Newly Sworn In Alberta Premier Danielle Smith Says Unvaxxed People the ‘Most Discriminated Against Group that I’ve Ever Witnessed in my Lifetime’ Alberta’s new Premier, Marlaina Danielle Smith, who took office on Tuesday, promised to stand against the federal government in Ottawa and called vaccine requirements an “unacceptable” form of discrimination in her first news conference. During a ceremony held in Edmonton, the provincial capital, Smith was sworn in as the 19th Premier of Alberta. She is the third woman to hold the position in the province’s history. Later this month, the new Premier will choose her cabinet members, and among them will be someone to take Dr. Deena Hinshaw’s place as Alberta’s chief medical officer of health. On her first day in office, Smith described those people who refused to get vaccinated as the most discriminated against group she had ever seen. The community that faced the most restrictions on their freedoms in the last year were those who made a choice not to be vaccinated. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a situation in my lifetime where a person was fired from their job, or not allowed to watch their kids play hockey, or not allowed to go visit a loved one in long-term care or hospital, or not allowed to go get on a plane to either go across the country to see family or even travel across the border.

Doctors seeing resistance to blood transfusions over unfounded COVID vaccine concerns Alberta physicians are raising the alarm about a dangerous trend — fuelled by misinformation — that could cost lives. Dr. Stephanie Cooper, an obstetrician specializing in high-risk births at Foothills Medical Centre, said a patient recently refused to consent to a blood transfusion if it came from a donor who had received the COVID-19 vaccine. “I see people with severe hemorrhage due to childbirth on a regular basis. And for me, the idea that this is out there is somewhat mind-boggling.” It came up in a routine conversation while she was counselling the patient before a C-section. The patient did not end up needing a blood transfusion. Shocked by what she’d encountered, Cooper shared her experience on Twitter and was inundated with responses, including from other health-care providers who reached out with similar stories. “I’m quite concerned about it,” she said, noting Canada’s blood supply does not register the COVID vaccination status of donors. “There isn’t a choice to receive COVID vaccine-negative blood. So by declining blood, it means you will die.”

Just don’t tell the ‘medical experts’ at Moderna… This week, the vaccine maker officially announced it has developed a ‘cure’ for the tyrannical medical-industrial complex’s latest manufactured health crisis. In the wake of all of the cardiac-related death and sickness caused by the first iterations of the experimental mRNA vaccine, Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel revealed the company’s new treatment for heart attacks – another mRNA injection! This time, however, instead of going into your arm, it will be shot directly into the heart muscle… For maximum damage effect, of course.

A case in point was the revelation that JK Rowling, a darling of the progressive Left for decades, has consistently refused to bend the intellectual knee to the holy mantra of “transwomen are women”. What is worse, even thousands of rape threats and attacks on her and her friends, were, inexplicably, unsuccesful in enticing Rowling back to the side of kindness and compassion.

FDA warns of Adderall shortage The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) posted news of an Adderall shortage this week, warning that manufacturers will not be able to meet the U.S. market demand at the current rate of production. While several manufacturers are still producing and supplying Adderall and its generic variants, major pharmaceutical companies are currently dealing with issues affecting their production, said the FDA in its notice. Adderall — the brand name for mixed amphetamine salts — is a drug commonly prescribed for ADHD and narcolepsy. The FDA said in its notice that “alternative therapies” for these conditions were available and advised that patients speak with a health care professional on what the best treatment plan would be. Teva Pharmaceuticals, the largest U.S. supplier of Adderall, has been dealing with an ongoing supply disruptions since at least August. The FDA on Wednesday said the company was “experiencing ongoing intermittent manufacturing delays.” Rhodes Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Purdue Pharma, is experiencing a shortage of its 5 mg bottles of 100 tablets of Adderall. The reason for the lack of availability cited in the FDA’s post is “shortage of active ingredient.”

