Wednesday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
Happy Independence Day!
Special Guest Michael Badnarik!
In honor of the holiday, we need to bring back our Constitutional Scholar friend from the Republic of Texas! Who knows more about what it means to stand up for your rights and liberty than those who proudly, “Remember the Alamo!”
Michael has been studying and teaching the constitution for years, and always has something interesting to share. Look for him on all his new social media platforms!
Michael Badnarik has created a constitutional primer that will edify and entertain schoolchildren and seasoned libertarians alike. Good to be King: The Foundation of Our Constitutional Freedom presents a thoroughly readable explanation of how our constitutional republic should work, and how the system became broken in the fi rst place. Mr. Badnarik starts with fundamentals, identifying the difference between rights and privileges. He discusses the critical and needed distinction between republican and democratic systems of government, arguing that freedom can survive in America only if we return to our republican roots. He also illustrates the forgotten tenets of federalism and states’ rights, arguing that federal usurpation of state power has accelerated the loss of our freedoms. The author then provides a detailed explication of the true meaning of major constitutional provisions and amendments. He does an excellent job of demystifying our founding document, demonstrating that ordinary Americans can and should understand the Constitution and how it applies to their lives. Anyone who believes in limited government—that is to say anyone who believes in liberty—will benefit from reading this book. If we wish to remain free, we must constantly question and challenge conventional views about the proper role of government in our society. Good to Be King will serve as needed ammunition for libertarians and constitutionalists committed to resisting tyranny in America. I commend Michael Badnarik for authoring a compelling text on the foundations of liberty in America. CONGRESSMAN RON PAUL, R-Texas
Hour 2 – Outside The Box With Ty Bollinger!
It’s time to go Outside The Box again with Ty Bollinger! What will we be talking about today?
The Supreme Court ruled vaccines are “unavoidably unsafe” in 2016 – What has changed since? Nothing The Supreme Court recently ruled that vaccines are “unavoidably unsafe” and for good reason. Thousands of children are being compensated for injuries sustained from vaccine injections of known neurotoxins, and not enough research has been done to prove the safety of vaccines. Consider this: What if you were taking a medication that your doctor swore up and down was 100 percent safe and effective for everyone, all the time, and then you read some legal documents that declared there were billions of dollars paid out in settlements for injuries, including for some deaths, to the parents of children and babies who took that exact drug? Then, what if you found out that the manufacturers of that drug were totally exempt from responsibility, and that they did not even have to test the drug properly for safety or efficacy in the first place? Surely it would be time for you to “lawyer up.”
ALEC BALDWIN GOES ON A DIET IN PROTEST OF TRUMP Alec Baldwin has announced he’s going to take part in a “24-hour hunger strike,” also known as a diet or intermittent fast, as some sort of “protest” against President Trump. From People, “Ethel Kennedy, 90, Joins Alec Baldwin and More Stars in Hunger Strike Against Trump Immigration Policy”: Ethel Kennedy, the 90-year-old widow of Robert F. Kennedy, has joined Alec Baldwin, Evan Rachel Wood, Sen.Elizabeth Warren and more big names in a hunger strike protesting President Trump’s “zero tolerance” immigration policy. They wait until the sixth paragraph to inform readers that their “hunger strike” consists of a 24-hour intermittent fast. The fast, which started Saturday, will last for 24 days, in honor of the estimated 2,400 children who have been separated from their parents due to Trump’s policy. Each participant is asked to fast for 24 hours and make a donation in place of the meals they would have eaten. Intermittent fasting is all the rage lately, so I’m not sure how they’re passing off this vanity-driven weight loss regimen as a “protest” or a “hunger strike.”
Billionaire Richard Branson: America should give out free cash to fix income inequality One solution to income inequality is giving out free cash, according to the British billionaire entrepreneur Richard Branson. “A basic income should be introduced in Europe and in America,” Branson told David Gelles of The New York Times. Branson was responding to the question, “What do you think those in positions of power should do to address social problems like income inequality?” In a report published in January, the global charity Oxfam found that 82 percent of the growth in global wealth in the previous year went to the top 1 percent of individuals ranked by riches. Meanwhile, the bottom 50 percent had no increase in their wealth, the report says. “It’s a disgrace to see people sleeping on the streets with this material wealth all around them,” Branson said. A universal basic income, as it’s known, is a cash payment distributed to residents irrespective of their employment status.
