Coronavirus: Does worrying increase your risk of getting sick? As the number of people infected by coronavirus – also known as COVID-19 – continues to grow, so does the number of individuals concerned about the virus. But how much worry is too much? David Ropeik, author of “How Risky Is It Really?” and speaker on risk perception and communication, spoke to ABC’s Cheri Preston, about the consequences of worrying too much. “When a risk is new, it has uncertainty. We don’t know yet what we need to know to protect ourselves, and that uncertainty makes us feel powerless, like we don’t have control over it,” Ropeik said. From canceled flights and events, sold out cleaning supplies, to drastically fluctuating stock markets, it’s safe to say people are nervous. “So what we do is anything that gives us a sense of control, like we buy all the bottled water and toilet paper at Costco … but in part it’s because we’re freaking out rather than it’s actually just good practice,” Ropeik continued. Fear of the unknown worries people just as much as the virus. While trying to take control of the situation — whether that means self-quarantining, buying all the toilet paper at the supermarket or stocking up on canned goods — can give people a sense of control, it’s better to be cautious, aware and keep matters in perspective.
Coronavirus Update: FDA and FTC Warn Seven Companies Selling Fraudulent Products that Claim to Treat or Prevent COVID-19 The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued warning letters to seven companies for selling fraudulent COVID-19 products. These products are unapproved drugs that pose significant risks to patient health and violate federal law. The FDA and FTC are taking this action as part of their response in protecting Americans during the global COVID-19 outbreak. The warning letters are the first to be issued by the FDA for unapproved products intended to prevent or treat “Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019” (COVID-19). “The FDA considers the sale and promotion of fraudulent COVID-19 products to be a threat to the public health. We have an aggressive surveillance program that routinely monitors online sources for health fraud products, especially during a significant public health issue such as this one,” said FDA Commissioner Stephen M. Hahn, M.D. “We understand consumers are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 and urge them to talk to their health care providers, as well as follow advice from other federal agencies about how to prevent the spread of this illness. We will continue to aggressively pursue those that place the public health at risk and hold bad actors accountable.”

Comment of The Day!
Hello Robert, I was just told of your podcast and I love listening to you! I am currently listening to your show with Meryl about how Australia may pass a law about healthcare workers. Well, I want to let you know, incase you aren’t aware……New Jersey, this past January, DID pass a law like that!!!! We are the first state to do so. Any person working in a healthcare setting( hospital, nursing home, rehab) must get the yearly flu vaccine. This will be affecting so many people. We are trying to figure out what to do. Most of us were fighting for our children on Dec. 16 when Senator Vitale, under our noses, absolutely stripped the bill with an amendment removing the religious exemption. Please, if you know of any lawyers in NJ who would be willing to sue the State of NJ, please let me know! Keep up the good work!!!!
CDC Admits In Federal Court They Have No Evidence “Vaccines Don’t Cause Autism” This is truly a bombshell story when you understand the full implications of it, yet major media likely will not touch it. Headlines could read “In stunning lawsuit, CDC admits they have no evidence vaccines don’t cause autism” – but instead, crickets. Independent media organizations like CE are left to have to tell these stories, and at the same time risk more demonetization for telling the truth that the public should know. Of course, we also know that since independent media’s reach has been cut, getting stories like this out is very hard and relies on you, the dear reader, to spread the word. As of March 2nd, 2020, the CDC has admitted in federal court that they do not have any evidence proving that vaccines given to babies don’t cause autism. For years they claimed that the studies had been done, the evidence was clear, and that there was a consensus: “vaccines don’t cause autism.” Yet, this was a lie.
Mom wanted for vaccine fact finding mission to tropical island Few subjects elicit stronger opinions than child vaccinations. It crosses political party lines, income and ethnicity. When emotions run high, it’s difficult for anyone to put their biases aside and listen. 11Alive News wants to hear you out – more specifically, an anti-vaxxer mom who has chosen not to vaccinate her child. With grant assistance from the Solutions Journalism Network, 11Alive News wants to take a metro Atlanta mother on a fact-finding journey to learn more about vaccinations and infectious diseases from real medical experts and researchers. The selected mother will have an opportunity to ask the questions and help report the story. The intent of the story is to arm mothers with facts from credible sources to help them make the right choices for their families. The biggest part of the trip includes traveling to a tropical island in the Polynesian region of the Pacific Ocean to witness a real-life case study. This mom must be available to travel in early June for about five days.
Questions of The Day!
I have a friend that has been diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis. What sort of lifestyle changes, supplements, homeopathy, other modalities would be helpful?
Hello guys!!! Still sticking to your great show!!!!
I have a question regarding selenium and blood test. A person who I recommanded to take selenium (yes! the good one!!!) asked a blood test to check the selenium level. And it was over the recommanded “chart” on the sheet (the maximum level stand for 1.00-1.78 mmol) and she’s at 2.34mmol. She was taking the selenium at only 100mcg/day since one month. I told her to stop, of course, but, I am wondering why, if, and how her number is so high, and also, if you consider the blood test like a significant, reliable, value for the selenium (like magnesium, we know that the blood test is not significant of a lack of it or not). I don’t know if my question is clear…excuse me for my not always perfect english 😉 I know it’s a bit technical, but as I listen to you, and you suggest a daily concumption of selenium, basic, 200mcg, have you, or anyone you know have ever check with blood test, or rely to it for levels…Would’nt want to overload on selenium either!!!
Thank you so much for all the good informations you provide!!! I share the link to your show very often on my discussion group, even if it’s mostly “frenchies”, some understands english so it may help some of them!!!
Annie the homeopath, from Quebec 😉
Seeing a lot of reports about Activz Silver Sol is used and recommended by the government. Can you please answer a few questions as I am trying to choose the right products:
What is the difference between Activz Silver Sol and Sovereign Silver? What is the difference between Bio-active Silver and Nano Silver? What is the best PPM dosage to take in order to protect against the Covid pandemics? Should I take a Silver 200ppm or 500ppm?
Will all silver products kill all of the same bacteria and protect the immune system the same?
Lastly, I need a good homeopathic doctor, can you please take me as a new client?
Tennessee lawmakers advance measure to designate CNN, Washington Post as ‘fake news’ outlets Tennessee legislators advanced an effort Wednesday to officially recognize both The Washington Post and CNN as being “fake news and part of the media wing of the Democratic Party.” Members of the Republican-controlled Judiciary Committee of the Tennessee state House of Representatives voted 13-5 to pass the joint resolution, with four lawmakers abstaining. Introduced last month by Tennessee state Rep. Micah Van Huss, Jonesborough Republican, the measure is now set to be heard at a later date by the House Calendar and Rules Committee. Mr. Van Huss, a former member of the U.S. Marine Corp, reasoned his proposal was a response to reporting by The Post and CNN that negatively depicted supporters of President Trump.
