Hour 1 – Special Guest Rob MacCuspie, PhD!
Dr. MacCuspie is the Chief Science Office for Natural Immunogenics. He joined the company in 2015 and was responsible for creating their new state of the art laboratory. Dr. MacCuspie is uniquely qualified. He worked at the National Institute of Standards and Technology prior to joining Natural Immunogenics. There he researched nanotechnology and silver particle safety and applications. MacCuspie has published 33 publications, with focuses on nanomaterial environmental, health and safety and silver nanoparticles during his tenure at NIST. Dr. MacCuspie earned a B.S. in Chemistry and a B.S. in Molecular Biology and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida, and a Ph.D. in Nanotechnology and Materials Chemistry from The Graduate Center at the City University of New York, and was a National Research Council postdoctoral fellow at the Air Force Research Laboratory in Dayton, Ohio at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
Researchers cure drug-resistant infections without antibiotics Biochemists, microbiologists, drug discovery experts and infectious disease doctors have teamed up in a new study that shows antibiotics are not always necessary to cure sepsis in mice. Instead of killing causative bacteria with antibiotics, researchers treated infected mice with molecules that block toxin formation in bacteria. Every treated mouse survived. The breakthrough study, published in Scientific Reports, suggests infections in humans might be cured the same way. The molecules cling to a toxin-making protein found across Gram-positive bacterial species, called AgrA, rendering it ineffective. Treating mice with the therapeutic molecules effectively cured infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). S. aureus is notorious for its ability to overcome even the most potent antibiotics. Its resistance arsenal is broad, limiting therapeutic options to treat infections.
‘It Was Agony’: Ozzy Osbourne Explains Staph Infection That Derailed Tour Ozzy Osbourne knew he had a problem when he saw that his right thumb had swollen to “the size of a f***in’ lightbulb.” After a Salt Lake City gig earlier this month, he had trouble putting on a thumb ring he regularly wears. The digit got larger overnight until it was 10 times bigger than usual. “I freaked out,” he says. He showed it to his wife and manager, Sharon, and she took him to the emergency room, where he learned he’d contracted a potentially deadly staph infection. Ozzy subsequently postponed four shows and focused on his treatment. He’s feeling mostly better now, and postponed shows in California and Las Vegas, which are part of his ongoing No More Tours 2 Tour, are now scheduled to take place next July after a run of dates in Oceania and Japan. (Tickets for the original shows will still be honored and refunds are available to those who can’t make the new dates.)
Your Gut May Be to Blame for Your Blood Infection Bloodstream infections contracted during a hospital stay are usually caused by a patient’s own digestive tract, not a doctor’s dirty hands or another patient’s cough, a small new study suggests. Stanford University researchers used new computer software to quickly identify the source of bloodstream infections among 30 patients. The findings showed that the infections mostly started in patients’ own bodies — often in the large intestine. Being able to trace these infections to their source, rather than guessing, is a big step toward addressing the risk factors, said Dr. Ami Bhatt, an assistant professor of hematology and genetics at Stanford. “Until now, we couldn’t pinpoint those sources with high confidence,” Bhatt said in a university news release. “That’s a problem because when a patient has a bloodstream infection, it’s not enough simply to administer broad-spectrum antibiotics. You need to treat the source, or the infection will come back.”
Antibiotics destroy ‘good bacteria’ and worsen oral infection New research shows that the body’s own microbes are effective in maintaining immune cells and killing certain oral infections. A team of Case Western Reserve University researchers found that antibiotics actually kill the “good” bacteria keeping infection and inflammation at bay. Scientists have long known that overuse of antibiotics can do more harm than good. For example, overuse can cause antibiotic resistance. But research into this phenomenon in oral health was uncharted territory. Pushpa Pandiyan, an assistant professor of biological sciences in the School of Dental Medicine, led a team of researchers to examine “resident” bacteria, their fatty acids and their effect on certain types of white blood cells that combat infections in the mouth. Specifically, researchers looked at the “short-term maintenance” of Tregs and Th-17 cells in fighting fungal infections, such as Candida, in a laboratory setting.
