Italy could ‘section’ people who refuse treatment for Covid-19 Italy’s health minister has proposed “sectioning” people who refuse hospital treatment for Covid-19 and has suspended flights from Bangladesh as the southern European country grapples with several new coronavirus outbreaks. The potential move towards forced hospitalisations came after a cluster of infections arose in the northern Veneto region, triggered by a man who developed coronavirus symptoms on the day he returned from a business trip to Serbia and initially resisted treatment in hospital. The 64-year-old, from Vicenza, is now in a serious but stable condition in hospital. Five others tested positive and 89 people were quarantined after he attended a funeral and birthday party at which there were more than 100 guests. “I am evaluating with my legal department the hypothesis of compulsory health treatment in cases where a person must be treated but [refuses] to be,” Roberto Speranza, the health minister, said. “At the same time, my thoughts on how Italians have behaved during this crisis are positive, as without this fundamental harmony we would not have bent the [rate of infection] curve.”

Texas County To Arrest COVID-19 Positive Residents Who Refuse To Self-Isolate A South Texas county isn’t taking any chances when it comes to the coronavirus, issuing a warning that anyone who tests positive and refuses to self-isolate could end up in jail. The warning, which was confirmed as legitimate by an Official with the Brooks Count Office of Emergency Management, cites Texas Penal Code 22.05 (a) which states “A person commits an offense if he recklessly engages in conduct that places another in imminent danger of serious bodily injury.” It was shared via social media over the weekend. Of the 10 positive cases so far in Brooks County, four people have recovered, according to KSAT. Someone who is positive for COVID-19 doesn’t even need to have infected another person either, according to the warning, to warrant an arrest. The exposure alone is enough for punishment.

Growing number of Texas sheriffs refuse to enforce governor’s mask requirement A growing number of sheriffs in Texas say they are refusing to follow a recent executive order requiring masks in public. Governor Greg Abbott’s mandate aims to slow the spread of coronavirus, as cases in the state soared past 200,000 on Tuesday. Police officials in at least nine counties — including Denton, Houston, Montgomery, Gillespie, Upshur, Kerr, Gregg, Nacogdoches and Panola — said they will not impose the ruling with verbal or written citations. Some counties cited staffing issues, while others said the language in the order makes it impossible to police. Abbott, a Republican who had previously relaxed coronavirus lockdown measures and did not encourage the use of face masks, reversed his course last week to make masks mandatory statewide and limit gatherings of more than 10 people. Cases have exploded across Texas in recent weeks, pushing hospital staff to their limits. The order states that authorities can fine repeat offenders up to $250, but says offenders cannot be detained or jailed. Several counties said this language makes the rule nearly impossible to enforce, because stopping people could be seen as detaining.

New Docs: NIH Owns Half of Moderna Vaccine New documents obtained by Axios and Public Citizen suggest that the National Institute of Health (NIH) owns half the key patent for Moderna’s controversial COVID vaccine and could collect half the royalties. In addition, four NIH scientists have filed their own provisional patent application as co-inventors. Little known NIH regulations let agency scientists collect up to $150,000.00 annually in royalties from vaccines upon which they worked. These rules are recipes for regulatory corruption. NIH’s stake in the jab may explain why Anthony Fauci moved Moderna’s vaccine to the front of the line and to let Moderna skip animal trials despite the experimental technology and the inherent dangers of Coronavirus vaccines. Every prior coronavirus vaccine has proven problematic and can be lethal to animals due to COVID’s unique penchant for “pathogenic priming.” Death occurs only after a vaccinated animal encounters the wild virus. Public health advocates and scientists criticized Fauci’s decision to skip animal trials as reckless. It may also explain why Anthony Fauci arranged a $483 million grant to Moderna from a sister NIH agency, BARDA, despite the fact that Moderna has never brought a product to market or gotten approval.

