Special Guest – Josh Hendrix
Born and raised in the Bluegrass State and a University of Kentucky alumnus, Mr. Hendrix relocated back to Central Kentucky in 2014 on a mission to help rebuild the US hemp industry. Seeing a need to bring farmers, processors, manufacturers and supporters of the industry together, Mr. Hendrix founded the Kentucky Hemp Industries Association that summer and still serves on the Board of Directors. He also became an active member of the Kentucky Hemp Industries Council where he now serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors. In 2015 he created and became President of Hendrix Hemp, a licensed hemp producer that manages hemp cultivation on his family’s, Mayflower Farm, in Mount Sterling, KY. In early 2016 Mr. Hendrix was appointed to the Technical Advisory Council for the National Hemp Association and accepted a role on the Senior Advisory Board of the institutional trading platform for hemp, Seed CX. Currently Mr. Hendrix serves as the Director of Business Development – Domestic Production for CV Sciences, Inc. where he works with numerous universities, farmers, businesses, and organizations to help facilitate the infrastructure necessary to establish a modern domestic supply chain for hemp in the United States.
Urge Lawmakers in Oklahoma to Support Hemp! In January 2019, a local Oklahoma police department seized 18,000 pounds of hemp that was being transported from Kentucky to Colorado. Thankfully, those charges were eventually dropped. In response to the national outcry from this issue, Oklahoma’s Senate is considering SB 1783, which authorizes hemp to be transported in and out of state. The bill also expands the current hemp growing program. Please use our portal to encourage Oklahoma legislators to support SB 1783. Our portal makes it super easy. Once you input your zip code, the appropriate email or state petition will populate—with your legislators already identified and an editable message prepared. With a simple click of the button, they will hear your voice loud and clear.
Great News from the USDA…Thanks to YOU! When the USDA released its Interim Final Rule for U.S. domestic hemp production last Halloween, a number of provisions raised significant concerns to hemp farmers and the industry. High on that list was the requirement that all hemp must be tested only at DEA registered labs. Because there are only 47 such labs across the country that meet that qualification – with many states having none or only one — such a requirement would have led to significant bottlenecks in testing, stifling the growth of our emerging industry. The US Hemp Roundtable responded in both formal comments and in private meetings with USDA Undersecretary Greg Ibach and other senior USDA leadership. More than 4700 other commenters joined the battle as well.

Health Freedom Ohio is a group of organized citizens, medical and health professionals dedicated to raising awareness about complementary and alternative pathways to maintain health and wellness. We are able to appreciate a life enriched by our right to maintain health freedom when we are fully aware of our choices. Our goal is to bring exceptional practitioners to light and make connections between those who seek an alternative to allopathic, pharmaceutical-based healthcare and those who are applying these modalities. We aim to succeed where the industry has failed and actively advocate to preserve your fundamental human right of health freedom within the State of Ohio. In addition, through your local government, we create protective bills while challenging existing laws that mandate medicine. It’s your health, your life, your way. We hope you will join us on the journey of discovery and we look forward to learning together.
Ohioans Raise Alarm Bells Regarding Proposed Legislation Columbus, Ohio – On Wednesday, February 26, 2020 concerned Ohio citizens testified in opposition to Senate Concurrent Resolution 10 (SCR 10). Concerns raised during the hearing included using financial incentives to increase vaccine product consumption, public posting of vaccine product consumption rates, and lack of informed consent related to vaccine consumption. Nadera Lopez-Garrity stated during her testimony “I particularly oppose the financial incentives to penalize county health departments whose citizens decline a pharmaceutical product and the intention of publicly posting the rates of consuming such biologics, which not only has no bearing on true immunity but such disclosure would be in violation of Ohioans’ constitutional rights.” According to the SCR 10: “The Director of Health’s proposed revision of Chapter 3701-36 of the Administrative Code includes standards for protecting people from disease and injury, monitoring health status, assuring a safe and healthy environment, promoting healthy lifestyles, and addressing the need for personal health services, as well as procedures for payment of state subsidies for meeting those standards [emphasis added].”
Special Guest Tia Severino and Kevin Tuttle
The ACIP holds three meetings each year at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia to review scientific data and vote on vaccine recommendations. Meetings are open to the public and available online via live webcast.
