Pandemic Leaders Were Biodefense Puppets and Profiteers Scandalous incompetence. Profound stupidity. Astounding errors. This is how many analysts – including Dr. Vinay Prasad, Dr. Scott Atlas, and popular Substack commentator eugyppius – explain how leading public health experts could prescribe so many terrible pandemic response policies. And it’s true: the so-called experts certainly have made themselves look foolish over the last three years: Public health leaders like Rochelle Walensky and Anthony Fauci make false claims, or contradict themselves repeatedly, on subjects related to the pandemic response, while leading scientists, like Peter Hotez in the US and Christian Drosten in Germany, are equally susceptible to such flip-flops and lies. Then there are the internationally renowned medical researchers, like Eric Topol, who repeatedly commit obvious errors in interpreting Covid-related research studies. [ref] All of these figures publicly and aggressively promoted anti-public health policies, including universal masking, social distancing, mass testing and quarantining of healthy people, lockdowns and vaccine mandates. It seems like an open-and-shut case: Dumb policies, dumb people in charge of those policies. This might be true in a few individual cases of public health or medical leaders who really are incapable of understanding even high school level science. However, if we look at leading pandemic public health and medical experts as a group – a group consisting of the most powerful, widely published, and well-paid researchers and scientists in the world – that simple explanation sounds much less convincing.

Michael Hichborn, founder and president of the Lepanto Institute, is a well known public figure in the pro-life movement.  Michael spent seven and a half years as  American Life League’s Director of the Defend the Faith project.  In this capacity, Michael has researched and produced an annual report on organizations receiving grant money from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.  This annual report, exposing dozens of grantees that are promoting abortion, birth control, homosexuality and Marxism, has led to a nation-wide review of the CCHD and a tightening of its guidelines.  Michael has also conducted research on Catholic hospital systems that are involved in the performance of abortions and sterilizations; he wrote a detailed report on abortion and contraception-providing organizations receiving money from Catholic Relief Services; and produced a detailed report on Obamacare and its danger to women, preborn babies and the elderly.

In addition to his work as Director of Defend the Faith, Michael hosted the online video series, The American Life League Report.  This popular video series features expose’s and explanations of the Culture of Death and its work in our country and in our Church.  The videos can be seen at the American Life League Report channel on YouTube. Prior to working at American Life League, Michael helped open two Catholic schools in Fredericksburg, VA. Given the findings contained in this report, the Lepanto Institute is calling upon the bishops of the United States to revoke the Catholic identity of CommonSpirit Health and all of the “Catholic” hospitals identified in this report.  Furthermore, the Lepanto Institute is calling upon bishops to require their Catholic hospitals to disaffiliate from CommonSpirit Health or lose their Catholic identities, and to lead the faithful in public acts of penance and reparation for the horrifying evil CommonSpirit is committing in the name of the Catholic Church. The largest Catholic health system in the United States, CommonSpirit Health, is acting directly against Catholic moral teaching in direct defiance of its Catholic identity.  This report will prove that CommonSpirit Health is performing transgender surgeries, providing hormone-based transgender therapies, providing puberty blockers to children under the auspices of so-called “gender-affirming care,” is financially subsidizing the same through its employee benefits packages, is financially subsidizing medical institutions performing these procedures and therapies, is providing all forms of modern contraception (including abortifacients) to patients, and is even performing elective abortions and surgical sterilizations.

Hundreds of military personnel part of lawsuit over mandatory COVID vaccine policy More than 300 Canadian Armed Forces members are listed as plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed against Canada’s defence minister and top brass over the military’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policies. Filed in federal court last week, the court action demands $1 million in damages for each of the 329 plaintiffs, plus declarations that mandating COVID shots for CAF members violated the rights of Canadian military members, plus punitive recompense. Catherine Christensen of Edmonton’s Valour Legal Action Centre told the National Post the suit has less to do with COVID-19 and more about addressing concerns within Canada’s top military leadership, and acts she described as both malicious and unlawful. “The brief snippets of (plaintiffs’) stories are hard to read, but with the approximately 150,000 pages of evidence we have the stories get worse and the abuse of power in the chain of command is very apparent,” she said. “This is not about COVID-19, this is about a corrupt chain of command that thinks they are untouchable and above the law.” The statement of claim specifically names as defendants Minister of Defence Anita Anand, Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Wayne Eyre, Vice Defence Staff Chief Lt.-Gen. Frances Allen, Surgeon General Maj.-Gen. J.G.M. Bilodeau, Judge Advocate General Rear Adm. Geneviève Bernatchez, and others. In response to inquiries by the National Post, a Department of National Defence spokesperson said DND doesn’t comment on potential legal action. While COVID-19 vaccination isn’t mandatory for joining the Canadian Forces, the spokesperson said members are “strongly encouraged” to do so.

