Sacred Fire of Liberty!
It’s that time of the week where we get to explore the political healing that this country needs so desperately! Jonathan Emord is back to help us dissect the latest political news that’s fit to print:
Josh Hawley introduces PELOSI Act to bar lawmakers from trading stocks and profiting while in office A Republican in the U.S. Senate is looking to prevent lawmakers and their spouses from trading stocks on which the officials would have privileged information and used the bill’s title to make a not-so-subtle dig at former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. On Tuesday, Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., introduced the PELOSI Act, officially the Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments Act, requiring members and their spouses to divest any holdings or put them in a blind trust within six months of entering office. “Members of Congress and their spouses shouldn’t be using their position to get rich on the stock market – today l’m introducing legislation to BAN stock trading & ownership by members of Congress. I call it the PELOSI Act,” he wrote Tuesday on Twitter. The bill comes after revelations last year that Nancy’s husband, Paul Pelosi, traded between $1 million and $5 million of stocks for semiconductors just days before Congress allocated $52 million to the industry. The stocks were later sold at a loss to remove the appearance of impropriety.
Poll: Majority Prefer a Government Shutdown to Spending More A Rasmussen Reports poll indicated that 56 percent of the respondents would rather have a partial government shutdown until Congress can cut spending or keep it the same. And only 34 percent said they would rather see the opposite, higher spending levels, to avoid a government shutdown. Additionally, when looked at by party, 73 percent of Republicans and 56 percent of independent respondents said they would prefer to have a partial government shutdown until Congress can figure out a way to cut spending or keep it the same, while only 41 percent of Democrats felt the same way. On the other hand, more Democrats (50 percent) would prefer to have more spending to avoid a government shutdown. This poll comes as House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and the House Republicans will soon have to negotiate a deal to clear the debt ceiling with the Democrats. However, conservative Republicans in the House have been firm on slashing spending before raising the ceiling. In comparison, four years ago under former President Donald Trump, the same poll found that 54 percent preferred a shutdown when Democrats fought over the debt ceiling, with only 31 percent saying that they preferred the opposite. The poll also found that most voters think there is a spending problem, with 66 percent believing it is due to “politicians’ unwillingness to reduce government spending,” while 21 percent think “taxpayers are more to blame for the size of the deficit.”
Former Vice President Mike Pence discovered classified documents in Indiana home Former Vice President Mike Pence informed Congress on Tuesday that he discovered documents bearing classified markings from his time as vice president in his Carmel, Indiana, home on Jan. 16. Following the revelations that classified documents from President Joe Biden’s tenure as vice president were found at the Penn Biden Center think tank and Wilmington, Delaware, Pence’s team conducted searches of Pence’s Indiana home and the office of his political advocacy group, Advancing American Freedom. According to his team, Pence informed the National Archives on Jan. 18 that a small number of potential classified documents were found in two small boxes. Another two boxes contained copies of vice presidential papers. The National Archives then informed the FBI, per standard procedure. Pence attorney Greg Jacob wrote on Jan. 18 to Acting Director Kate Dillon McClure of the White House Liaison Division National Archives and Records Administration to inform her of the papers “containing classified markings.” After the documents with classified markings were discovered, they were immediately put into a safe, according to the Pence team. The documents were collected by the FBI at Pence’s home in Carmel, Indiana, on Thursday evening, Jan. 19. Pence was in Washington, D.C., for the annual March for Life when the FBI collected the documents.
White House Again Stonewalls Press on Classified Doc Scandal After Claiming Transparency White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre continued Tuesday to stonewall reporters on questions related to President Joe Biden’s classified documents scandal despite her repeated claims of providing transparency. Legal experts suggest Jean-Pierre’s refusal to answer questions lacks any legal or logical reason. Jean-Pierre refused to answer questions about why Biden possessed classified information. “We know the President did it. Why did he do it?” Fox News’s Peter Doocy asked. “I’d refer you to the White House Counsel’s office,” Jean-Pierre responded. “In the President’s own words, he admits to having information that wasn’t his. Why did he smuggle it out?” Doocy pressed. “I’m not going to go down a rabbit hole on this,” Jean-Pierre replied. The White House House press secretary also refused to answer why Biden visited his Wilmington home after the special counsel was named. “After a special counsel was named, but before the FBI searched, President Biden went to his house in Wilmington. What was he doing in there?” Doocy asked. Karine Jean-Pierre replied, “I would refer you to the White House Counsel’s Office.” Additional stonewalling was used when a reporter asked if the president objected to a search of the University of Delaware for classified documents. The DOJ is reportedly weighing whether to search additional locations linked to Biden.
