Sacred Fire of Liberty!
It’s that time of the week where we get to explore the political healing that this country needs so desperately! Jonathan Emord is back to help us dissect the latest political news that’s fit to print:
Biden Lacks the Moral Authority to Define America Biden’s September 1 address from Independence Hall rests on a false premise, that he has the moral authority to define America’s “soul.” Biden lacks that authority. His embrace of unlimited government in place of protection for individual freedom of choice contradicts and flouts America’s founding principles and makes a mockery of Independence Hall, a hallowed shrine to leaders who refused authoritarian power in favor of individual sovereignty and freedom of choice. Biden’s sanctimonious recitation of platitudes selectively culled from the orbit of American liberty is not only vacuous, demagogic, and insincere but lacks the power of persuasion, an intellectual talent beyond Biden’s cognitively fragile mind but also apparently beyond the reach of his speech writers. The term “soul” has been defined as the spiritual part of a human being. Spirituality is, of course, of God. To presume to define America’s soul, a person must at least have sufficient virtue to avoid hypocrisy. One would not ask a pedophile to lecture on how best to raise a child; a serial killer on the second great commandment; or a corrupt politician on America’s “soul.” And yet Biden’s handlers had the audacity to have one of the most corrupt politicians in American history lecture us all on our collective soul.
Senate Democrats back Biden’s portrayal of ‘MAGA Republicans’ as threats to democracy Democratic senators this week are defending President Biden’s tough talk against “MAGA Republicans,” including recent speeches in which Biden said those Republicans represent a threat to democracy. “I certainly agree that those that have denied the legitimacy of the last election or call the insurrection of Jan. 6 anything other than what it was – I think they are running a risk to our democratic institutions,” Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., told Fox News Digital. “He’s made it very clear that what he’s talking about is the fact that there are regrettably movements in this country that are challenging the validity of the right of our citizens to vote,” Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., said. The comments come after Biden gave an address from Philadelphia, in front of Independence Hall, last Thursday in which he said, “Equality and democracy are under assault.” Behind that assault, Biden said, is a GOP that is “dominated, driven and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans.” The president doubled down on those comments in a campaign speech in Wisconsin, accusing “MAGA” Republican members of Congress of being “full of anger, violence and hate.” The president faced stiff blowback from Republicans for the comments. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., who gave a pre-buttal address before Biden’s Thursday speech, said Biden has “chosen to divide, demean, and disparage his fellow Americans.” McCarthy demanded Biden apologize to “millions” of Americans.
Newly released emails show coordination between social media companies and Biden administration on COVID information Top-ranking Biden administration officials appear to have pressured Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms to censor content the federal government considered misinformation, according to federal government emails obtained by two Republican state attorneys general. The emails, procured in a federal lawsuit filed by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt and Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, detail months of apparent coordination between federal administration officials and social media giants on how to address information regarding COVID-19. “The discovery provided so far demonstrates that this censorship enterprise is extremely broad,” Schmitt and Landry said in a joint statement. The lawsuit’s discovery identified 45 federal officials who communicated with social media executives on what information to censor. The new revelations add to questions on whether it was appropriate for social media fact-checkers to censor contrarian views, even inside America’s scientific community. Facebook, for example, affixed a “Missing Context” label to Johns Hopkins surgeon Marty Makary’s Wall Street Journal op-ed, which was on how social media companies put their thumb on the scale in scientific debates over COVID-19. When questioned, the social media giant’s fact-checkers said a team of three scientists disagreed with Dr. Makary’s conclusion. Although it’s not clear if administration officials intervened specifically on Makary’s op-ed, other posts and tweets were directly called out by the White House and removed by social media companies shortly after.
Judge Gives Fauci 21 Days to Turn Over Emails With Social Media Giants A federal judge on Tuesday ordered top-ranking Biden administration officials — including Dr. Anthony Fauci and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre — to hand over their communications with five social media giants within 21 days. The ruling stems from a lawsuit filed earlier this year by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt and Louisiana Attorney General Jeffrey Landry alleging the Biden administration colluded with Big Tech firms Twitter, Meta (Facebook’s parent company), Youtube, Instagram and LinkedIn to censor certain viewpoints under the guise of preventing the circulation of “misinformation” or “disinformation.” U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty in July ordered the Biden administration to swiftly produce records requested by the plaintiffs as part of the discovery process. On Aug. 2, Schmitt and Landry filed discovery requests seeking documents and information from the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and its director, Fauci; White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre; Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy; and former Disinformation Governance Board executive director Nina Jankowicz. Attorneys for the plaintiffs also sent discovery requests to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and its director, Jen Easterly; the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS); and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
JCPA Defenders Say Media Cartel Bill Will Help Suppress ‘Misinformation’ Lobbyists for big media companies are working overtime to get Republican lawmakers on board with the Journalism Competition and Preservation Act (JCPA), promising it will somehow protect conservative media. Yet those same lobbyists are telling Democrats the bill will help curtail “misinformation” online — a buzzword for censoring conservatives. The bill would create an antitrust exemption for media companies, allowing them to form a cartel to collectively pressure Big Tech companies for special favors. This exacerbates one of the most anti-conservative trends to come out of Silicon Valley — the elevation of legacy media on Big Tech platforms, and the suppression of its competitors. And the bill’s supporters have been open about the fact that suppression of so-called “misinformation” is the goal. In March 2021, when the JCPA was first introduced, David Chavern, the President and CEO of the News Media Alliance made this goal clear. The News Media Alliance is an umbrella group representing the largest and wealthiest legacy media companies in the U.S. and is the lobbying group that has been most aggressive and persistent in its attempts to pass this bill. Urging lawmakers to pass the bill, Chavern wrote “the cost of inaction, in terms of the spread of misinformation we are all experiencing, is simply too great to ignore any longer.” At a House Judiciary Committee hearing, Chavern and other media lobbyists repeated the same line of argument. The media, said Chavern, deserved to be bailed out by Congress because it “acted as a clear antidote to the scores of misinformation impacting communities across the country.”
