to get a screening or health test. The company is making this move, according to Freddy Abnousi, a cardiologist who runs Facebook’s health efforts, because research from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other research groups has shown that millions of people don’t take evidence-based preventive steps to take care of their health. Abnousi shared the details of the initiative on Monday. Facebook’s new tool, called Preventive Health, is searchable via the mobile app. Users can find out which checkups, such as mammograms or cholesterol tests, are recommended for them. Facebook will also proactively nudge its users to get flu shots at the time of year when they’re most likely to work, as well as find nearby locations such as grocery stores and pharmacies where they’re available.
Why Does The Flu Shot Hurt So Much? If you got your flu shot recently, your arm likely felt as though it had been sucker punched in the days afterward. (And if you haven’t received the vaccine yet, here’s your friendly PSA to stop putting it off.) While that soreness shouldn’t be a reason you don’t get a flu shot ― because again, you really should go get one if you haven’t yet ― it turns out there are a few factors that influence whether or not your flu shot may cause discomfort in the day or two after getting one. “The flu shot is made to produce an immune response, so soreness is a sign that it’s working,” Nate Favini, the medical lead at Forward, told HuffPost. “Your body has an inflammatory response, and that’s what gives you immunity against the flu.” This soreness also means that your immune system is making antibodies in response to the virus it was just injected with, which protects you from the actual flu if you become exposed to it. But if you don’t feel sore after your flu shot, that doesn’t necessarily mean you got a dud injection or that your flu shot isn’t working. You may have a higher pain threshold than you realize, or perhaps you were relaxed while getting your shot (Favini said it can hurt more if you tense your arm muscles during the shot).
Jeffrey Epstein’s autopsy more consistent with homicidal strangulation than suicide, Dr. Michael Baden reveals The body of disgraced money man and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in his Manhattan federal prison cell in August, bore telltale signs of homicide despite an official ruling that he killed himself, a pioneering forensic pathologist revealed to “Fox & Friends” in an exclusive interview Wednesday. The bombshell claim by Dr. Michael Baden, a former New York City medical examiner who has worked on high-profile cases during a five-decade medical career, is certain to reignite suspicions that surfaced immediately after Epstein, who was awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges involving underage girls, was discovered dead in his cell on Aug. 10. Baden, who was hired by Epstein’s brother and observed the autopsy, told Fox News its findings are more consistent with homicidal strangulation than suicidal hanging. He noted that the 66-year-old Epstein had two fractures on the left and right sides of his larynx, specifically the thyroid cartilage or Adam’s apple, as well as one fracture on the left hyoid bone above the Adam’s apple, Baden told Fox News.
Money, Lies, and the Collapse of Big Pharma Major pharmaceutical companies have been putting profits before patients for far too long. And while some companies still seem to be beating the system, others are finally being held accountable. In today’s news, we’re going to give you an update on a few stories we’ve been following for some time now, and how the greed and lies of big pharma are finally coming to light. First, Johnson & Johnson finds themselves in even more trouble with new discoveries about asbestos contamination and over $100 million in settlements over their surgical mesh. The company was not the only one to lose big bucks as several major players in the opioid crisis made last-minute settlements to avoid trial. Finally, more evidence has been found proving that Zantac may be causing cancer, forcing manufacturers and distributors to completely remove it from store shelves.
