Thursday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:

Sacred Fire of Liberty!

It’s that time of the week where we get to explore the political healing that this country needs so desperately! Jonathan Emord is back to help us dissect the latest political news that’s fit to print:

James Comer Subpoenas FBI Record Alleging Criminal Bribery Scheme Involving Then-VP Joe Biden House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) has subpoenaed the FBI for records alleging a criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden, a subpoena obtained by Breitbart News shows. The document, an FBI-generated FD-1023 form, allegedly details an arrangement involving an exchange of money for policy decisions between now-President Biden and a foreign national. Comer issued a subpoena Wednesday following legally protected disclosures to Sen. Chuck Grassley’s (R-IA) office. Comer and Grassley wrote to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray, also obtained by Breitbart News: We have received legally protected and highly credible unclassified whistleblower disclosures. Based on those disclosures, it has come to our attention that the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) possess an unclassified FD-1023 form that describes an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions. It has been alleged that the document includes a precise description of how the alleged criminal scheme was employed as well as its purpose.

Biden seeks to flip the script on ‘freedom’ in 2024 President Biden is flipping the script on Republicans by casting himself as the protector of “freedom,” going on offense by using a word and concept conservatives have frequently cited to push back on the president and his party. Biden’s campaign launch video was titled “Freedom,” and he referenced “freedom” or “freedoms” six times over the course of the clip. The campaign’s first official ad used those words seven times. The president’s team has used the term aggressively to tie Republicans, and in particular his political foe Donald Trump, to the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol that some in the GOP have been reluctant to condemn and to highlight GOP efforts to curb abortion access and squash dissent in statehouses. “It’s pretty clear the strategy here is going to be, ‘Republicans are coming after our freedoms and our ability to do X, Y and Z,” said one Democratic strategist. “Those are typically talking points Republicans use, so we are playing on their turf and winning.” The effort puts Biden on a collision course with Trump, former Vice President Pence and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who all frequently talk about freedom even as their visions for the country diverge sharply with Biden’s. Biden has been embracing the idea of freedom and pitching himself as the candidate most willing to defend basic freedoms in the early days of his 2024 campaign. The president and his campaign have emphasized Republican attacks on reproductive rights through restrictive abortion bans at the state level after a conservative Supreme Court majority overturned Roe v. Wade.

About Half in U.S. Worry About Their Money’s Safety in Banks Amid turbulence in the U.S. banking system, nearly half of Americans are anxious about the safety of the money they have in accounts at banks or other financial institutions. A total of 48% of U.S. adults say they are concerned about their money, including 19% who are “very” and 29% who are “moderately” worried. At the same time, 30% are “not too worried” and 20% are “not worried at all.” These findings are from a Gallup poll conducted April 3-25, the month after Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank collapsed. News about the failure of a third bank — First Republic — came after the poll was completed. Most bank failures in the U.S. over the past two decades have been linked to the 2008 financial crisis, which was the last time Gallup gauged Americans’ level of worry about their money held in banks or other financial institutions. The latest readings are similar to those in 2008. In September of that year, shortly after the collapse of Lehman Brothers, which remains the largest bankruptcy filing in U.S. history, 45% of U.S. adults said they were very or moderately worried about the safety of their money. Several months later, in December, after Congress’ Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) bailed out other banks in danger of failing, Americans were slightly less concerned about the safety of their personal financial accounts, as 41% said they were very or moderately worried.

Title 42 Countdown: Migrants Fly from Around the World to Rush U.S. Border In 2020, in the midst of the Chinese coronavirus crisis, former President Donald Trump invoked the public health authority known as Title 42 at the border, ensuring that federal immigration officials have been able to quickly return millions of illegal aliens to Mexico over the last three years. On May 11, Biden will end Title 42 and create new catch-and-release pipelines to quickly get border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior. Many foreign nationals who are waiting in Mexico for Title 42 to end before rushing the border have come from around the world. One foreign national, speaking to KGTV San Deigo, said he took three flights from Jamaica to end up in Tijuana, Mexico, in the hopes of getting released into the U.S. interior after Title 42’s end. “We just have to wait here,” the foreign national said. “We took a few planes to come here. We took three planes.” The foreign national made it clear that he does not have a valid claim for asylum, noting he is simply fleeing violent crime in Jamaica, though that may not stop Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from releasing him into the U.S. interior. “A lot of us want to come here and make it better, come out of the violence,” he said. “We don’t want to go back home to the violence … I think it’s better here than in Jamaica where the violence is. They won’t treat us that badly, I think. So, hopefully, I’m right.”