Biden to channel Kennedy in his push for a cancer ‘moonshot’ President Joe Biden next week will highlight his plans for drastically reducing cancer deaths and boosting treatments for the disease in what he has called “this generation’s moonshot,” the White House announced Wednesday. Biden’s speech at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston on Monday will come on the 60th anniversary of his predecessor’s speech outlining his vision for putting the first man on the moon. The White House said Biden will outline what his administration is doing to “end cancer as we know it.” The issue is personal for Biden, whose son Beau Biden died in 2015 of brain cancer. Biden launched the cancer moonshot the following year when serving as President Barack Obama’s vice president.
Hour 2
A cardiologist says she’s seeing a rise in 20-somethings with heart arrhythmias caused by herbal supplements Cardiologists are sounding the alarm on herbal supplements, which are giving their young patients heart problems. California-based cardiologist Dr. Danielle Belardo said the most common cause of heart arrhythmia, or irregular heartbeat, presenting in her 20-something patients stems from taking herbal supplements. Belardo said her patients come in taking herbs like bitter orange and ephedra, both linked to irregular heartbeats in case studies and clinical research. It’s not always straightforward to sort out which compound is the culprit, since Belardo’s patients often take multiple supplements, and the supplement trend is growing faster than researchers can keep up. “This is drawing on the cusp of what we know with regards to herbal supplements and arrhythmia,” Belardo told Insider. “Since there’s such poor regulation of the formulation, the purity, and the efficacy of these herbals, we don’t have any robust literature to tell us exactly what’s causing what.” The US does not closely regulate the $1.5 trillion wellness industry, meaning supplement makers are not required by law to provide proof of safety or strength of their product.
Special Guest Jonathan Otto
Jonathan Otto is an investigative journalist, filmmaker and humanitarian. His life narrative is characterised by his unceasing desire to uncover truth and alleviate suffering.
The Australian-born filmmaker attributes a childhood experience as being the catalyst for his passion. A seven-year-old Jonathan was watching television when he saw a commercial promoting child sponsorship. As he saw the footage of the thin and malnourished child on the screen he was overcome with emotion. Jonathan began to cry and begged his mother to donate. It was in that moment that the humanitarian heart was born within him.
As a result of volunteering throughout his adolescent years, Jonathan, at the age of 18, became a Youth Ambassador for the charity, World Vision. World Vision organised his first volunteer mission to Africa. Faced with the despair and hopelessness of poverty, Jonathan’s passion to help others grew deeper. After returning from his trip, Jonathan travelled from school to school and on children’s television programs, encouraging them to do their part to end world poverty. Jonathan was then noticed by his local government, and was awarded Australian Youth Citizen of the Year (Lake Macquarie, 2004).
In more recent years, Jonathan has turned his attention to seeking truth and exposing error in the area of health and wellness. This has led him to create and collaborate as an editor and producer on many health films and projects, such as the docu-series, The Truth About Cancer and The Truth About Vaccines (with Ty Bollinger), Diet Against Disease with Dr. Joseph Mercola, and more recently in Jonathan’s self-hosted series, Bible Health Secrets and Autoimmune Secrets. These documentaries represent his unceasing global quest to find truth, gathering stories and protocols from world-renowned experts and their patients. Jonathan has been featured in international TV broadcast, print media, national news, and radio broadcast.
Jonathan is happily married to his wife, Lori. They are both committed Christians and regularly speak at their local church in San Diego, California.

What are psychobiotics? Psychobiotics may bring to mind images of a music festival or a Beatles song, but they are not as psychedelic as they sound. Psychobiotics are probiotics and prebiotics that have an impact on our mental state due to their interaction with our gut microbiome. This interaction is known as the gut-brain axis and is a growing area of research in the management of conditions that involve the brain, such as depression, anxiety and dementia. Digestive conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) are often found in tandem with mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety, but what exactly is the link between IBS and anxiety? Plus, would an improvement in gut health lead to a correlating improvement in mental health conditions? We spoke to the experts to unpack the science behind psychobiotics to see if some of the best probiotics can have psychological benefits too. Professor Glenn Gibson, who works in food microbiology at the University of Reading, U.K, explains that psychobiotics is the name given to probiotics that can affect cognitive state. “Probiotics are live microbes with benefits,” he says. “I think prebiotics have also come into the psychobiotic category – these are growth promoters for beneficial microbes.” A review in the Journal of Food and Drug Analysis (opens in new tab) defines psychobiotics as “a group of probiotics that affect central-nervous-system-related functions and behaviors mediated by the gut-brain-axis via immune, humoral, neural and metabolic pathways.” Another review, in the journal of Trends in Neuroscience (opens in new tab), also includes prebiotics within the definition of psychobiotics, as these also impact the health of the gut microbiome.
