Wednesday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
Special Guest Michelle Krinsky!
Former Christ Hospital nurse says it’s ‘injustice’ to fire for refusing flu vaccine A former nurse with the Christ Hospital Health Network says she was fired last month for refusing a flu vaccine. Michelle Krinsky said she did not feel comfortable getting the vaccine because its ingredients and effectiveness concerned her. But Christ Hospital mandates the shot, so Krinksy, who worked with babies at the hospital for decades, lost her job. “It’s an injustice what they’re doing to healthcare workers with no sound evidence behind it,” Krinksy said. “And I think you have to speak out, stand your ground and make other nurses feel they can as well.” This story isn’t unique to Christ Hospital; St. Elizabeth Healthcare said on Wednesday they terminated one of their employees for refusing the vaccine. Tonda Francis, vice president of Regional Coordination and Clinical Initiatives at the Health Collaborative, said the rate of employees who are terminated for refusing flu shots is low. The immunization rate for health care employees is about 90 percent, Francis said, and hospitals require vaccines so patients are protected against the flu.
Ohio bill would protect employees who decline to get flu shots Should your boss be able to force you to get a flu shot? What about a hospital mandating all of its nurses and doctors receive the vaccine? One Ohio lawmaker thinks both are bad ideas. State Representative Christina Hagan (R-Alliance) is supporting House Bill 193 which would prevent an employer from taking action against an employee who has not been vaccinated against influenza. “This is big government pressing down on individual rights. this bill is no way anti-vaccine this is about personal choice and not stripping patients of their HIPAA rights, ” she says. Thirteen other states have passed legislation that prevents employers from mandating that their employees get a flu shot. Businesses say it’s a way to protect their bottom line, and avoid not having their workforce decimated by the flu that would hurt productivity. The Ohio Hospital Association is fighting the bill saying: “Ohio’s hospitals and physicians are concerned that this legislation threatens the health and safety of patients, employees and the community. It is important to understand that influenza is a serious health risk and that nationally, approximately 266,000 people are hospitalized and 36,000 people die annually as a result of the disease. The flu vaccine is the most effective method to prevent influenza, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends all U.S. health care workers get vaccinated annually against influenza.” The issue hit home for Cincinnati Nurse Michelle Krinsky. Last year, she says she did not feel comfortable getting the flu vaccine because its ingredients and effectiveness concerned her. Her refusal, she says cost her her job.
Special Guest – Paul Barattiero!
Why Is Hydrogen Water So Important?
In each of our bodies, we have cell damaging activity happening on a daily basis. This is something that neither you nor I can stop from occurring in the body. But it is something we can battle with hydrogen.
A by-product of the ATP production process or fuel generation process in the cell is the creation of oxidative stress. This is a part of life and can’t be helped. When this process goes unchecked, then the body is unable to balance the damage being done on a cellular basis.
It’s kind of like if the police decided to go on vacation and never come back, chaos and crime would terrorize the city…. Sadly this happens too often in our bodies where the oxidative stress is left unchecked and able to run rampant in our bodies.
Due to our physiological design, our bodies should be able to fight this naturally. However, We have disrupted and damaged this process to the point of no return in many individuals. With the pollutants in our environments, misunderstood dieting, poor water quality, and excess stress in our lives, cancer and disease is increasingly on the rise.
It’s an epidemic.
The Solution: Hydrogen Water
Luckily, we have taken the time, spent the money, and found the solution. The body fights oxidative
stress with hydrogen. After studying the body and how it tries to fight oxidative stress with hydrogen, we found that it did so through a special and unique relationship with bacteria in the gut and body. This special microflora or bacteria creates hydrogen as a byproduct of fermentation and food breakdown inside the gut. Instead of reinventing the wheel and trying to find a new version of this, we came up with a way to create hydrogen and dissolve it into water for easier access to the body.
We call it, Echo® H2 Water.
As you drink our water, you are flooding the body with millions upon millions of molecules of hydrogen each day. You are providing the body with the tools necessary to combat oxidative stress and get the body back into balance. This is the ultimate solution in hydration and oxidative stress combat.
Hour 2 – Outside The Box With Ty Bollinger!
It’s time to go Outside The Box again with Ty Bollinger! What will we be talking about today?
Did Fracking Cause the Hawaii Volcano Eruption? On the Big Island of Hawaii, where the Kilauea volcano has explosively erupted, there is a geothermal energy plant. It is the Puna Geothermal Venture (PGV) Plant, in Puna. There is a long-running debate about whether PGV is fracking. The debate may be a matter of terminology, because in the geothermal process, as hawaiifracking.com reports, “…the drilling and the injection of cold water into hot rocks used in geothermal energy plants does fracture the rocks, which can induce earthquakes and through contamination of the atmosphere and water tables can affect our health and safety.” Whether deep injection of fluid aims to capture oil, gas, or heat (geothermal), the beginning stage of the process is the same. Earthquakes induced by this water-injection could obviously trigger a volcano.
New DARPA Pentagon Program Plans to Patrol Cities with AI Drones On May 10, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) unveiled the Urban Reconnaissance through Supervised Autonomy (URSA) program, which addresses the issues of reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition within urban environments. The primary objective of the URSA program is to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of blending unmanned aerial systems, sensor technologies, and advanced machine learning algorithms to “enable improved techniques for rapidly discriminating hostile intent and filtering out threats in complex urban environments,” said FedBizOpps. In other words, the Pentagon is developing a program of high-tech cameras mounted on drones and other robots that monitor cities, which enable identification and discrimination between civilians and terrorists through machine learning computers.
Doctors Can Increase Vaccination Rates In Kids Using New Approach, Study Finds The HPV vaccine (human papilloma virus vaccine, Gardisil) has been available for nearly 12 years but actually getting children and teens to complete vaccination with it has been quite a challenge with dismally low vaccination rates. The CDC endorses that all children should be vaccinated with the HPV vaccine when they reach the age of 11 or 12 , but less than 50% of teens have completed the series. At least part of the reason is because parents are hesitant to vaccinate their children against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). But it’s possible to change parental thinking if medical providers continue to challenge parents’ thoughts and beliefs about the vaccine with targeted questions. A new study in the journal Pediatrics addresses this very point and demonstrates that it is possible to change parents’ minds regarding the importance of this vaccine.
Whole Foods Quietly Halts GMO Labeling Requirements A year after Whole Foods was acquired by Internet retail giant Amazon, the food company is backing off its commitment to ensuring that food suppliers inform the consumer and the store itself if their food products contain GMOs. There is some confusion about the decision by Whole Foods to walk back on its commitment but one thing is for sure – it is walking back. In an email sent by Whole Foods President and Chief Operations Officer A.C. Gallo announced that the company is pausing its GMO Food labeling requirements. The requirements, which were scheduled to take effect on September 1, would have required that suppliers disclose on their packaging whether or not their products contained genetically modified ingredients. The requirements, which were announced five years ago, were three months away from being implemented.
A primer on how to use essential oils to alleviate stress and anxiety Stress is a part of everyone’s life that is simply unavoidable. Many things can cause stress, most notably work and school. It can manifest in all sorts of ways, such as sleep problems, digestive distress, and reproductive issues. Anxiety is a debilitating form of stress. It causes repeated and prolonged worrying over a lot of things that can lead to panic attacks, which affect a person’s ability to socialize and form relationships. People with anxiety tend to withdraw from society, affecting their overall quality of life.