BRAIN BUSTER Fears coronavirus will spark brain damage ‘epidemic’ as even mild cases cause inflammation PEOPLE who have contracted the coronavirus could also suffer brain complications, experts have revealed. Conditions such as brain inflammation, strokes, nerve damage and delirium have all been named as complications that could be caused by Covid-19. Experts from University College London’s Institute of Neurology have now warned that a brain damage “epidmic” could be on the way after they found that some patients with the coronavirus did not experience severe respiratory issues. They also said that neurological disorders were the first symptom that some Covid patients presented with. They warned that doctors needed to be aware of neurological effects that could be present when patients have Covid-19 as even mild cases of the virus can cause inflammation. During the study the team identified a rare and fatal inflammatory condition called ADEM (acute disseminated encephalomyelitis) which they found had increased during the pandemic.

Can probiotics help with depression? New research suggests a link A gut-wrenching experience. Butterflies in your stomach. Many of us instinctively feel the connection between our gut and our brain. That connection and how the range of bacteria residing in our digestive tract — our microbiome — might help treat mental illness has become a field of interest for scientists in recent years. A new review of medical literature has suggested that probiotics — foods or supplements containing microbes thought to exert a positive influence on our gut — could help ease depression. “This is good quality research but it is a review of relatively preliminary data,” Allan Young, a professor of mood disorders at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London, told the Science Media Centre in London. “So while this systematic review of the research literature supports the notion that pre and probiotics may be helpful for people with anxiety and depression, more research is needed. These data do make a case for larger trials to be carried out,” said Young, who wasn’t involved in the review.by age 60.

Have high cholesterol? New study says cut out carbs, not saturated fat Cutting out fats is a common go-to “prescription” for people with high cholesterol. A new study says those doctors and dietitians have it all wrong, however: it’s actually carbs that’s the problem. An international team of researchers say they can’t find any reason patients with high cholesterol should avoid eating saturated fats like meat, eggs, and cheese. The group, which includes five cardiologists, adds that a low-carb diet is actually best for people with increased risk of heart disease. Doctors say patients with high cholesterol as a result of a genetic disorder have familial hypercholesterolemia (FH). The condition can cause a person’s cholesterol levels to be two to four times higher than normal. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), men with FH will develop heart disease up to 20 years earlier than normal. Half of men with untreated FH will likely have a heart attack before age 50. For women, 30 percent of untreated FH patients will likely have a heart attack

Hour 2 – Outside The Box With Ty Bollinger!

It’s time to go Outside The Box again with Ty Bollinger! What will we be talking about today?

Introducing the United Medical Freedom Super PAC What does freedom mean to you? The right to free speech? The right to bear arms? The right to worship as you see fit? At its core, freedom means autonomy. The right to decide how you want to live your life. The right to make decisions for you and your family without interference from governments, armies, or corporate interests.  That includes the freedom of medical choice. Can you imagine a world in which the government told you what you could and couldn’t eat? What if there was a mandate telling you how much you needed to exercise or when you should go to bed? The government has absolutely NO BUSINESS meddling in our health and medical choices. And yet that’s exactly what they’re trying to do. Whether you support medical interventions like vaccines and chemotherapy, we all share a common belief that American citizens should never be forced to undergo treatment against their will. But corrupt politicians – and the corporate interests that sponsor them – have been actively fighting to strip you of your fundamental rights. From medical kidnapping to mandatory vaccinations and stay at home orders, our public servants have betrayed us. Those meant to serve the people have taken it upon themselves to strip us of the very freedoms that define us. It’s time to fight back.

Churches Were Eager to Reopen. Now They Are a Major Source of Coronavirus Cases Weeks after President Trump demanded that America’s shuttered houses of worship be allowed to reopen, new outbreaks of the coronavirus are surging through churches across the country where services have resumed. The virus has infiltrated Sunday sermons, meetings of ministers and Christian youth camps in Colorado and Missouri. It has struck churches that reopened cautiously with face masks and social distancing in the pews, as well as some that defied lockdowns and refused to heed new limits on numbers of worshipers. Pastors and their families have tested positive, as have church ushers, front-door greeters and hundreds of churchgoers. In Texas, about 50 people contracted the virus after a pastor told congregants they could once again hug one another. In Florida, a teenage girl died last month after attending a youth party at her church. More than 650 coronavirus cases have been linked to nearly 40 churches and religious events across the United States since the beginning of the pandemic, with many of them erupting over the last month as Americans resumed their pre-pandemic activities, according to a New York Times database.