Our Kids’ (Legal) Drug Problem Teens are being prescribed drugs for anxiety, depression, and other mental health disorders at alarming rates with little concern for the serious side effects. Statistics on polypharmacy—the use of multiple medications—usually deal with older Americans. For example, we know that 44 percent of men and 57 percent of women older than 65 years take five or more medications; 12 percent take 10 or more medications per week. While this isn’t exactly good news, it isn’t all that shocking: older people tend to have more health problems, and our medical system uses drugs to deal with those problems. But what is shocking is the rise of polypharmacy among teens, particularly teens starting antipsychotic treatment. That our nation’s young people are prescribed multiple mind-altering medications with little regard for the long-term effects of these drugs is deeply troubling. A recent New York Times piece profiled a young woman who, by the time she graduated high school in 2021, was taking seven drugs, including one for seizures and migraines prescribed off-label for its mood stabilizing effects, a schizophrenia drug also prescribed off-label to dull the side effects of the other medications, and not one, but two antidepressants.

High levels of toxic chemical found in sports bras, watchdog warns New testing on a variety of popular branded sports bras and athletic wear has revealed high levels of BPA, a chemical compound that’s used to make certain types of plastic and can lead to harmful health effects such as asthma, cardiovascular disease and obesity. Sports bras sold by Athleta, PINK, Asics, The North Face, Brooks, All in Motion, Nike, and FILA were all tested for BPA in the past six months, and the results showed the clothing could expose wearers to up to 22 times the safe limit of BPA, based on standards set in California, according to the Center for Environmental Health. The CEH, which conducted the testing, is a non-profit consumer advocacy group focused on exposing the presence of toxic chemicals in consumer products. Under California law — specifically Proposition 65, enacted in 1986 — the maximum allowable dose level for BPA via skin exposure is 3 micrograms per day. The group also tested athletic shirts from brands that included The North Face, Brooks, Mizuno, Athleta, New Balance, and Reebok and found similar results. The CEH said Wednesday it has sent legal notices to the companies, which will have 60 days to work with the center to remedy the violations before the group files a complaint in California state court requiring them to do so.

WHO calls for more international aid to prevent Ebola from spreading beyond Uganda The World Health Organization is working with Uganda to prevent a deadly Ebola outbreak in the East African nation from spreading to neighboring countries, the global health agency’s chief said on Wednesday. Health authorities in Uganda have identified 74 confirmed and probable cases of Ebola across five districts, according to the WHO. At least 39 people have died from the disease and 14 others have recovered from the disease. More than 660 people who were possibly exposed to the virus are under active follow-up. “Our primary focus now is to support the government of Uganda now to rapidly control and contain this outbreak, to stop it from spreading to neighboring districts and neighboring countries,” WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said during a global health update in Geneva on Wednesday. Uganda declared an outbreak of Ebola in late September after a person from a village in the central region of the country tested positive for the virus. There are no licensed vaccines or treatments for the strain that caused the outbreak, called Sudan ebolavirus. Ebolavirus does not spread through airborne transmission. People catch the disease through direct contact with bodily fluids of a person who has fallen ill or died from the virus. It can also spread through contact with contaminated materials and infected animals.

Most U.S. Voters Want Products Free of Harmful Chemicals: Poll Do the majority of Americans want government to make sure the products they buy are free of harmful chemicals? Yes, a new survey shows, and they are even willing to pay more to get that assurance of safety. “At a time when most issues are politically polarized, the issue of keeping people safe from harmful chemicals finds widespread agreement among Democrats, Republicans and Independent voters,” said Celinda Lake, president of Lake Research Partners, which conducted the poll. The Program on Reproductive Health and the Environment (PRHE) at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), commissioned the survey. More than 90% of those polled wanted the U.S. government to require products to be screened for harmful chemicals and proven safe before market approval. The survey, conducted between May 25 and June 5, gathered 1,200 responses from registered American voters. “People assume that what they buy is safe, and that almost always isn’t the case,” said Tracey Woodruff, a professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences who directs the PRHE at UCSF. “The good news is this survey reveals overwhelming support for the government to do a better job of protecting people from harmful chemicals.”
