Exclusive: Public Health Emergency in U.S. Set to Expire May 11 — But EUA Vaccines, Liability Shields Aren’t Going Away Anytime Soon President Joe Biden earlier this month signed H.J.Res. 7, a bill that immediately rescinded the COVID-19 national emergency declared in March 2020, by former President Donald Trump. But a separate Public Health Emergency (PHE), declared in January 2020 by Trump’s U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary, won’t expire until May 11 — and there are at least three more emergency declarations in effect at the federal level, at least two of which are set to remain in effect past May 11. These two emergency declarations — issued under the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Act and the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) provision of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act — affect the administration of COVID-19 vaccines and therapeutics and their accompanying liability shield. For example, COVID-19 vaccines issued under EUA will continue to be administered even past May 11, despite the end of the PHE and the national emergency, and their legal liability shield will remain in place. “The president’s decision to end the COVID pandemic emergency will not affect vaccines, masks or other public health emergency responses, said Ray Flores, senior counsel to Children’s Health Defense (CHD).

Georgia Mother of 7 Denied Kidney Transplant for Refusing COVID-19 Shot A 41-year-old Georgia mother of seven young children has been rejected as a candidate for a kidney transplant by Emory Healthcare Inc., even though she’s on dialysis and potentially facing death. The reason? The woman, who has already had COVID-19, refused to receive the COVID-19 vaccine on religious and medical grounds. The woman, who will be referred to as Jane Doe to protect her privacy, was referred to Atlanta-based Emory by her nephrologist after suddenly developing end-stage kidney disease, according to Liberty Counsel (LC), a national nonprofit legal organization that’s assisting Doe. The seriousness of Doe’s condition necessitates her undergoing dialysis three times per week to keep her alive. Following an evaluation by one of the transplant center’s nurse practitioners, Doe was initially found to be an acceptable candidate for a new kidney, even though she reported that she hadn’t been vaccinated against COVID-19, according to Liberty Counsel. Doe’s hopes were soon dashed when, after another consultation with Emory staffers, a social worker informed her that she couldn’t be added to the transplant program’s “active waiting list” until she took the vaccine.

Anthony Fauci Says Don’t Blame Him for COVID Lockdowns and School Closures If you’re looking for someone to blame for the infamous “15 days to slow the spread” that turned into more than a year of shuttered schools, closed businesses, and fraying social connections, Anthony Fauci says don’t look at him. “Show me a school that I shut down and show me a factory that I shut down,” says Fauci, the former White House coronavirus czar and now-retired public health official who became the face of both the Trump and Biden administrations’ handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, in a lengthy sit-down with The New York Times. “Never. I never did.” The interview is framed by the Times as an inside look at Fauci as he “wrestles with the hard lessons of the pandemic—and the decisions that will define his legacy.” But when it comes time to answer the tough questions about who was at fault for America’s botched response to COVID-19, the good doctor is happy to pass the buck. The blame is spread around, not only to the CDC and the other public health apparatuses for which Fauci became a convenient (and willing) personification but also to the politicians who followed public health recommendations without any consideration of the costs involved.
FDA: Vaccines Don’t Have To Prevent Infection Or Transmission Vaccines don’t have to prevent infection or transmission to be cleared in the United States, the country’s top regulatory agency said in a new document. “It is important to note that FDA’s authorization and licensure standards for vaccines do not require demonstration of the prevention of infection or transmission,” Dr. Peter Marks, a top official at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), said in the document. Marks was writing as he rejected nearly all recommendations from a group of experts that advised the FDA to update the labels for the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. Vaccines are traditionally known as drugs that prevent an illness. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for years said a vaccine is a product that “produces immunity” while vaccination is an injection of an infectious organism “in order to prevent the disease.” The agency changed its definitions after people correctly noted that COVID-19 vaccines do not prevent infection. The Coalition Advocating for Adequately Labeled Medicines, a group of experts, had called for the FDA to make clear that the COVID-19 vaccines don’t prevent infection or transmission. “There is a widespread (but inaccurate) notion that efficacy against infection and transmission have been established by substantial evidence, and that these vaccines contribute to herd immunity,” the group said, pointing to claims from President Joe Biden, the head of the CDC, and Dr. Anthony Fauci that vaccinated people would not get sick or infected.
The Tucker Carlson Departure From Fox and the Power of Big Pharma Why would Fox News fire its most popular host? On average, one million additional people tuned into Tucker Carlson every night than to the Fox programs before and after his show. He drew four times as many viewers as the 8PM show on CNN, Anderson Cooper 360°. He was the leading draw on Fox’s streaming service, and there is no rising star at the network expected to take his seat. It wasn’t a lack of success that pushed out Carlson, so we are left to speculate why Fox fired their lead anchor. It could have been a battle of egos between Carlson and the Murdochs. Carlson may have threatened to run programming that they disfavored regarding the tapes from January 6, the recent settlement with Dominion, or the coverage of Donald Trump. Any of these explanations would indicate that ego triumphed over financial sense in the boardroom. Carlson is a revenue driver, and the company’s stock tanked after the announcement on Monday. But what if there was a rational economic explanation for his firing? What if the people who own Fox have far more interest in neutering criticism of their other economic holdings than they do in the success of Fox’s television department?

That’s right: In 2023, long after the pandemic has receded years after the data have established both that there is near-zero risk to kids from the disease and that interventions like masking (and monastic silences) are next to useless Still, one tiny private school is clinging to hygiene theater with insane vigilance. Zweig reports that the enforced silence at lunch drove the school’s children — like political prisoners in a Soviet gulag — to contrive secret hand signals as a way of communicating. The school kept these restrictions in place after the end of New York’s mask mandate at the request of teachers. Proving yet again that the discipline (even beyond the grasp of the state’s unions) is filled with left-wing fanatics who embrace COVID theater with the same blind surety they bring to arguments about race or climate change.

I have a question about stevia in Cardio Miracle. I read that stevia can cause or will cause infertility. Is that true because I want my daughter to take Cardio Miracle but she is having a hard time getting pregnant.
