FDA to propose yearly COVID vaccines like annual flu shots for Americans The Food and Drug Administration on Monday proposed approaching COVID-19 vaccines like the annual flu shot many Americans receive in order to protect against mutations of the virus. The proposal aims to simplify future vaccination efforts. Under this strategy, most adults and children would get a once-a-year shot to protect against the mutating virus. They would no longer have to keep track of how many shots they’ve received or many months it’s been since their last booster. In documents posted online, FDA scientists say many Americans now have “sufficient preexisting immunity” against the coronavirus because of vaccination, infection or a combination of the two.  That baseline of protection should be enough, the agency says, to move to an annual booster against the latest strains in circulation and make COVID-19 vaccinations more like the yearly flu shot. The FDA will also ask its panel to vote on whether all vaccines should target the same strains. That step would be needed to make the shots interchangeable, doing away with the current complicated system of primary vaccinations and boosters.

The Newest Contraband at the Mexican Border: Eggs From California to Texas, border agents are increasingly seizing a surprising type of contraband from Mexico: eggs. U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents had more than 2,000 encounters with people trying to bring eggs into the United States from Mexico between Nov. 1 and Jan. 17, an agency spokesman said. In the same 11-week period a year earlier, there were about 460 such encounters. The rise comes as the price of eggs in the United States has surged, driven in part by an outbreak of avian influenza, or bird flu, that was detected last February. Roger Maier, the Customs and Border Protection spokesman, said in an email on Tuesday that the agency had noted an increase in people attempting to bring eggs to the United States from Mexico, where “they are significantly less expensive.” The 2,002 encounters involving eggs that occurred between Nov. 1 and Jan. 17 were reported by field offices in San Diego; Tucson, Ariz.; Laredo, Texas; and El Paso, and they do not represent the total number of eggs seized. The biggest increase was in San Diego, where the encounters jumped to 1,077 from 230, an increase of 368 percent. Mr. Maier did not say how many eggs were seized in these encounters. In an email, he said that “this is not necessarily smuggling but rather increased encounters of people traveling with eggs.”

Egg Crisis Sparks Soaring Interest In Backyard Farms Covid supply-chain snarls turned millions of Americans into “preppers” overnight. The run on toilet paper, food, guns, ammunition, and other essential items for survival pushed millions to consider preparedness for a crisis. Remember all those old-school preppers? The media used to refer to them as “extreme” and even called them “tin-foil hat conspiracy” folks, but during the shutdowns, those folks were right, and the mainstream media got it wrong. The next shortage underway is eggs. Readers have seen our notes on supermarkets nationwide running out of eggs. The egg shortage is so severe that last week the US Customs and Border Protection reported that egg smuggling from Mexico erupted. And why is that? Well, a dozen Grade A eggs in the US have topped $4.25 at supermarkets. In Mexico, a 30 count of eggs is about $3.40. US egg prices have topped the national average gasoline per gallon price at the pump. As a result of the egg crisis, internet search trends on Google show Americans are panic searching where to find egg-laying hens for their backyard.

Hour 2 – Outside The Box With Ty Bollinger!

It’s time to go Outside The Box again with Ty Bollinger! What will we be talking about today?

COVID Propaganda and Its Threat to Democracy In the video below, initially published in August 2021, professor Piers Robinson, Ph.D. — co-director of the Organization for Propaganda Studies, whose research specialty is organized persuasive communication and contemporary propaganda — speaks to Asia Pacific Today about propaganda in the age of COVID-19. As noted by Robinson, COVID-19 is unquestionably the largest, most sophisticated propaganda operation in history. Psychological techniques were extensively used during 2020 to incite fear and panic in the population, while other persuasion strategies were used to get people to support and defend COVID-19 measures such as masking, isolation, social distancing, lockdowns and jab mandates. Indeed, propaganda is what allowed for draconian and unscientific COVID-19 measures to be implemented in the first place. Without propaganda and simultaneous censorship of opposing views, little of what we’ve been through would have been possible. As noted by Robinson, while the use of state propaganda could initially be justified as a necessary means to achieve a public health objective — protecting people from COVID-19-related illness and death — it quickly became apparent that this was not the case, and likely never was. Today, three years in, it’s quite evident that COVID-19 is a psychological operation. For example, since 2022 at the latest, COVID-19 has been nothing more than another endemic respiratory infection, much like the common cold, yet the pandemic has not been declared “over.” We now also have clear evidence that the COVID-19 jabs don’t prevent infection or spread of the virus, which negates the entire premise for vaccine passports, yet they’re being pushed anyway. In short, COVID-19 was (and still is) a means to an end; to suspend and strip us of Constitutional rights and civil liberties, and to further social, political and financial restructuring objectives outside democratic processes.

