Friday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
AS MEASLES CASES CLIMB, OUR MISSION IS CLEAR: TAKE DOWN THE THREE-HEADED ANTI-VAX MONSTER Almost 20 years after measles was eliminated in the United States, there are signs that the disease is back. So far in 2019, there have been almost 800 measles cases across America, and it’s not clear what might happen next. The potential good news is that as we move into the warmer summer months, measles cases may decline. This is what usually happened in the United States during the prevaccine era. The bad news is that measles has also returned to Europe, so that with frequent summer travel to and from countries such as Italy, France and Greece, measles might be frequently reintroduced into unvaccinated populations. And based on our research published last year in the Public Library of Science, there are at least 100 pockets in the U.S. where large numbers of kids are not being vaccinated.
Special Guest – Rita Palma
Rita Palma of My Kids, My Choice, while not a New York City resident, has firsthand experience with the arbitrary and capricious application of religious exemptions in New York State. She and her husband were subjected to questions about their food choices and vitamin usage, as well as questions about their religious faith, when they appealed their exemption denial multiple times. As a result of their horrid treatment at the hands of a board of education, including the district superintendent, the board president, and the commissioner of education, Rita vowed that she would change the way New York treats parents seeking exemptions. She began My Kids, My Choice in order to help other parents navigate their way through the system and is a tireless advocate for vaccine choice with the New York State legislature.
New York Alliance for Vaccine Rights is a 501c(3) organization that seeks to educate families and individuals about their vaccination rights and how to protect them through political action. The New York Alliance for Vaccine Rights is compromised of a variety of groups, organizations and individuals that stand united in opposition to bills within New York State legislature that threaten our constitutional rights and freedom to raise our families in accordance with our beliefs. The Alliance encompasses a diverse set of perspectives that share the common ground that vaccination is a decision that should be made by family and individuals.
Measles Outbreak: N.Y. Is Still Allowing Religious Vaccine Exemptions As New York has emerged as the epicenter of a national outbreak of measles, local lawmakers and health officials have struggled to compel some ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities, where most of the cases have been found, to drop their resistance to vaccinations. Public health emergencies have been declared in New York City and Rockland County; summonses have been issued to those not abiding by vaccination requirements; and schools have been closed. But state lawmakers have thus far resisted passing a bill that would eliminate religious exemptions for vaccinations. The exact reason for the lawmakers’ reluctance is unclear, but could stem from a number of factors, including opposition from groups like the Robert F. Kennedy Jr.-led Children’s Health Defense, an anti-vaccination group, as well as sensitivity about religious constituents, particularly ultra-Orthodox groups, who have often wielded political influence.
De Blasio: Measles ‘reality’ has nothing to do with religious vaccine exemptions Mayor Bill de Blasio argued against the idea that religious exemptions to vaccinations were a significant factor in spreading measles, even as New York City is at the epicenter of one of the worst outbreaks of the disease in a generation. The mayor said he was still considering a bill being debated in Albany that would end religious and non-medical exemptions to the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine. He argued, during an unrelated press conference in the Bronx, that the problem isn’t really with current law but with anti-vaccine propagandists who targeted Orthodox Jews in Brooklyn. “Just listen to my logic pattern here,” he told reporters at an unrelated press conference Tuesday. “Somehow ending the religious exemptions doesn’t address what happened here where the anti-vaxxers convinced people not to get vaccinations. That’s the root problem.”

Question of The Day!
There was a local news segment on Spectrum News (Albany, NY) about the Measles vaccine about why people are afraid of vaccines. Of course it was all propaganda and at the end of the segment they said that they will mandate vaccination for all adults.
What can people in upstate do to prevent this from happening and is there a vaccine rights attorney that the people in this area can contact to be protected from this? I tried to record the segment on my phone when it reran but it didn’t repeat until like 3 hours and then I missed the beginning. I can download it into my computer, how would I get the video to you.

Ohio Advocates for Medical Freedom is a non-partisan group advocating for your right to choose or refuse any medical treatment or procedure. OAMF is comprised of ordinary people who have come together with one goal in mind. That goal is the preservation of freedom, more specifically medical freedom. OAMF is a diverse group of people with professions including doctors, nurses, engineers, lawyers, and other healthcare providers. We all share the same concern and have learned that the only way to stop medical mandates and the infringement on medical rights is to organize and push back against bad legislation and policies. We base our strategies in fact and truth and present that information to the public and legislators. It is important that factual information is presented, so the opposition (the side willing to sacrifice freedom for personal gain) cannot dispute what we present.
Update on Alan Phillips
Alan provided documents ordered, NC Bar claims inadequate, Judge throws Alan in jail for another two days! On Thursday, May 9, 2019, Attorney Alan Phillips was was ordered back to jail for another 48hrs! After a 48hr jail penalty for contempt of court last week, where Alan refused to breach attorney client privilege by providing the NC State Bar confidential client files, Alan decided to comply with the court order and appeared in court today in good faith providing all of the documentation that he believed the court had requested. However, the North Carolina State Bar insisted that he had omitted documentation. When Alan repeatedly asked the court to identify what they were specifically seeking that he was missing, he was essentially laughed at, being told that he should know what he’s missing and maybe another couple days in jail would give him time to think about it. Alan has done nothing illegal, the NC State Bar has not provided the court any evidence of wrongdoing on Alan’s part, and this entire lawsuit is a fishing expedition (which is illegal) to try and discover some wrongdoing on Alan’s part in an effort to silence him and/or retaliate against him for filing a complaint against the Bar. Alan, as well as a number of organizations across the country (including OAMF) have filed complaints against the bar through their grievance process and all complaints have been dismissed.
Question of The Day!
Is there anything you would recommend for a child with an abscess in her mouth. We are using silver but was wondering if there is anything else we can do?
Trump administration to require drug prices in TV ads Drug makers will have to start including the list price of medications in their television ads, the Trump administration announced Wednesday. The move is the first rule implemented from the administration’s blueprint to lower drug costs, which was released a year ago. “Requiring the inclusion of drugs’ list prices in TV ads is the single most significant step any administration has taken toward a simple commitment: American patients deserve to know the prices of the healthcare they receive,” said Health & Human Services Secretary Alex Azar. Lowering drug prices has been a central focus of President Donald Trump, as well as lawmakers on both sides of the aisle. The House passed two bipartisan drug price bills Wednesday aimed at making lower-cost generic drugs more available — with no votes opposed to the measures.
Let people smoke, drink and eat red meat – Norwegian health minister Sylvi Listhaug also said smokers were made to feel like pariahs. A populist politician with anti-immigration views, she was appointed as the new health minister on Friday, a year after being forced to quit over a security row. Critics say she has little understanding of what public health is. “My starting point for this with public health is very simple. I do not plan to be the moral police, and will not tell people how to live their lives, but I intend to help people get information that forms the basis for making choices,” she told Norwegian broadcaster NRK in an interview on Monday. “People should be allowed to smoke, drink and eat as much red meat as much as they want. The authorities may like to inform, but people know pretty much what is healthy and what is not healthy, I think.” Smokers were made to feel like pariahs, Ms Listhaug, herself a former smoker, added.
