Egyptian government arrests doctors and journalists over coronavirus criticisms The government of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi is stifling criticism of its handling of the coronavirus outbreak. Egyptian security agencies have reportedly arrested at least 10 doctors and a half-dozen journalists who have reported or questioned the practices of Egypt’s delicate healthcare system during the pandemic. Health workers say administrators have instructed them to remain silent or face government punishment. Several foreign correspondents have been summoned by officials for “professional violations.” Egypt is experiencing a surge in cases that threatens to overwhelm its hospital system. The Arab nation has recorded over 76,000 cases of the virus and 3,343 deaths, which is the highest toll in the region. El-Sissi, who became president following a coup against Egypt’s first democratically elected president seven years ago, says that critics of the country’s handling of the virus are “enemies of the state.”
Refusing to wear face masks should be as taboo as drunk driving, science chief says Refusing to wear a face mask during the Covid-19 pandemic should be as socially unacceptable as drunk-driving, or driving without using a seat belt, the president of the UK’s Royal Society said Tuesday. Venki Ramakrishnan called for everyone to wear a face covering in public — particularly in enclosed public spaces — pointing to new evidence suggesting that coverings may protect both the wearer and those around them. Ramakrishnan said that people in the UK were “skeptical” about the benefits of using face coverings, and noted that the country was “way behind” other countries when it came to using face coverings, with inconsistent guidance and policies. “The public have taken to handwashing and distancing but remain skeptical about face coverings,” Ramakrishnan said in a statement. “You only need to go on public transport, where they are supposed to be mandatory, to see how many people are ignoring this new rule based on the growing body of evidence that wearing a mask will help protect others — and might even protect you.”
Florida Teen Dies From Virus After Mom Takes Her To Church ‘Covid Party’ Deplorable: A Florida teen is dead from coronavirus related complications after her mother brought her to a church “COVID party.” Raw Story reports: A Florida mother took her high-risk teenage daughter to a “COVID party” at their church, tried treating the girl at home with unproven drugs when she got sick — and then hailed her as a patriot after she died. Carsyn Leigh Davis died on June 23 at 1:06 p.m. from complications of COVID-19, two days after her 17th birthday. While her death late last month was reported by multiple media outlets, the circumstances of her death were not explained fully until Florida data scientist Rebekah Jones revealed shocking claims in a medical examiner’s report about the teen’s death. Reporting on Carsyn’s tragic death, Jones asks: With all the public articles relating to this poor girl’s death on June 23, and all the interviews done with Carsyn’s mother, why did so many fail to ask her why and how Carsyn got sick?

Comment of The Day!
Hi Robert, here is another example of insanity , I was hiking in the San Juan Mts of southwest Colorado at a elevation above 11000 FT, in total wilderness , a family of five approached me on the trail and immediately pulled up their masks that they were wearing around their neck, then got way of the trail which was very steep , they acted like I had leprosy, I’am 72 years old in good health , the very fact that I’am hiking above 11000 Ft should be a clue that I’am a healthy person, but “NO” because I’am a elder person with white hair I must be sick and avoided, so now people are dangerous if they elderly. very sad state of affairs .

Cannabis May Reduce Deadly COVID-19 Lung Inflammation: Researchers Explain Why As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, researchers have started to look for solutions in an unlikely place – the cannabis plant. Cannabis’ active compounds have a number of properties that make it appealing as a potential adjunct treatment for infections from the novel coronavirus, and recently scientists have begun looking at its potential for reducing susceptibility to the disease, and even discussed whether it could be used as an antiviral medication. This month, researchers from the University of Nebraska and the Texas Biomedical Research Institute are recommending more research into how cannabis-derived CBD might help treat dangerous lung inflammation from the novel coronavirus. The authors detailed the evidence for how cannabis’ anti-inflammatory powers may help in a peer reviewed article in this month’s issue of Brain, Behavior, and Immunity.
Staying Fit During the Quarantine: How to Workout at Home Exercising at home can still be productive with CBD oil. Truth be told, I am a gym rat. I love everything about the gym. The sheer number of ways to exercise from classes to weights, to the machines that hit the right hard to hit muscle just right. I love the social aspect of seeing regulars and chatting with friends during sets, and I really love my sauna after I complete my workout. They even have childcare that my four-year-old son loves. I go there to clear my head, sweat out my angst, get my wacky out, support my body so that I can stay healthy, and it’s also where I get some much needed “me time”. Suffice to say that, although I understood the reason, I was more than a little bummed out when the gyms were closed to halt the spread of Coronavirus. Regardless of not being able to get to the gym, I knew I had to find a way to maintain my commitment to fitness. I rely on it to keep me physically healthy, but also for so much more. My emotional and mental health relies on it as well. I’m a better wife, mom, friend, and employee when I consistently show up for my health.
How to Distinguish the Best CBD Products The CBD industry in the Untied States has exploded recently but here’s the thing about retail CBD: not all products are created equal. Most brands selling CBD-rich hemp extracts are doing their best to create a quality product but as many secret buyer surveys have shown, many bad actors are dumping products that are underlabeled for their cannabinoid content or even contain no CBD at all. In addition, the FDA has been issuing warning letters to companies making unsubstantiated medical claims about their products but they can’t keep up with the Green Rush and the many vendors saying things far beyond the science. At PlusCBD, we care about your health. That’s why we create safe effective products and make no medical claims about them. CBD-rich hemp extracts are nutritional supplements designed to work with your endocannabinoid system. Here’s a guide on how to distinguish quality CBD products from products you should avoid.
Who’s first in line for a coronavirus vaccine? New info shows prioritization fraught with peril New information released by the World Health Organization (WHO) and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows future prioritization for a potential coronavirus vaccine could be fraught with peril. As the discussion of priority groups entered the spotlight on Thursday, the coronavirus continues to present a challenge, as studies show pregnant women infected with the virus might be at greater risk for hospitalization than women who aren’t pregnant. The study also cited racial disparities among COVID-positive pregnant women, with Hispanic women exhibiting the highest infection rate at 46 percent. While pregnant women are normally the last to receive a new vaccine due to an abundance of caution, reports suggest they should be close to the front of the proverbial line. But, the question remains: who would get shuffled down the board? While Science Magazine reported Friday the coronavirus’ disproportionate toll on the elderly could put them near the top, they often also have the weakest response to vaccines. Health care workers and essential employees would likely be at the forefront of the discussion, as well. But, there are other factors to consider, and around four billion doses would be needed to vaccinate the world’s priority populations.