More people willing to get vaccinated when they know others plan to get one, international survey says One of the largest international surveys ever conducted shows people are more willing to get the COVID-19 vaccine when told how many others in the community plan to get one, UT-Austin said in a news release Tuesday. “Our study shows that accurate information about what most other people are doing can substantially increase intentions to accept a COVID-19 vaccine,” said Avinash Collis, co-author and assistant professor of information, risk and operations management in the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas. “But once people know that the majority has already received or are going to get the vaccine, they feel safer to get the vaccine.” The global survey was conducted as a joint effort with UT Austin, MIT’s Initiative on the Digital Economy, the World Health Organization, Johns Hopkins University and Meta, the release said. Collis said Facebook provided the survey sample and placed survey ads in the users’ newsfeeds. Since then, more than two million responses in 67 countries made it one of the largest academic social science surveys ever conducted, the release said.

Celebrity Paid Partnerships With Pfizer Raises Questions A host of celebrities have faced backlash from vaccine skeptics on social media after promoting Pfizer‘s COVID-19 preparedness and awareness initiative in paid partnerships on their Instagram accounts over the past week. In the past few days, musicians Pink and Questlove, actress Jean Smart and Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps have taken to Instagram to share sponsored posts in which they have endeavored to spread awareness regarding high-risk groups. As part of pharmaceutical giant Pfizer’s “Know Plan Go” initiative, each celebrity has shared factors that have put them at a higher risk of developing severe COVID-19. These stories have also been shared on the Know Plan Go website. The Know Plan Go website encourages members of the public to map out a plan with their healthcare providers to be best prepared before COVID-19 strikes, in a bid to prevent serious illness. It also encourages those who test positive to speak with their healthcare providers about the most suitable treatments. “Having COVID-19 was a scary experience,” Pink, 43, who was born Alecia Moore, said in a statement shared on the website. “Having asthma puts me at high risk for getting very sick from it. But now I’m ready to act quickly if COVID-19 strikes again. If I ever have symptoms—even if they’re mild—I know to get tested quickly and make the call to my doctor right away if my test is positive.”

Was it worth it? America has suffered 300,000 NON-Covid excess deaths since 2020 — as experts blame lockdowns and delayed healthcare for spike in drug overdoses and firearm fatalities The US has suffered nearly 300,000 more deaths than usual in more than two years of the pandemic that cannot be attributed to Covid, with researchers blaming lockdowns and delays to healthcare. Latest official data shows there were 1.26million excess deaths between February 2020 and the end of 2022, of which around 295,000 did not have Covid as their main cause of death on their death certificates. These are thought to be mostly made up of surges in deaths from cancer, heart disease, drug overdoses and firearms during the pandemic, however, a full analysis by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is still likely weeks away. Dr Coady Wing, a health policy expert from Indiana University, told that these pandemic mandates kept people who needed care the most away from the doctor’s office – potentially costing thousands of lives. ‘It’s a hard question to decide how many lives were saved by the shutdowns themselves,’ Dr Wing told ‘What we’re finding is that some of the things people did to avoid Covid risk, one of those things was to cut down of regular health care utilization, and that had health consequences.’ As a result, they either had their condition deteriorate or had diseases that could have been caught instead go unnoticed until they fell more ill.