‘Liberal’ may finally be shedding its political stigma More than half of Democrats now identify as liberal, suggesting that the long-vilified “L-word” may be losing its potency as political kryptonite. A generation of Democratic presidential contenders, from Michael Dukakis to Bill Clinton, ducked the liberal brand. Republicans disparaged liberals as weak-willed softies. Democratic candidates faced perennial accusations of closet liberalism. In the millennial era, the L-word seems to be shedding its stigma. The share of avowed Democrats who describe themselves as liberal has more than doubled since 1994, reaching 54 percent in 2022, according to Gallup polling. “When you look at the way conservatives brand Democrats, they’ve gone way past ‘liberal,’” said Marc Hetherington, a political scientist at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. “Now, it’s ‘socialist.’” Presidents Obama and Biden both fended off the socialist tag. In 2021, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and other conservatives mockingly referred to Biden’s economic recovery plan as “Build Back Socialist.” The L-word has taken a circuitous journey through the annals of American politics. From FDR through JFK, liberalism “was a positive term, politically,” said Matt Dallek, a political historian at George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management.
Hour 2
Project Veritas has broken Pfizer’s Gain-of-Function Research Program Wide Open Yesterday I was asked to be a part of the Project Veritas video that exposes a Pfizer Director discusses making a “Mutating” COVID-19 virus for new vaccines via ‘Directed Evolution’ research. Of course, I was honored to help. The above video is the final product. Discussions concerning the deep evil which underlies the COVIDcrisis has become common among the many communities which Jill and I visit while traveling the world. Here is the rough beast in the flesh, slouching towards Bethlehem to be born. Devoid of empathy. Avarice its purpose. It’s face glowing with joy, oblivious to the profound human tragedy it enables, reveling in the damage wrought to the web of humanity and the structure of a nation. Oblivious to the horror embodied in its words, in the very fabric of its language. Possessed by a deep belief in its own entitlement. Oozing dizzy narcissism. Celebrating corruption. Completely devoid of wisdom, introspection or self-awareness of the fundamental perversion of its soul. A senior emissary from an immortal corporation, which courts have defined as having rights formerly restricted to human citizens, and which chronically preys and feeds on human suffering. A corporation which shrugs off massive fines for illegal activities as just another inconvenience, a mere business expense.
Special Guest Danielle Baker
Danielle Baker was an active RN (Certified Hospice and Palliative Care)for 20 years who loved her job. She spent the last 17 years caring for her patients in hospice care. In June of 2021, she was coerced into taking the COVID-19 “vaccine” after her former employer issued anemail stating a July deadline if the employee’s wanted to maintain all of their benefits. Having a family to care for, she couldn’t afford to lose her job, so she reluctantly took the Pfizer jabs. Within 2.5 weeks after her last shot, she became completely disabled, suffering from severe neurological issues, demyelination of the spine, and getting the diagnosis of transverse myelitis, which her doctor confirmed was due to the Pfizer jab. Since that time, Danielle has been unable to work as she has difficulty completing even the simplest tasks such as walking and self-care. She lives in constant suffering each day, never knowing the degree of difficulty she will face each day. She has three core physicians, but has seen several other doctors in an attempt to find relief to no avail. In fact, during her last hospital admission, doctors unfamiliar with her told her she has a psychological problem and suggested they order a psychiatric evaluation. Knowing that no one filed a VAERS report on her behalf, Danielle filed her own. She sent the FDA an email explaining her situation to warn others what can happen after these shots, and to let the FDAknow she was filing a VAERS report. After this email, she noticed her finalized report in the system had mysteriously disappeared. Is the FDA intentionally removing such claims of injury? Danielle is one of the first nurses to go on disability due to the COVID-19 jab in the state of Ohio and is also now on social security disability. She has an active worker’s compensation case against her former employer and hopes to become a trailblazer, opening the door for others in similar situations to seek the justice they deserve.
Latino Teens Are Deputized as Health Educators to Sway the Unvaccinated Classmates often stop Alma Gallegos as she makes her way down the bustling hallways of Theodore Roosevelt High School in southeast Fresno, California. The 17-year-old senior is frequently asked by fellow students about covid-19 testing, vaccine safety, and the value of booster shots. Alma earned her reputation as a trusted source of information through her internship as a junior community health worker. She was among 35 Fresno County students recently trained to discuss how covid vaccines help prevent serious illness, hospitalization, and death, and to encourage relatives, peers, and community members to stay up to date on their shots, including boosters. When Alma’s internship drew to a close in October, she and seven teammates assessed their work in a capstone project. The students took pride in being able to share facts about covid vaccines. Separately, Alma persuaded her family to get vaccinated. She said her relatives, who primarily had received covid information from Spanish-language news, didn’t believe the risks until a close family friend died. “It makes you want to learn more about it,” Alma said. “My family is all vaccinated now, but we learned the hard way.”
