Facebook to target vaccine misinformation with focus on pages, groups, ads Facebook, the world’s largest social media site, will soon take aim against anti-vaxers. The company will start by lowering the ranking of groups and pages that spread misinformation about vaccinations in its News Feed and Search options, a representative said Wednesday. “These Groups and Pages will not be included in recommendations or in predictions when you type into Search,” Monika Bickert, Facebook’s vice president of global policy management, said in a statement. She added that when ads that include misinformation about vaccinations are found, “we will reject them.” Ad accounts that continue to violate company policies may even be disabled. Facebook won’t be disabling personal accounts that post misinformation about vaccines, a spokeswoman told CNN on background. General misinformation doesn’t violate the company’s community standards. If something blatantly violates the standards, it will be removed, but that will not happen to individual posts containing misinformation.

Unvaccinated boy nearly died from tetanus. The cost of his care was almost $1 million. An unvaccinated Oregon boy almost died from tetanus, the first case of the bacterial infection in the state in 30 years. The 6-year-old’s harrowing illness and painful, two-month treatment — which cost close to a million dollars — were detailed by doctors in a case report published Friday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The boy became infected in 2017 after cutting his head while playing outdoors on the family’s farm. His wound was cleaned and stitched by his family at home, according to the Oregon doctors who treated the child and wrote the CDC report. All seemed fine, until six days later when he started crying and experiencing involuntary muscle spasms and clenching his jaw. Soon he was arching his neck and suffering back and muscle contractions throughout his body.

U.S. GOVERNMENT HEARINGS ON VACCINATION MISS MARK, LOST OPPORTUNITY FOR OPEN DEBATE For anyone who was looking for discussion beyond limited talking points currently offered by corporate media and government regulatory bodies, the recent U.S. Senate Committee On Health, Education Labor & Pensions (HELP) hearing was not the place. With the notable exception of Senator Rand Paul’s points, the hearing was a missed opportunity to bridge the growing gap of a distrustful public’s need for deeper answers and open discussion surrounding inconvenient truths about vaccination. Senator Lamar Alexander, Chairman of the HELP committee, presided over the recent Vaccine Save Lives hearing. Sen. Alexander has accepted $714,112 from the “pharmaceutical/health products” sector, which includes many vaccine manufacturers, according to OpenSecrets.org. The hearing’s title signaled to America that probing questions that may cast the vaccine industry and its products in an unfavorable light would most likely be omitted in favor of one-sided banter. In Sen. Alexander’s opening statements, he declared anyone who claims that vaccines are not safe were “internet fraudsters.”

Generation X’s existential panic after Luke Perry death When actor Luke Perry, best known for portraying TV heartthrob Dylan McKay on the ’90s teen drama “Beverly Hills, 90210,” died Monday after suffering a massive stroke, there were the usual public displays of sadness when a public figure leaves us. But his passing was especially painful for people of a certain age. As one fan expressed on Twitter: “I’m in mourning for Generation X today, for real.” Perry died at just 52 years old. Which makes him the first Gen X icon to succumb to natural causes. That’s an unsettling reality check to those of us who identify as Gen Xers, the 65 million people born between 1965 and 1980. We’re used to death — we’ve lost plenty of heroes to drugs and suicide, everyone from Kurt Cobain to River Phoenix to Chris Cornell. But Perry is the first to die of something we only expect to happen to old people.

DC bill would give teens the power to vaccinate without parental consent A new bill in D.C. would give teens the power to vaccinate without parental consent. Debrah Dunner, whose mother was crippled by polio says she thinks it’s an important step in the right direction. Dunner, along with council member Mary Cheh, who proposed the bill, are concerned about the declining rate of vaccinations in the district. On Tuesday, an Ohio teen testified in a Senate hearing that he chose to get vaccinated when he turned 18, defying the wishes of his anti-vaxxer parents. He believes they were being led by misinformation.  Council member Cheh’s bill would allow kids 12 years and older the ability to self-consent to vaccinate, like they can do with other medical procedures. They would need a medical professional to say that they are fully competent and aware of the risks and rewards of vaccines. “I’m just real keen that we shouldn’t go backwards. I mean we have some of these diseases under control, and we should keep them under control,” said Cheh, Council Member for Ward 3.

