Escape From New York
Infants, preschoolers must get flu shot in NYC, judge says New York City’s requirement that infants and preschoolers in city-regulated child care or school-based programs must get yearly flu shots was upheld Thursday by the state’s highest court. The Court of Appeals said that the city’s Department of Health had the authority to require the shots, a rule the city first enacted in 2013 during Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s administration. A group of mothers filed a lawsuit in 2015, saying officials had overstepped their authority in requiring the annual vaccinations for children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years. In its unanimous ruling, the court said the “promulgation of the flu vaccine falls squarely within the powers specifically delegated to the department.” Health Commissioner Dr. Mary Bassett says the ruling is a “great win for New York City children.” “Children who receive the influenza vaccine are less likely to get sick, less likely to need medical attention and less likely to die from influenza,” she said. “This decision will help us protect more than 150,000 children in City-regulated day cares and preschools across the city.”
Special Guest Juliette Igier
Juliette Igier is an independent journalist, filmmaker and producer living in Argentina after working for many years for French public TV group ‘France Television’ and the international French public TV channel France 24.
Juliette is Director/Writer of the new film “Genetically Modified Children” Can Monsanto chemicals permanently alter your child’s genes? Low-income tobacco farmers face skyrocketing cancer rates with more devastating repercussions affecting their children: severe physical deformities and mental disabilities. Choosing between poverty or poison, Latin American growers have no choice but to use harmful chemicals such as the herbicide glyphosate (aka Monsanto’s Roundup) and Bayer’s insecticide Confidor if they want to certify and sell their crops to Big Tobacco. As patent and regulatory laws continue to favor the profits of Monsanto and chemical companies, the tobacco makes its way into the hands and mouths of consumers worldwide in Philip Morris products, while the poisons used to harvest the crops contaminate the farmers’ blood and are modifying the human genome, creating genetically modified children.

Wash Your Hands!
Here’s the real reason so many Americans get food poisoning Government scientists trying out a new kitchen safety training video got an unpleasant surprise when they watched how people behave during food preparation. Not only did their volunteers fail to use meat thermometers properly — or even at all in many cases — but they failed to wash their hands and spread germs all over the kitchen. They videotaped their volunteers and counted thousands of instances in which people spread germs from raw meat to salad, refrigerator handles and even spice containers. The findings help explain why 48 million Americans catch foodborne illnesses every year, said Carmen Rottenberg, top food safety official at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. “There were many, many times in the course of the study that people had the opportunity to wash their hands — nearly 1,200 opportunities,” Rottenberg told NBC News. Yet people failed almost all of the time, close to 98 percent of the time, the team found
Hour 2 – Special Guests Celia Farber and Brandon Straka
Viral ‘Walk Away’ Videos Highlight Growing Movement of Democrats Leaving the Party When actor James Woods tweeted out the hashtag “#WalkAway” in late June, even the alt-right missed the enormity of what lay beneath it. The Democratic Party had, in fact, struck an iceberg. Some 5 million people on Facebook and YouTube have seen the video by now. A very handsome gay man, who you just assume is about to scold you on progressive talking points, instead says this: “Once upon a time, I was a liberal. Well, to be honest, less than a year ago, I was still a liberal. “I reject a system which allows an ambitious, misinformed and dogmatic mob to suppress free speech, create false narratives, and apathetically steamroll over the truth.” And then this devastating line—the Rosa Parks moment of the video: “I reject hate.” If Democratic strategists were still able to watch the rest of the video without suffering a nervous breakdown, they’d see that it quickly got worse. “These are the reasons why I became a liberal. And these are the same reasons why I am now walking away.” Meet Brandon Straka, the unlikely liberator and new face of the “silent minority” of Americans who’ve been cast out by family and friends, fired from jobs, and forced into silent social ghettos for their failure to “get it” about how hateful and dangerous Donald Trump is, and why he and all his supporters should be subjected to an ever-expanding social and professional fatwah. Since Straka published his confessional video on May 26, his life as a New York City hairdresser and aspiring actor has been overtaken by a tidal wave.
Today I’m kicking off the #WalkAway campaign by releasing my video about why I am walking away from liberalism and the Democratic Party. It is my sincere hope that you will join me in this campaign and that we may start a movement in this country- which not only encourages others to walk away from the divisive left, but also takes back the narrative from the liberal media about what it means to be a conservative in America. It is up to all of us to make our voices heard and reclaim the truth. The Democratic Party has taken for granted that it owns racial, sexual, and religious minorities in America. It has encouraged groupthink, hypocrisy, division, stereotyping, resentment, and the acceptance of victimhood mentality. And all the while, they have discouraged minorities from having independent thought, open dialogue, measured and informed opinion, and a motivation to succeed. Please like and share my video, and please post your own #WalkAway video!! If you are a former liberal who has walked away from the left, please share your story, or your message, or your thoughts in a video on the Walk Away Campaign Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/WalkAwayCampaign/ Be sure to use the hashtag #WalkAway. If you are a lifelong conservative or non-Democrat, please share your story, message, or thoughts on what it truly means to be a conservative. Right now, the liberal media continues to perpetuate a false narrative about the “hateful” and “bigoted” right. Use your voice to let people know who conservatives really are. Be sure to use the hashtag #WalkAway. So… Chuck Schumer Did Something Ok…
Schumer Introduces Bill to Deschedule Cannabis to U.S. Senate Following his announcement in April that he intended to file a marijuana deschedulalization bill, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer this week filed the Marijuana Freedom and Opportunity Act, which would remove marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act — where it is currently listed as a Schedule I drug, alongside heroin and LSD. Schumer’s bill now competes with the STATES Act put forward by Senators Cory Gardner of Illinois and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, which would allow states to regulate cannabis as they see fit. Schumer’s bill also competes with Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey’s Marijuana Justice Act, which not only would deschedule cannabis but also creates funding for communities impacted by the War on Drugs and wipes cannabis crimes from federal records. Trump specifically backed the Gardner effort after the senator lifted his blockade of Department of Justice nominees. Gardner started that blockade early in the year in response to the move by Attorney General Jeff Sessions to rescind the Cole Memo, which previously had directed federal prosecutors not to target marijuana producers who were in compliance with state law.
