Students demand action on gun violence with nationwide walkout They solemnly spilled onto the high school football field, holding signs protesting gun violence and wearing shirts that read “March for our lives.” They waved at a crowd of onlookers who had gathered to show support. Exactly one month after 17 people were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, survivors of the massacre joined tens of thousands of students across the U.S. by walking out of school on Wednesday morning. The mass protests were held at 10 a.m. local time in each time zone and lasted 17 minutes, one for each of the Parkland victims. Organizers said the purpose was to highlight “Congress’ inaction against the gun violence plaguing our schools and neighborhoods.”
#NationalWalkoutDay I am encouraging all public school students to walk out and never come back. Go to a farm and start learning how to grow food, hunt and fish. – Robert Scott Bell
Now Here’s Some Logic For You…
Mandating Ineffective Vaccines Creates Public Health Crisis as Ineffective Vaccines Can Actually Enhance Disease In the current debate over whether or not to legislate the removal of individual vaccine exemptions, the quality of the vaccines themselves gets little attention. According to the CDC, mumps outbreaks are on the rise despite the fact that 94.6% of children in the U.S. have had two doses of MMR vaccine. To combat the situation, the CDC is considering adding a third dose of MMR to the recommended vaccine schedule. In 2010, California experienced the largest pertussis epidemic since 1958. According to the CDC, the U.S. has experienced increased pertussis disease despite high levels of vaccine coverage. Researchers studying the pertussis outbreaks determined vaccine effectiveness dropped to less than 9% by four years, and that the quality of immunization waned so rapidly that little protection remained 2-3 years after vaccination.

One in four Americans suffer when exposed to common chemicals University of Melbourne research reveals that one in four Americans report chemical sensitivity, with nearly half this group medically diagnosed with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS), suffering health problems from exposure to common chemical products and pollutants such as insect spray, paint, cleaning supplies, fragrances and petrochemical fumes. The research was conducted by Anne Steinemann, Professor of Civil Engineering and Chair of Sustainable Cities from the University of Melbourne School of Engineering, and published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Professor Steinemann is an international expert on environmental pollutants, air quality, and healtheffects.

Corporate retaliation: Monsanto is trying to take down civic group that warned about health risks of glyphosate herbicide A group that dedicates itself to conjoining people with the pressing policy issues that affect them is being targeted by the world’s most evil corporation for daring to spread the truth about the toxicity of glyphosate, a highly pervasive crop chemical that’s commonly sprayed on genetically-modified (GM) crops. According to reports, Monsanto has served the civic campaigning group Avaaz with a 168-page subpoena that demands all of its internal correspondences concerning glyphosate – more than a decade’s worth – be turned over to the New York Supreme Court.
New Study Links Glyphosate to Shortened Pregnancy Lengths in American Women This unique study was performed by scientists from the Indiana University Fairbanks School of Public Health, the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and the Indiana University School of Medicine. The study conclusion states: “This is the first study of GLY [glyphosate] exposure in US pregnant women using urine specimens as a direct measure of exposure. We found that >90% of pregnant women had detectable GLY [glyphosate] levels and that these levels correlated significantly with shortened pregnancy lengths.” In 2016 glyphosate was reported to be found in the urine of 93% of the American public during a unique testing project – The Detox Project – that started in 2015. The expert UCSF laboratory involved in testing for the Detox Project was also the lead laboratory for this latest study.

Husband donates kidney to wife of 23 years: ‘I felt like I won the lottery’ A husband celebrating his 23rd wedding anniversary gave his wife a life-saving gift: a kidney. With it, Cesar Calle gave his wife Monica a life free of painful dialysis treatment, which she needed for polycystic kidney disease she had been fighting for a decade, the Sun Sentinel reported. The couple spoke about the five-hour surgery during a press conference from Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Fla., where the surgery was performed on Feb. 19. “I feel like a million dollars,” Monica said, three weeks after the transplant. “And I think I look like a million bucks, compared to before.”

It’s time to go Outside The Box again with Ty Bollinger! What will we be talking about today?
Kids with easy access to firearms are more likely to be depressed Easy access to a gun at home is bad for a child’s mental health, particularly for girls —bad enough, according to a new examination of a study of American schoolchildren from the 1990s, to suggest parents think carefully before making the decision to bring a gun into the home, especially one that may be accessible by the children in the household. University of Wisconsin–Madison sociology graduate student Jinho Kim found that teenagers who participated in a national study were more likely—about 3 percentage points more likely—to experience severe depressive symptoms if they said they had easy access to a firearm in their home. The effects were even greater for girls.