Modelers Were ‘Astronomically Wrong’ in COVID-19 Predictions, Says Leading Epidemiologist—and the World Is Paying the Price Dr. John Ioannidis became a world-leading scientist by exposing bad science. But the COVID-19 pandemic could prove to be his biggest challenge yet. Ioannidis, the C.F. Rehnborg Chair in Disease Prevention at Stanford University, has come under fire in recent months for his opposition to state-ordered lockdowns, which he says could cause social harms well beyond their presumed benefits. But he doesn’t appear to be backing down. In a wide-ranging interview with Greek Reporter published over the weekend, Ioannidis said emerging data support his prediction that lockdowns would have wide-ranging social consequences and that the mathematical models on which the lockdowns were based were horribly flawed. Ioannidis also said a comprehensive review of the medical literature suggests that COVID-19 is far more widespread than most people realize. “There are already more than 50 studies that have presented results on how many people in different countries and locations have developed antibodies to the virus,” Ioannidis, a Greek-American physician, told Greek Reporter. “Of course none of these studies are perfect, but cumulatively they provide useful composite evidence. A very crude estimate might suggest that about 150-300 million or more people have already been infected around the world, far more than the 10 million documented cases.”

Lessons unlearned: Four years before the CDC fumbled coronavirus testing, the agency made some of the same mistakes with Zika Four years before the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention fumbled the nation’s chance to begin effective early testing for the novel coronavirus, the agency similarly mishandled its efforts to detect another dreaded pathogen. Amid a feared outbreak of the newly emerged Zika virus, senior CDC officials in 2016 sidelined an effective test for it — and instead directed public health laboratories nationwide to use a more complicated test that failed about one-third of the time. The agency’s response to Zika now stands as an unheeded prequel for how the CDC stumbled this year as it confronted the coronavirus pandemic, which has claimed more than 125,000 lives nationwide. Both Zika and the coronavirus originated overseas and became American health emergencies that have challenged the CDC’s ability to carry out its fundamental mission to rapidly identify and contain newly arrived pathogens.  In both emergencies, the CDC pressured the public health labs to shelve the effective tests and to use less reliable kits manufactured by the agency that sought to detect multiple pathogens. The agency stood behind the troubled test kits despite internal data indicating they were flawed. Ultimately, the CDC notified the public lab officials that they could switch to more effective tests.

Trump moves to officially withdraw U.S. from World Health Organization President Trump has taken the first formal step toward withdrawing the U.S. from the World Health Organization, a move that comes as countries around the globe continue to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic that has claimed the lives of more than 540,000 people worldwide. A senior administration official told CBS News that the administration has submitted a notice of withdrawal, which will be effective July 6, 2021, to the United Nations secretary-general, who is the depositary for the WHO. Withdrawing from the organization requires a one-year notice before becoming final. Democratic Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey said Congress has received notification of the withdrawal. Menendez, the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, lambasted the move, tweeting that to call Mr. Trump’s “response to COVID chaotic & incoherent doesn’t do it justice.” “This won’t protect American lives or interests — it leaves Americans sick & America alone,” he said. United Nations Foundation President and CEO Elizabeth Cousens called termination of the U.S. relationship with the WHO “short-sighted, unnecessary and unequivocally dangerous.”

Coronavirus: ‘The masks you throw away could end up killing a whale’ As the world battles the coronavirus pandemic, more and more protective equipment is ending up in the sea. Globally we are using 129 billion face masks and 65 billion plastic gloves every month, according to some estimates. And divers and observers are spotting more of this discarded waste floating underwater, causing problems for wildlife and washing up on shorelines all over the world.
