Outrage as Berkeley is now demanding students wear masks if they are not vaccinated against FLU The University of California, Berkeley has introduced a mask mandate for students who have not taken a seasonal flu shot. ‘Masks are required during flu season if not vaccinated for flu,’ an announcement on the school’s website read. The guidelines also strongly recommends that all people on UC Berkeley campuses wear masks indoors regardless of their Covid-19 vaccination status. The move, which represents a doubling down on a widely abandoned masking policy and challenges 2019 norms for seasonal flu, was met with a torrent of criticism and mocking in equal measure on social media. Lawyer and California candidate for U.S. Senate, Mark Meuser, said: ‘UC Berkeley is going to force unvaccinated students to mask during flu season, despite the CDC saying that unvaccinated should now be treated the same as vaccinated. ‘Someone should tell UC Berkeley that they should follow the science,’ he quipped sarcastically. ‘2019 norms gone forever at Berkeley, as university makes masking compulsory in flu seasons,’ another user tweeted. Other users were in utter disbelief at the decision. ‘I saw some images of it and doubted it, oh no, it’s real… Never mind a 100-year old consensus masks don’t help for the flu,’ one said.
Special Guests Deborah and Juliana Grimnes
Brilliant and beautiful.
Structured, but fun.
Intentionally quirky.
Who would you be if you absolutely loved who you are and where you are in life in a way that lets you live life to the fullest and bring to this world what only you can bring? What would it look like to embrace courage, standing confidently in who you are, loving yourself and loving life right where you are?
As a society we have been taught a very specific narrative of what qualifies as beauty — but that narrative never tells a full story and often disguises the unique and beautiful qualities each of us bring to the world around us. At Give-A-Derm, we reject that narrative and advocate for you to be who you are while caring for your whole body, mind, and spirit, owning who you are without shame.
Mother and daughter duo and founders of Give-A-Derm, Deborah Grimnes and Juliana Grimnes, driven by their own health journeys, have created – with the help of an experienced formulator – a toxin free skin care line that supports you at every age.
Though Deborah believed in the value of clean, organic products, she didn’t realize the effects traditional skin care products were having on her body. After a dermatologist mis-prescribed a spot treatment chemo cream as broad-spectrum, she began experiencing debilitating wide-ranging symptoms of chemical toxicity and discovered her immune system and liver were overloaded and unable to process any additional chemicals.
Soon afterward Juliana became a licensed massage therapist specializing in lymphatic drainage and certified advanced practitioner in neurostructural integration technique. During this process she came to understand the critical need to reevaluate what her mother was coming into contact with on a daily basis. That was nearly a decade ago. Since then, mother and daughter have been searching and testing products, looking for the right combinations to provide healthy, clean, toxin-free skin care while performing at an elite level.
Give-A-Derm is the result.
WHO allows public to help rename monkeypox, vows nothing ‘ridiculous’ Poxy McPoxface, TRUMP-22 or Mpox: these are some of the ideas sent in by the public to the World Health Organization as it seeks a new name for monkeypox. Often disease names are chosen behind closed doors by a technical committee, but the WHO has this time decided to open up the process to the public. After a slow start, dozens of submissions have now been made from a range of contributors including academics, doctors, and a gay community activist. They range from the technical (OPOXID-22, submitted by Harvard Medical School emergency physician Jeremy Faust) to the farcical (Poxy McPoxface, submitted by Andrew Yi in an allusion to Boaty McBoatface – almost the name of a British polar research vessel after a public vote on the choice). Pressure is growing for a new name for the disease, in part because critics say it is misleading, since monkeys are not the original animal host. A group of leading scientists wrote a position paper in June calling for a name that was “neutral, non-discriminatory and non-stigmatizing” amid fears the name can be used in a racist way. Until this year, monkeypox has mainly spread only in a group of countries in west and central Africa.

These Emails Show How the Biden Administration’s Crusade Against ‘Misinformation’ Imposes Censorship by Proxy On July 16, 2021, the day that Joe Biden accused Facebook of “killing people” by failing to suppress misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines, a senior executive at the social media platform’s parent company emailed Surgeon General Vivek Murthy in an effort to assuage the president’s anger. “Reaching out after what has transpired over the past few days following the publication of the misinformation advisory, and culminating today in the President’s remarks about us,” the Meta executive wrote. “I know our teams met today to better understand the scope of what the White House expects from us on misinformation going forward.” Murthy had just published an advisory in which he urged a “whole-of-society” effort to combat the “urgent threat to public health” posed by “health misinformation,” possibly including “appropriate legal and regulatory measures.” Biden’s homicide charge came the next day, and Meta was keen to address the president’s concerns by cracking down on speech that offended him. Our Lawsuit Uncovers Army of Federal Bureaucrats Coercing Social-Media Companies to Censor Speech I’ve recently posted twice on the case of Missouri v. Biden, in which the state of Missouri and Louisiana — along with four private plaintiffs (Jay Bhattacharya, Martin Kulldorff, the non-profit Health Freedom Louisiana, and yours truly) represented by the New Civil Liberties Alliance — are suing the Biden Administration for alleged free speech violations. Specifically, the executive branch of the federal government has been colluding with social media to censor any content on social media platforms — Twitter, YouTube (owned by Google), and LinkedIn (owned by Microsoft), Facebook and Instagram (both owned by Meta) — any content that questions, challenges, or contradicts the government’s covid policies. While private companies might arguably choose to censor content on their platforms, the government cannot pressure or coerce private companies to censor disfavored content. Any such action is clearly a violation of the free speech guaranteed by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. As we articulate in our latest legal brief: “Under the First Amendment, the federal Government should have no role in policing private speech or picking winners and losers in the marketplace of ideas. But that is what federal officials are doing, on a massive scale.”
What Would You Do If Your Utility Bill Was TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS? Imagine going to the mailbox to face the usual onslaught of bills and finding something different…something that could totally destroy life as you know it. Many Europeans are finding just that – utility bills for 1-2 months of power that work out to around $10,000 because of their energy crisis. Yep, you read that right. I didn’t add an extra zero. Ten. Thousand. Dollars. How would you possibly pay that kind of a bill? Is this how the Big Blackout begins? I’ve posited for years that we won’t need an EMP or solar flare to wipe out our power grid. One day we could very easily run into a situation in which electricity and central heat are only for rich people. Maybe the “fictional” Hunger Games trilogy isn’t that far off from the reality we’re facing. Think about it. What a way to control the populace! There’d be no need to enforce draconian “green” policies if the price of power was approximately what a minimum wage worker earns in a year.
