I Think We have Been Saying This Since…FOREVER
The Key to Weight Loss Is Diet Quality, Not Quantity, a New Study Finds Anyone who has
ever been on a diet knows that the standard prescription for weight loss is to reduce the amount of calories you consume. But a new study, published Tuesday in JAMA, may turn that advice on its head. It found that people who cut back on added sugar, refined grains and highly processed foods while concentrating on eating plenty of vegetables and whole foods — without worrying about counting calories or limiting portion sizes — lost significant amounts of weight over the course of a year.
Comment of The Day!
I recently had a couple of cuts on my fingers that were stubbornly taking many weeks to heal. So after hearing you recommend the healing properties of Sovereign Silver Hydrosol I finally bought some for the first time last week. I used it and in two days the cuts were healed. I also noticed in watching your show last night that you sprayed the product directly into your eyes, so I guess it’s Ok to do that too? Thanks for pointing me in that direction and as you say the power to heal is ours.
This Kratom Thing Is Getting Ridiculous
FDA oversees destruction and recall of kratom products; and reiterates its concerns on risks associated with this opioid The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today announced the voluntary destruction and recall of a large volume of kratom-containing dietary supplements manufactured and distributed nationwide under the brand names Botany Bay, Enhance Your Life and Divinity by Divinity Products Distribution of Grain Valley, Missouri. In cooperation with the FDA, the company has also agreed to stop selling all products containing kratom. Based on the scientific evidence of the serious risks associated with the use of kratom, in the interest of public health, the FDA encourages all companies currently involved in the sale of products containing kratom intended for human consumption to take similar steps to take their products off the market and submit any necessary evidence, as appropriate, to the FDA to evaluate them based on the applicable regulatory pathway.
Question of The Day!
I understand that if a person supplements with adequate selenium that there isn’t a need for CoQ10 because selenium encourages the body to produce adequate CoQ10 on its own. For those on statin drugs, where the liver is blocked from producing CoQ10, is it enough then to supplement with selenium alone or is it necessary to add in the CoQ10 as well?
A Different Kind Of Orthorexia Story
Healthy food blogger almost died from dieting obsession A food blogger who posted beautiful
food pictures on Instagram revealed she almost died of an eating disorder. Eloise du Lart prided herself on posting appetizing pictures of healthy foods to her thousands of followers, but she became so obsessed with exercise and eating so-called superfoods that she dipped to 56 pounds. She became ill from never eating her dishes, she said, because they were usually inedible after she had spent hours taking the perfect pictures and posting them online.
Hour 2 – Outside The Box With Ty Bollinger!
It’s time to go Outside The Box again with Ty Bollinger! What will we be talking about today?
David Clarke: Fla. students’ gun control push has ‘George Soros’ fingerprints all over it’ Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr. insinuated Wednesday that student survivors of the Parkland, Fla., school shooting were being manipulated by Democratic billionaire George Soros to organize for gun control. In a tweet, the former Wisconsin sheriff wrote that media appearances and an activism campaign from students of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School against gun violence had “George Soros’ fingerprints all over it.”
REMINDER: Just because high school students survived a tragedy doesn’t make them
instant experts on complex policy issues The latest tactic of the “mob rule” Left is to puppeteer high school students, parading them in front of cameras as “experts” on gun control and the Second Amendment, all while rehearsing scripted talking points with them to make sure they stay on point. The puppeteers, of course, are all the same anti-America, anti-Trump, anti-Constitution left-wing radicals who promote communism, open borders and mass abortions. These are people who believe the only thing wrong with the murder of high school students in Florida is thatthey weren’t young enough. Had those same children been murdered during a partial child birth, such acts of violence would be widely celebrated by the murderous abortion industry as “women’s rights.” (Many Leftists even believe in “post-birth abortion,” which means they think parents should have the right to kill their babies up to five years after they are born.)
John Morgan deletes tweets appearing to link vaccines to autism John Morgan, a prominent Florida lawyer, activist and political donor, posted — then deleted — tweets that appeared to link vaccines to autism. “When you think of all these school shootings by kids think of this…” Morgan, who has long flirted with a run for Florida governor, posted at 6:59 p.m. Tuesday. “Our children are doped up and drugged their whole life. Vaccines galore. Look at all the autism. Did you know anyone with autism growing up?” A Twitter user, @MatthewSchabath, responded to Morgan. “Huh? What do school shootings and vaccines have to do with one another? does getting vaccinated for deadly and preventable disease equate to “doped up and drugged their entire life”? Morgan, who has also been a vocal champion of medical marijuana in Florida, quoted the user’s tweet and responded. “The shooter was autistic. Why is there so much autism today? Vaccines are vital but are they administered too quickly or in such large doses. A discussion is warranted.”
Today Is the 40th Anniversary of America’s First Medical Marijuana Law Today — Feb. 21,
2018 — marks the 40th anniversary of the nation’s first medical marijuana law, and unfortunately, the story of its passage is too often forgotten. Jimmy Carter was president and for most Americans, marijuana was a dangerous substance that deserved to be illegal. Meanwhile, a handful of young Americans had discovered marijuana had some unique, beneficial properties, especially in the treatment of the side-effects of cancer chemotherapy. Among them was a lanky New Mexican named Lynn Pierson, who was losing his battle with testicular cancer and found the chemotherapy “cure” worse than the disease. When he told his oncologist he wanted to quit chemotherapy because of debilitating side-effects, the doctor shocked him when he asked if Pierson had tried marijuana. Anecdotal accounts of marijuana’s ability to reduce the chemo-induced nausea and vomiting had been written up in the New England Journal of Medicine in 1975 and some oncologists felt their patients had nothing to lose by trying the illegal substance.
Patients with advanced cancer may be less competent to make decisions than doctors think Patients with terminal cancer face difficult decisions. What treatment options support their goals? When is it reasonable to discontinue care? A study published in the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry shows that these patients may be less competent to make these decisions than their doctors think. “Early in my graduate career, I did a lot of interviews with patientsexploring their wishes for end-of-life care. But you end up talking about other things as well. I found patients who didn’t know why they were in the hospital or had forgotten or weren’t aware their cancer was so advanced. And I recognized these patients were still responsible for making big decisions. This study grew out of that experience,” says Elissa Kolva, PhD, investigator at the University of Colorado Cancer Center and assistant professor at the CU School of Medicine Division of Medical Oncology.