Navy Confirms Using Drag Queen Influencer as a ‘Digital Ambassador’ to Attract Recruits The U.S. Navy confirmed to Breitbart News on Wednesday that it used a drag queen influencer as one of its “digital ambassadors” to attempt to recruit “a wide range of potential candidates.” The influencer is active-duty U.S. Navy Yeoman 2nd Class Joshua Kelley, whose stage name is “Harpy Daniels.” Kelley served as part of the Navy’s pilot ambassador program from October 2022 to March 2023 and has openly performed as a drag queen for awhile, but garnered broader public attention this week after a video of him circulated on social media. Kelley announced in November 2022 in a video on his Instagram page that the Navy asked him to be their “first” “Navy Digital Ambassador.” “I identify as Non- Binary and this has been an unbelievable experience since I’ve joined the Navy,” he wrote in a caption for the video. “From joining to 2016 and being able to share my drag experience on my off time with my fellow sailors has been a blessing,” he continued. “This experience has brought me so much strength, courage and ambition to continue being an advocate and representation of queer sailors!”

SCOTUS to decide case on government power As the justices weigh in on interpretive authority, we explore what this could mean for the dietary supplement industry. Nearly 40 years ago, in Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense Council, the Supreme Court ruled that courts should defer to a federal agency’s interpretation of an ambiguous statute as long as that interpretation is reasonable. This week, the Supreme Court agreed to reconsider its ruling in Chevron. If overruled, it could become harder to sustain governmental regulations. The Chevron doctrine stems from the 1984 Supreme Court case, Chevron USA Inc. v. Natural Resources Defense Council, in which the court found that judges should defer to the agencies’ interpretations of a law if it is ambiguous. In other words, when a particular issue or question is not crystal clear, federal agencies should be allowed to fill in the details. The 39-year-old legal precedent has been used to uphold thousands of agency rules across the federal government. Federal agencies regularly assert the “Chevron deference” in defending their rules in court, including areas such as environmental regulations, workplace standards, consumer protections and more. “If these questions came up in court, under the current Supreme Court precedent, courts are supposed to ‘give deference’ to an agency’s interpretation of the statutes it operates under, with the idea being it is the real ‘expert.’ So while a challenger could successfully argue that its interpretation of a statue was correct and the agency’s was wrong, it is a big, uphill battle. If the Supreme Court overturns that precedent, that hill could be a lot easier to climb,” explained Ivan Wasserman, Managing Partner of Amin Talati Wasserman.

Hour 2

A Vaccine for Birth Control? For half a century, Gursaran Pran Talwar has been developing what he hopes will be the next big thing in birth control. A nonagenarian who was once the director of India’s National Institute of Immunology, Talwar envisions bringing to market a new form of contraception that could block pregnancy without the usual trade-offs—an intervention that’s long-acting but reversible; cheap, discreet, and easy to administer; less invasive than an intrauterine device and more convenient than a daily pill. It would skip messy, sometimes dangerous side effects, such as weight gain, mood swings, and rare but risky blood clots and strokes. It would embody the sort of “set it and forget it” model that’s become a gold standard for health—and, in his words, be “accepted by the world over.” Talwar’s invention is now in early-stage clinical trials. If all goes well, it could become humanity’s first contraceptive vaccine—one that would prevent pregnancies in a way distinct from any birth control ever cleared for human use. Whether they’re packaged as pills, patches, implants, or shots, most common medical contraceptives work by flooding the body with hormones to put a pause on ovulation. Talwar’s vaccine would do something different: It leaves the menstrual cycle unaltered, instead leveraging the powers of the immune system to keep unwanted pregnancies at bay.

Question of The Day!

Hello, Mr. Bell! This is Samuel, Hannah’s husband. Seeing as how you are so knowledgeable on the topic of antibiotics, I have a question for you. I will have an appointment with BioHealth Clinic in Switzerland to extract a titanium implant, 1 root canal tooth, and then replace them with zirconium implants. For this procedure, their protocol requires antibiotic infusion IV dexamethasone once everyday for 4 days. Normally, I do not want to take any antibiotics and I will have to sign a paper stating that it will be my responsibility if I do not take the IV antibiotics. However, they say that taking it by IV, is not the same as taking it orally. What are your thoughts on this? And what would you recommend, homeopathically, since I do not want to take antibiotics?
We listen to nearly all of your podcasts and enjoy following you. We are so grateful for your advices and the truth you speak. You have had a great impact on our family. Thank you : )
Samuel (France)
