Wednesday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:

Hundreds expected at public hearing on vaccination religious exemption Hartford police are calling in extra officers to handle hundreds of people that are expecte show up for Wednesday’s public hearing on getting rid of the state’s religious exemption for childhood vaccinations. People who want to keep that exemption in place held what they called a “religious freedom conference” to gear up for Wednesday’s public hearing. The proposal was prompted by an uptick in the number of children not getting their shots under the religious exemption. The religious exemption is one of two ways students can attend pubic schools without getting their vaccination. The other way is medical, for kids with compromised immune systems and a doctor says they cannot handle a vaccine. The religious exemption had been for families whose religion forbids vaccines.

Comment of The Day!

We are running to Idaho from the Seattle area. We moved to Idaho this past year, for two reasons. 1. My daughter has made it to 15 without vaccinations and that was coming to an end. 2. We watched socialism destroy a beautiful place and wanted to get ourselves to a red state. Now that we are here we call our politicians relentlessly to make sure what happened to Washington state, never happens here. I hope all the California refugees all recognize that the liberal state they came from was a total fail and they will also stand up, get vocal, and work to keep Idaho the conservative state that it is.

Most coronavirus infections are mild, says Chinese study Most people infected by the new coronavirus in China have mild symptoms, with older patients and those with underlying conditions most at risk from the disease, according to a study by Chinese researchers. The disease has now killed nearly 1,900 people and infected more than 72,000 in China since it first emerged in the central city of Wuhan late last year. A paper published in the Chinese Journal of Epidemiology looked at 72,314 confirmed, suspected, clinically diagnosed, and asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 illness across China as of February 11. It is the biggest study on novel coronavirus patients since the outbreak began in late December.

Nebraska doctors are providing coronavirus patients with chicken soup and Tylenol University of Nebraska Medical Center doctors aren’t just providing top tier medical care to coronavirus patients, they’re also supporting them as they battle the symptoms. It’s why Dr. Mark Rupp, UNMC’s division of infectious diseases chief, told CNN Tuesday the hospital is providing patients with chicken soup and antipyretics, or anti-fever medicine like Tylenol or Motrin. “They’re in the chicken soup stage right now,” Rupp said. “It’s really just watching them and giving them supportive care that you would probably get at home from a loving provider.” The US Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness Response asked UNMC early Monday morning to take in a total of 13 patients who had either tested positive, or had a high likelihood of testing positive, for the novel coronavirus.

Hi RSB and Super Don,
My son got RSV and pertussis at the same time at 7 months old and then 4 months later at 11 months old was hospitalized for a week for Bronchiolitis. He was treated with Pulmicort. He is 2-1/2 years old now and continues having breathing issues every time he gets a cold or has allergies. We use Albuterol to help him when his oxygen levels drop. He hasn’t had any vaccines except for Vitamin K which at that time I did not know it could contain polysorbate 80 or aluminum. I do not want to continue using modern medicine. I know you guys talk about Sovereign Silver, Selenium, Chromium, Beta Glucan and other products. I’m just not sure what products and amounts of doses is safe for a 2-1/2 child and a 8 month old baby. Any help you can give me would be wonderful.
Sincerely Ed

The Clock Is Ticking for Homeopathy This could be our last chance to defend access to homeopathic treatments. Action Alert! The FDA has extended the comment period on its completely unacceptable guidance that shifts how the agency will regulate homeopathic medicines. While the agency says that it will exercise enforcement discretion and focus on certain categories of homeopathic drugs, the wording of the guidance, in fact, says that all homeopathic drugs are currently being marketed illegally, leaving the door open for the agency to take action against any and all products. Concerned consumers must make their voices heard to stop this draconian guidance from moving forward.

Hour 2 – Outside The Box With Ty Bollinger!

It’s time to go Outside The Box again with Ty Bollinger! What will we be talking about today?

CORONAVIRUS: “The Good, the Bad, and the Answers!” Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few weeks, you’ve likely heard about and been appropriately “terrorized” by reports of a novel, deadly coronavirus that is sweeping the globe. Today, we want to share with you some bad news, some good news, and some answers! We’ve written a few articles on the new coronavirus (nCoV-2019) over the past few weeks, so feel free to hit the links below to “catch up” on what’s been going on.

Read on as we unmask the truth behind the coronavirus outbreak and bring you up to speed on the good, the bad, and the ugly answers. 😉

UK Considers Making Vaccines Mandatory for All and Criminalizing Criticism of Vaccines Posting anti-vaccine propaganda on social media could become criminal offence, Law Commissioner says New Law Commissioner Penney Lewis is leading wide-ranging review into whether UK’s offence and abuse laws are fit for the Social Media age Posting anti-vaccine propaganda on social media could become a criminal offence – even if those promoting it believe the pseudoscience, the UK’s new criminal Law Commissioner has said. In her first interview since taking up the role, Penney Lewis, revealed she is considering whether laws should be amended to “lower the threshold” of criminality for posting false information online that endangers lives. It comes as the Health Secretary Matt Hancock said in September he was “looking very seriously” at making vaccinations compulsory for state school pupils after the UK lost its official measles-free country status due to a steady fall in MMR immunisation rates.

Wikipedia Run By Robots? Researchers Develop AI That Updates Site Using ‘Humanlike’ Style, Grammar Wikipedia, the world’s free online encyclopedia, is a true wonder of the internet. As vast a resource it is on quite literally any subject one can imagine, it’s knock is that it allows anyone to make edits and provide updates. That means sometimes articles show outdated or inaccurate information. Misinformation feels like it’s reaching a fever pitch in 2020, and in an effort to create a more accurate internet, researchers at MIT have developed an advanced AI system capable of automatically identifying and correcting inaccurate, outdated information presented in Wikipedia articles. For now, Wikipedia articles are painstakingly reviewed and slowly corrected thanks to the efforts of human volunteers all over the world. The team at MIT say their system will be able to do these editors’ jobs in a faster, more efficient manner, all while maintaining language largely similar to how a human would write or edit.

The CDC Is About to Fall Off a Funding Cliff Last October, I wrote that a large pot of money, dedicated to protecting the world from infectious diseases, was about to run dry. In December 2014, Congress appropriated $5.4 billion to fight the historic Ebola epidemic that was raging in West Africa. Most of that money went to quashing the epidemic directly, but around $1 billion was allocated to help developing countries improve their ability to detect and respond to infectious diseases. The logic is sound: It is far more efficient to invest money in helping countries contain diseases at the source, than to risk small outbreaks flaring up into large international disasters. But the $1 billion pot, which was mostly divided between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and USAID, runs out in 2019—a fiscal cliff with disaster at its foot.

Too Many Antibiotics Prescribed With No Doctor’s Visit, Study Finds A recent study published in Health Affairs by researchers with Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine has found that nearly 45% of antibiotics prescribed over a 10-year period were given out for no clear reason and were not associated with a visit to a physician. According to the study, between 2004 and 2013, “among 298 million antibiotic fills (62 percent for children) for 53 million patients, 55 percent were for clinician visits with an infection-related diagnosis, 17 percent were for clinician visits without an infection-related diagnosis, and 28 percent were not associated with a visit.” As the US works to reduce the inappropriate prescription of outpatient antibiotics the research suggests that a big part of the picture in those efforts may be missing, since current measures don’t account for antibiotics prescribed outside of clinician visits. The US is one of the leading prescribers of antibiotics in the world with more than 800 prescriptions per 1,000 Americans per year.
