Quebec launches second ad campaign to get children vaccinated against COVID-19 The Quebec government launched the second part of its advertising campaign focused on the vaccination of children against COVID-19 on Sunday. The ads, which will be broadcast on television, on the Web and in print, are designed to remind parents of the benefits of vaccination, including limiting the risks of transmitting COVID-19 to their families and loved ones, explains the Executive Council Ministry in a release. The 30-second ad shows a little girl surrounded by her loved ones blowing out a candle for her seventh birthday, a young boy jumping into the arms of an elderly person and other children playing hockey in an alley. The ad, which incorporates dramatic music and is punctuated by grimaces, ends with a little girl who, after being vaccinated, calls out “Watch out, COVID-19!” (Tiens-toi bien, COVID-19), which is the theme of this part of the campaign. This second series of ads is more humorous than the ones featuring science popularizer Martin Carli.

Australian man eats nothing but KFC for an entire month – and discovers the shocking effect it had on his body WASN’T the worst part of his fast food free-for-all A fitness fanatic who challenged himself to only eat KFC for a month revealed he gained one kilogram of weight every three days. Conan Visser packed on eight kilograms altogether by sticking to a strict diet of a burgers, fries and deep-fried chicken meals for 30 days.  Mr Visser, from Brisbane, was hoping to raise awareness about the detrimental effects fast food and alcohol can have on mental and physical health.  The fitness guru began the challenge weighing in at a healthy 75 kilograms. Four weeks later, he weighed 82.6kgs.  He documented his day-to-day meals on TikTok and documented a number of worrying changes to his body, including signs of kidney and liver damage in his blood tests and became constipated. But one of the biggest effects wasn’t on his body, rather his brain.  ‘One of the biggest differences I saw was my mental health decline,’ he said in one video.

Question of The Day!

Hi Robert! My 80 year old mother in law has had lung issues for quite some time. Just recently, she was rushed to the E.R as she had fallen, & could not breathe. When she arrived to the hospital, they put her on a ventilator & the family was told to come say their goodbyes, as she wasn’t expected to live much longer. Two days after being on the ventilator, she began to wake up. Everyone was thrilled, however, when she came to, she no longer has memory of anyone in the family. She knows none of us, not even her husband or her own children. She is German and has a very strong German accent. Her German accent is completely gone as well and she speaks almost as if she is a kid or a teenager. The hospital staff are telling them, it could be that her sodium levels are so low. Maybe I’m wrong, but that sounds absurd to me. Have you any thoughts on this, Robert? I would imagine the anesthesia that was used has caused the memory loss or perhaps the lack of oxygen prior to the breathing machine. Its just been such a bizarre turn of events and I would love your insight on this!! I value your opinion so much! Thank you!!! – Cathy

Three arrested after scaling fence of Australian Covid quarantine compound in middle of night Three teenagers have been arrested after escaping from a Covid-19 quarantine facility in the middle of the night. Australian police said the three boys, aged 15, 16 and 17, scaled the fence of the Howard Springs centre near Darwin in the Northern Territory (NT) on Tuesday. Police arrested them after launching a manhunt on Wednesday. All of them had tested negative for Covid the day before, NT Chief Minister Michael Gunner said at a press conference. He also said that the teens were from the Binjari community near the town of Katherine in NT. They had been sent to Howard Springs as they were close contacts of a positive case. NT police commissioner Jamie Chalker told the media that the three were found on the edge of Palmerston city, where police chased them on foot. Mr Gunner said there was a very low risk to the community. “The health risk to the community was very low, so that does give cause for comfort.” He, however, added that there was “absolutely no excuse for the actions of these three this morning”.

Up to 300,000 people facing heart-related illnesses due to post-pandemic stress disorder, warn physicians Up to 300,000 people in the UK are facing heart-related illnesses due to post-pandemic stress disorder (PPSD), two London physicians have warned. This could result in a 4.5 per cent rise in cardiovascular cases nationally because of the effects of PPSD, with those aged between 30 to 45 most at-risk, they claim. Mark Rayner, a former senior NHS psychological therapist and founder of EASE Wellbeing CIC, said that as many as three million people in Britain are already suffering from PPSD, thanks to stress and anxiety caused by the effects of Covid-19.  He fears this could result in a dramatic rise in physical health issues, such as coronary heart failure, if cases are not detected or treated early.  Mr Rayner said: “PPSD is a very real problem on a massive scale. As well as the condition itself with all its immediate problems, one of the biggest collateral issues is the affect it can have on heart health. “It is widely recognised that reducing stress and mental health problems is crucial to the prevention and recovery of cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes. “We are talking about as many as 300,000 new patients with heart issues.” Mr Rayner warned that without at least doubling the current funding, the NHS will not be able to tackle the “trauma timebomb”, which could have potentially fatal consequences for those suffering with long-term PPSD.

Italian tries to dodge Covid jab using fake arm A Italian man who wanted a coronavirus vaccine certificate without actually having the jab tried to play the system by presenting health workers with a fake arm, an official said Friday. Despite the realistic skin colour, nobody was fooled by the silicone limb, and the man—in his 50s—was reported to local police following the incident on Thursday night in Biella, northwest Italy. “The case borders on the ridiculous, if it were not for the fact we are talking about a gesture of enormous gravity,” the head of the Piedmont regional government, Albert Cirio, said in a statement on Facebook. He said such an act was “unacceptable faced with the sacrifice that our entire community has paid during the pandemic, in terms of human lives, the social and economic cost.” The fake arm incident comes ahead of a tightening of the rules Monday in Italy for people who have not yet been vaccinated against Covid-19. Since August, a “Green Pass” showing proof of vaccination, recent recovery from coronavirus or a negative test has been required for indoor dining in restaurants, to visit museums, cinemas, theatres and attend . But from December 6, these activities will be restricted to holders of a “Super Green Pass”, which is only available to those who have been vaccinated or recently had Covid-19.