Some Dutch people seeking euthanasia cite autism or intellectual disabilities, researchers say Several people with autism and intellectual disabilities have been legally euthanized in the Netherlands in recent years because they said they could not lead normal lives, researchers have found. The cases included five people younger than 30 who cited autism as either the only reason or a major contributing factor for euthanasia, setting an uneasy precedent that some experts say stretches the limits of what the law originally intended. In 2002, the Netherlands became the first country to allow doctors to kill patients at their request if they met strict requirements, including having an incurable illness causing “unbearable” physical or mental suffering. Between 2012 and 2021, nearly 60,000 people were killed at their own request, according to the Dutch government’s euthanasia review committee. To show how the rules are being applied and interpreted, the committee has released documents related to more than 900 of those people, most of whom were older and had conditions including cancer, Parkinson’s and ALS. Irene Tuffrey-Wijne, a palliative care specialist at Britain’s Kingston University, and her colleagues reviewed the documents to see how Dutch doctors were dealing with euthanasia requests from people with autism or with lifelong mental impairments. They published their findings in the journal BJPsych Open in May.

Heavy Metals Still Problem for Baby Food Brands Five Years Later Heavy metals in baby foods discovered through a study conducted five years ago still exist in some of the same brands retested in 2023, Consumer Reports found in a study published Tuesday. The nonprofit consumer organization’s previous test in 2018 found 33 of 50 baby food products had combined exposure from three heavy metals—arsenic, cadmium, and lead. Some of those metals are still found in certain products and brands years later. The report found that major baby food brands such as Earth’s Best Organic, Gerber, and Hot Kid continue to see different levels of certain heavy metals in their products, with some brands seeing a rise or drop in levels over the years. Overall risks remain high for children, despite pressure on manufacturers to create healthier baby foods, the report said. Consumption of heavy metals can lower children’s IQs and cause developmental problems. Foods that pose the biggest risk are made with rice, sweet potatoes, and carrots, mainly due to the way they’re grown. “One would expect that the manufacturers would have been able to make these products safer, cleaner, etc.,” James E. Rogers, director of food safety research and testing at Consumer Reports, said in an interview. “As the report states, for three of the products, we had to recommend even less consumption than we did last time. So it’s our stance that the level of these dangerous heavy metals remains unacceptably high.”

Religious Exemption Form for Parents of School-Age Kids in D.C. ‘Intentionally Misleading and Unlawful’ A form provided by the District of Columbia Department of Health for parents seeking a religious exemption for mandated vaccines on behalf of their minor children is “intentionally misleading and unlawful,” according to Children’s Health Defense (CHD) Senior Staff Attorney Rolf Hazlehurst. A letter from Hazlehurst and CHD Acting President Laura Bono to D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and school and health department officials states there is “no legal basis or requirement” for parents to use the newly revised “2023 Religious Exemption Request Process for Families” posted on the DC Health website. According to the health department, “In consideration of the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for eligible students, and the need to ensure all students in the District remain up to date with all necessary or required vaccinations to attend school,” health officials revised the religious exemption form “to include a section to document a strongly held religious belief opposing vaccination.” Parents and guardians are instructed to request the form and return it directly to DC Health/Immunization Division after carefully reading and completing it in its entirety. “incomplete or non-compliant forms will be returned before being sent for review, the department said. But the updated form contains at least two subsections that are “unlawful as written and applied,” Hazlehurst said. In the first part of Section 2, parents and guardians are required to initial to acknowledge that “by not vaccinating their child for one or more of the listed vaccinations, they are placing their child at ‘increased risk,’ thus implying that they are unfit parents or guardians.”