I had C diff around 4 years ago. Ever since I have had digestive and fungal problems/IBS. I have started the Silver Sovereign and Aloe protocol. I am constantly getting sore from wiping the mess after each Bowel Movement. Seems my fungal problem is coming back. Is this normal reaction from all bad fungus is being evacuated in my body? Is there certain foods I need to eat or avoid?

Hello!! I’m sooo happy. Finally!! Someone listened to me. My co worker is diabetic and started having some serious issues. I sat her down and talked to her about chromium and specified Choose to BE Healthy ONLY! She actually listened and it came out in a conversation yesterday that her numbers are the lowest they ‘ve been in a looooong time. I “preach” all the time. Some listen but they hardly ever act. Thank you. I give you, RSB ,all the credit for teaching me about chromium. You are really making a difference. Now, my boss is having problems with her sugar effecting her eyesight. So, guess who came to me for advice? Yep. She did. You rock! You are definitely fulfilling your mission in this life on this planet to heal. Bless you and all the listeners! Signed By Governor: Wyoming Bill Legalizes CBD Despite Ongoing Federal Prohibition On Wednesday, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon signed a bill into law legalizing all hemp and hemp-derived products. This will not only open up hemp markets in Wyoming, but it is also a crucial step given the FDA’s continued regulation of CBD. Rep. Bunky Loucks introduced House Bill 171 (HB171) on Jan 15. The new law removes hemp and hemp products from regulation by the Wyoming Controlled Substances Act, authorizes hemp production and hemp processing in the state, and provides rulemaking authority to the Department of Agriculture. Under the law, hemp is defined as an agricultural crop and “the possession, purchase, sale, transportation and use of hemp and hemp products by any person is allowable without restriction.” Hemp and hemp products are defined as “all parts, seeds and varieties of the plant cannabis sativa l., whether growing or not, or a product, derivative, extract, cannabinoid, isomer, acid, salt or salt of isomer made from that plant.”

Lung Cancer Patient’s Tumors Shrunk In Half After Using CBD Oil An 81-year-old man, who has not yet been identified, managed to shrink his tumors in half after being diagnosed with lung cancer and refusing traditional cancer treatment such as chemotherapy and radiation. The man, who previously smoked around 18 cigarettes per day but quit 45 years ago, repeatedly refused medical treatments offered by doctors after being diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the lung, opted to take cannabidiol (CBD) oil instead. After three months of almost daily use, scans of the man’s lungs showed that, not only did the tumors reduce in size by half, but the progression of the disease was completely reversed. The man’s doctors have published the stunning scans and detailed his case in SAGE.

Some Anti-Vaxxers Aren’t Getting Their Pets Vaccinated. Here’s Why That’s So Dangerous Dogs can’t get autism, and even if they could, vaccines couldn’t cause it. Period. But some anti-vaxxers are increasingly making the same unfounded claims about pets and vaccines they’ve been repeating about children and vaccines for the past 20 years: that vaccines are unnecessary, dangerous and that they can cause a form of (canine) autism, along with other diseases. Just as with kids, that may be driving down pet vaccination rates. And the movement, while niche, shows no sign of stopping; in some states in the U.S., anti-vax activists have recently agitated to make state laws about mandatory pet vaccinations more lax. The problem is acute in the United Kingdom. In its most recent annual report, Britain’s People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) surveyed more than than 4,600 pet owners and found that in 2018, about 25% of dogs—2.2 million of them—had not had their necessary vaccinations when they were young. That’s roughly on par with rates last year, which had jumped significantly. The most common reason people gave for not vaccinating their dog—accounting for 20% of responses—was that “it’s not necessary.”