Hour 2

They Were High-Performing Athletes … Until COVID Vaccines Destroyed Their Health Another elite athlete has experienced devastating injuries after receiving COVID-19 shots. Florian Dagoury is a world record holder in static breath-hold freediving. The freediver — from France and now based in Thailand — held his breath for an astonishing 10 minutes and 30 seconds. After receiving his second dose of Pfizer’s COVID-19 injection, he experienced increased heart rate and a reduction in his breath-holding capacity. A cardiologist diagnosed him with myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart muscle, and pericarditis, which is inflammation of the outer lining of the heart. Both are recognized adverse effects linked to the shots. While the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continues to claim that these effects are “rare” after COVID-19 injections, as of Nov. 10, 1,793 reports of myocarditis or pericarditis among people ages 12 to 29 years who received COVID-19 injections have been reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). As a result of the shots, Dagoury’s career may be over. He shared his experience with Pfizer’s COVID-19 shots in his own words on Instagram: “Myocarditis, Pericarditis and Trivial Mitral regurgitation! Thank you Pfizer. Just want to share my annoying experience after vaccination and perhaps have some testimonials and similar stories around Freedivers. Did you get better? “After my 2nd dose I noticed that my heart rate was way higher than normal and my breath hold capacities went down significantly. During sleep, I’m at 65-70bpm instead of 37-45bpm. During the day I’m now always over 100bpm instead of 65bpm, even when I sit down and relax. “I once even reached 177bpm while having dinner with friends !!!! 10 days after my 2nd jab, I went to see a cardiologist and he told me it’s a common side effect of Pfizer vaccin[e], nothing to worry about, just rest it will pass.

Thousands Have Donated $1.6 Million to Innocent Man Freed From Prison After 43-Year Wrongful Conviction An innocent man who served 43 years in prison for a triple murder he did not commit was finally released from a Missouri penitentiary. Missouri law states that only DNA evidence can lead to someone wrongfully imprisoned receiving $50 per day of post-conviction confinement. Kevin Strickland was not freed that way. So, to help him on his way, a GoFundMe campaign was launched—and it has raised $1.65 million from caring strangers. Strickland was sent to prison in 1979, but has maintained his innocence for four decades. He was charged for the murder of three people, and an eyewitness, Cynthia Douglas, was pressured by police to pick Strickland out of a lineup, after he was arrested merely on a hunch. He said he was watching television at the time, and no physical evidence ever linked him to the crime scene. Ms. Douglas would later approach the Missouri Innocents Project with the desire to recant her testimony, but died before she was able to. Her children stated it was her will to see Strickland be freed, which prompted a re-examination of his case leading to his release.

Florida man takes children without father figures on fishing excursions Eleven years ago, William “Big Will” Dunn set out on a mission to help a young child growing up without a father figure. He turned to the one thing that brought him peace as a kid: fishing. Since then, Dunn has dedicated his life to helping foster children and those who are growing up without a father figure by taking them on fishing excursions in Clearwater, Florida, through his nonprofit Take a Kid Fishing Inc. Dunn has worked with thousands of children as part of the fishing program, but it all started with one very important child: Cameron Delong, who was 8 years old at the time. “I saw this young boy that was frustrated and showed anger. [I] didn’t know why until I found out his father was not in his life,” Dunn told Fox News. Eventually, Dunn approached Delong’s mom and asked if he could take him fishing. “I knew how special it was when my dad took me,” Dunn said. “Just being out on the water is like being out on another world. I can’t explain it.” Dunn admitted that he had a “rough upbringing in Miami,” but saw fishing as an escape. It was the very thing that “relieved all anxiety and stress that I had built up through the day,” he said.

Wrong Number Leads To 20-Year Friendship Between Florida Woman And Rhode Island Man Over 20 years ago, Gladys Hankerson was trying to call her sister who lived in Maryland. But instead of dialing the area code 410, she dialed 401. The mistake ended up connecting her to Mike Moffitt from Rhode Island. “At first, it was just like her saying, ‘Oh I’m sorry!’ and she’s really Southern, very hospitable, polite, very sweet, she’s like, ‘I’m so sorry, child!’ and then she hangs up real quick,” said Moffitt. Well, she called again a few more times over the next few weeks. “Finally I just grabbed it and said, ‘Wait wait wait, before you go, who are you, where are you from, what are you trying to do? And we started talking,” Moffitt said. Hankerson, who lives in Delray, Florida, told him she had been trying to reach her sister. “I told him, ‘I’m sorry I was trying to call my sister,’ and he said, ‘This is Mike,'” Hankerson said. “I said my son passed away and he said I’m so sorry and he talked real nice to me and I talked real nice to him, and after that I had his phone number and I put it down on paper and I always called him.” Hankerson said Moffitt came at a difficult time in her life, when she was divorced and after she lost her son. But she said Moffitt always lifted her spirits. The two stayed in touch by phone over the years, chatting about their children — Hankerson is the mother of 10, Moffitt, a father of three.
