Tuesday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
BOMBSHELL: USDA turns a blind eye to meat supply contaminated with banned pharmaceutical drugs Sanderson Farms, the third largest poultry producer in the nation, advertises that their chicken is “natural” and “antibiotic-free.” Like many large meat producers, Sanderson Farms gets away with these false claims without receiving any enforceable scientific scrutiny from meat inspectors working for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Now, independent food safety organizations are challenging these “natural” and “antibiotic-free” claims in court. According to a lawsuit, a team of independent scientists from the Consumers Union have analyzed USDA tests conducted on thousands of random meat samples from poultry, pork, and beef farms across the country. The findings, published by Consumer Reports, are shocking. Out of nearly 6,000 samples of meat, 2.6 percent contained chloramphenicol, an antibiotic that causes anemia in humans. For every 10,000 people exposed to chloramphenicol, one will suffer a life threatening condition called aplastic anemia. The levels of chloramphenicol exceeded safety limits set by the Consumer Union’s team of scientists.
What Turkey Producers Don’t Want You to Know As Turkey Day approaches, animal lovers cringe, food safety advocates become vigilant and industrial turkey producers hope you aren’t reading the news. Specifically, the purveyors of factory farm turkeys hope you haven’t heard about the latest turkey salmonella outbreak in 35 states, causing 63 hospitalizations and at least one death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: The outbreak strain of Salmonella Reading has been identified in various raw turkey products, including ground turkey and turkey patties. The outbreak strain has also been found in raw turkey pet food and live turkeys, indicating it might be widespread in the turkey industry.” Factory farm turkey producers also hope you’ve forgotten that avian flu and its prevention killed so many turkeys in 2015—at least 7.5 million—that turkey giant Jennie-O laid off 233 workers.

Health Ranger Store announces glyphosate science breakthrough: Entire brand being certified “zero detectable” glyphosate herbicide via LC-MS-MS lab testing After two years of lab science research, investment and training, I’m thrilled to report that we have achieved validated glyphosate testing in our in-house lab, and we are now in the process of certifying all Health Ranger brand products as “Glyphosate Tested” with glyphosate residues achieving “non-detected” status. We are able to determine this using complex chemistry and a triple quad mass spec instrument (LC-MS-MS) that required an investment of about half a million dollars and two years of studying analytical chemistry and instrumentation operations. Soon, everything you buy at the Health Ranger Store that’s an in-house brand will be certified glyphosate tested. This is in addition to the heavy metals testing, microbiology testing and other tests we routinely conduct to achieve our reputation as providers of the cleanest foods, superfoods and supplements in the world. Hour 2 – AFM Getting Worse
More US children confirmed with paralyzing polio-like illness AFM More children have been diagnosed with acute flaccid myelitis, the polio-like paralyzing illness, according to numbers released Monday by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There have now been 106 confirmed cases of AFM in 29 states this year, according to the CDC, an increase of 16 since last week. There are also 167 possible cases of the illness, an increase of five from the previous week. Since 2014, there have been 430 confirmed cases of the rare disease, and 90% have been children, according to the CDC. AFM is a rare illness that affects the nervous system, especially the gray matter in the spinal cord, and causes muscle weakness and sudden onset of paralysis. There’s a spectrum of how children can be affected: Some regain the use of their paralyzed limbs, while others are paralyzed from the neck down and can breathe only with the help of a ventilator. There is no cure and no vaccine.
Man diagnosed with mysterious polio-like illness Adam and Bridget Spoerri had the July wedding they imagined, but their honeymoon ended with both of them coming down with a cold. Bridget got better, but Adam’s condition worsened and within a week he started showing signs of paralysis and suddenly couldn’t breathe. Doctors later diagnosed him with Acute Flaccid Myelitis — AFM — a mysterious polio-like illness that mostly affects children. He’s the only adult in Wisconsin to have come down with the illness that as of Sunday affected 89 others in 27 states, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “AFM is really rare, but it’s still something that you should know to look out for, so if kids or adults are experiencing weakness after a cold symptom, they should go get checked out by a doctor because it’s not normal to not be able to lift a limb just because you’ve had a cold,” Bridget Spoerri said as she sat at her husband’s bedside at Post Acute Medical Specialty Hospital in Greenfield.

AFM “EMERGENCY STATUS” LEAVES CDC CATATONIC CDC has released new numbers reporting as follows: “So far in 2018, there are 106 confirmed cases of AFM in 29 states. These 106 confirmed cases are among the total of 273 reports that CDC received of patients under investigation (PUIs).” “AFM is now at emergency status” US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Principal Deputy Director Anne Schuchat, MD reportedly told a group of parents recently during a closed-door meeting. The parents, whose children are affected by a serious condition called acute flaccid myelitis (AFM), have been looking for answers from the CDC for months and in many cases, years. AFM affects the nervous system causing muscle weakness and paralysis in certain populations. The condition is grabbing headlines as seemingly random clusters of children across the US are being struck with the affliction. The uptick in outbreaks, which the CDC still doesn’t know a lot about, have been regularly surging in the late summer and into the fall since the agency first noted large numbers of cases being reported in 2014.
No freedom of choice in vaccination, top EU health official insists There is no freedom of choice when it comes to vaccination because it involves putting other people’s health at risk, a top EU health official has warned, adding that ongoing debate in Italy about inoculations is verging “on the absurd”. As a debate continues to rage in Italy about freedom of choice in vaccination, Martin Seychell, the European Commission’s deputy director-general for health and food safety said last week that it “is verging on the absurd, false debate”. “Because the issue is, if I make a decision for whatever reason to refuse vaccination, I am somehow giving myself the right to transmit a disease,” he said. Speaking at the “Active Citizens in Europe advocate for vaccination” event in the European Parliament on 7 November, Seychell noted that the decision not to vaccinate is not a “right”, particularly with vulnerable people “who cannot be vaccinated for whatever reason or who are immuno-compromised”. The EU official also highlighted the positive role of vaccination that goes much deeper than saving lives, citing its prevention of “suffering, illness, handicaps, and also enhances economic and social productivity”.
Warrant: Man accused of bomb threat told NOPD he was referring to ‘bowel movement’ A man accused ofthreatening to blow up Willie’s Chicken Shack Tuesday night (Nov. 13) claimed to police when confronted about the allegation that his words were merely a reference to a bowel movement, the man’s warrant states. Arthur Posey, 30, was booked on charges in connection to a bomb threat after his story was not corroborated with the restaurant’s employees, New Orleans police wrote in the warrant. Shortly after police were made aware of the bomb threat at the Canal Street restaurant, an officer confronted Posey inside a business in the next block, where the officer saw Posey enter. Posey claimed to the officer he told a male employee he was going to “’blow the bathroom up,’ in reference to a bowel movement,” the warrant states. However, police say a Willie’s Chicken Shack employee told officers “Mr. Posey never told him anything about a bathroom.”
