Monday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
Conservative website Parler forced offline: web trackers The conservative social network Parler was forced offline Monday, tracking websites showed, after Amazon warned the company would lose access to its servers for its failure to properly police violent content. The site’s popularity soared in recent weeks, becoming the number one free app in Apple’s App Store after the much larger Twitter banned US President Trump from its platform for his role in inciting a riot at the US Capitol last week. Messages of support for Wednesday’s attack in Washington DC — along with calls for new demonstrations — had flourished on the platform, leading Google to remove it from its app store on Friday, followed by Apple on Saturday. Amazon then confirmed it would suspend the platform from its cloud hosting services for allowing “threats of violence.” In a letter to the Parler’s owners, the web giant said it would suspend service by 11:59 PM on Sunday (0759 GMT Monday).
Talk-radio owner orders conservative hosts to temper election fraud rhetoric After months of stoking anger about alleged election fraud, one of America’s largest talk-radio companies has decided on an abrupt change of direction. Cumulus Media, which employs some of the most popular right-leaning talk-radio hosts in the United States, has told its on-air personalities to stop suggesting that the election was stolen from President Donald Trump – or else face termination. A Cumulus executive issued the directive on Wednesday, just as Congress met to certify Joe Biden’s election victory and an angry mob of Trump supporters marched on the Capitol, overwhelmed police and briefly occupied the building, terrorizing lawmakers and leading to the deaths of five people. “We need to help induce national calm NOW,” Brian Philips, executive vice president of content for Cumulus, wrote in an internal memo, which was first reported by Inside Music Media. Cumulus and its program syndication arm, Westwood One, “will not tolerate any suggestion that the election has not ended. The election has been resolved and there are no alternate acceptable ‘paths.’ ”
Analysis: TV providers should not escape scrutiny for distributing disinformation “Fox and Newsmax, both delivered to my home by your company, are complicit,” NJ state Assemblyman Paul Moriarty texted a Comcast executive on Thursday. “What are you going to do???” “You feed this garbage, lies and all,” Moriarty added to the executive, according to a screen grab of the texts he provided me. Moriarty was referring to the fact that Comcast’s cable brand, Xfinity, provides a platform to right-wing cable networks that have for weeks been disseminating disinformation about the November election results to audiences of millions. Moriarty has a point. We regularly discuss what the Big Tech companies have done to poison the public conversation by providing large platforms to bad-faith actors who lie, mislead, and promote conspiracy theories. But what about TV companies that provide platforms to networks such as Newsmax, One America News — and, yes, Fox News?
No Evidence COVID-19 Vaccines Will Block Spread of Coronavirus On Nov. 9, 2020, Pfizer, Inc. announced that the experimental messenger RNA (mRNA) BNT162b2 vaccine for COVID-19 it developed in partnership with Germany’s BioNTech SE was 90 percent effective, based on the results of human clinical trials on the vaccine. This news was followed up a week later with an announcement by Moderna, Inc. on Nov. 16 that its experimental mRNA mRNA-1273 for COVID-19 showed an effectiveness rate of 94.5 percent. Seemingly not to be outdone by Moderna and perhaps in anticipation of an impending emergency use authorization (EUA)—not “approval”—by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the first COVID-19 vaccine to be distributed to the U.S. public and used, Pfizer revised upward the effectiveness of its BNT162b2 vaccine to 95 percent on Nov. 18. The FDA granted an EUA for the BNT162b2 vaccine on Dec. 11. It followed with an EUA for the mRNA-1273 vaccine on Dec. 18. During the past two months, other pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies have revealed effectiveness figures for COVID-19 vaccines they have developed. On Nov. 23, the United Kingdom’s AstraZeneca plc announced that its experimental AZD1222 COVID-19 vaccine, developed in partnership with Oxford University, had attained an effectiveness of 70 percent during clinical trials.

Question of The Day!
Hey Robert & Super Don
My daughter was diagnosed with endometriosis approximately 3 years ago, however we’ve know she’s had an issue for many years, but doctors just couldn’t put a finger on it. She tried the traditional medical route and got absolutely no help. She recently started chiropractic care which has been really helpful thus far. I wanted to hear your take on endometriosis and any supplement suggestions etc that would be helpful for her. Thanks in advance ❤️ I love the show and watch nearly every day ❤️
FDA Chief: Agency Kept Independence With Science as Its ‘North Star’ Some Trump administration appointees have resigned in protest of the riot at the US Capitol building, but US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Steve Hahn, MD, says he will stay on the job through the swearing-in of President-elect Joe Biden on January 20 to ensure that the agency operates smoothly in the face of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. During a call with reporters on January 8, Hahn enumerated what he saw as the agency’s many achievements over the past year. He said he was most proud of how the FDA had stood firm in the face of what he called “a number of externalities” thrown in the agency’s direction. “We have ensured that our north star has been and remains that our decisions are firmly guided by science,” Hahn said in a briefing sponsored by a Washington, DC–based education organization, the Alliance for Health Policy.
Family Farm in Maine Couldn’t Make it After Restaurants Close – Until the Neighbors Showed Up In 1996, organic farmers Ralph and Lisa Turner launched Laughing Stock Farm on one-fifth of an acre in Freeport, Maine. With trial and error eventually came success, a steady customer base, and 12-and-a-half more acres. “Our quality produce coupled with your commitment to purchasing fresh local vegetables has built our business into a sustainable family-owned farm that will be able to serve you for years to come,” their website proudly states. When the pandemic hit last year, as suppliers to Portland area restaurants were forced to close, that future seemed very much in jeopardy. Their main source of income was suddenly gone. Left behind, eight overflowing greenhouses plus 10 tons of veggies in cold storage of supply—and zero demand. Zero sales translated to zero cash flow.