Modern Cavemom! My name is Heather AKA Modern Cavemom. Here on the blog I will be sharing what I have learnedthrough my experiences of changing my life and health around on my journey to learning about my Auto Immune diagnosis, going gluten and dairy free, and all the health and well-being that has gone along with this journey. If you like learning about new, good, and tried and tested gluten and dairy free recipes – join me. Or, if you are curious about different products, skin care, cooking accessories, you name it that are safer…I will be writing about all my experiences of what is worth it and what isn’t. And, best of all trying to just remind us all that we are all imperfect, but that is what makes us human. We learn from our ups and downs, and our journey is the fun of this ride. Wishing you light & love – xoxo
Hour 2 – This Ought To End Well….
Japan Plans to Dump a Million Tons of Radioactive Fukushima Water Into Ocean In a move that has sparked outrage from local residents and dire health warnings from environmentalists, the Japanese government is reportedly planning to release 1.09 million tons of water from the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant into the Pacific Ocean despite evidence that it contains “radioactive material well above legally permitted levels.” While both the Japanese government and Tokyo Electric Power Co. (Tepco)—the company that runs the Fukushima Dai-ichi plant—have claimed that radioactive material in the water has been reduced to indetectable amounts and that only “safe levels of tritium” remain, documents obtained by the London-based Telegraph suggest that the cleaning system being used to decontaminate the water “has consistently failed to eliminate a cocktail of other radioactive elements, including iodine, ruthenium, rhodium, antimony, tellurium, cobalt, and strontium.” “The government is running out of space to store contaminated water that has come into contact with fuel that escaped from three nuclear reactors after the plant was destroyed in the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami that struck northeast Japan,” the Telegraph reported. “Its plan to release the approximately 1.09 million tons of water currently stored in 900 tanks into the Pacific has triggered a fierce backlash from local residents and environmental organizations, as well as groups in South Korea and Taiwan fearful that radioactivity from the second-worst nuclear disaster in history might wash up on their shores.”

Your Dog’s Gut Controls His Health: Here’s How …
“No guts, no glory!
The old adage is true when it comes to your dog’s health … your dog can’t be healthy without a healthy gut.”
NATIONAL IMMUNIZATION ALERT: Zoster Shingles vaccines and non-seasonal flu vaccines are NOT COVERED by the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program In the 1980s, after a series of very serious lawsuits against vaccine companies from healthcare providers due to vaccine injuries, the CDC, in cahoots with vaccine manufacturers, created the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) so that no vaccine maker could ever be sued again. From that date forward, if any U.S. person was injured by vaccine toxins, they would have to plead their case in front of a “special master,” and the vaccine that caused the damage or death would have to be one “recommended” as a category by the CDC (for routine administration to children and pregnant women) and subject to an excise tax by federal law (that provides the money used for settlement – if awarded). The National VICP was purposely created as a “no-fault” alternative to the traditional and constitutional U.S. legal system. The Zoster Shingles vaccines are not listed for injury compensation coverage for the obvious and insidious reasons covered in this article.
Question of The Day!
In “The Truth About Cancer”, you mentioned selenium, chromium and silica to treat cancer. Can you recommend a supplement product that contains these three? It seemed to me from the discussion, that one does exist. Or, if I have to get them separately, again, can you recommend a brand(s)? There are so many out there, it’s difficult to know what you are getting.
What other protocols can you recommend for melanoma?
What Goes In – Must Come Out
Your Poop Is Probably Full of Plastic EVERY MINUTE, A dumptruckful of plastic plops into the world’s oceans. That’s eight million metric tons every year1. Once waterborne, whatever doesn’t wash ashore eventually breaks down into itty bits. The puniest pieces—the ones smaller than 5 millimeters wide—are called microplastics, and their fates are numerous. Some glob onto an Alaska-sized gyre of plastic debris swirling in the Pacific Ocean. Others sink to a variety of depths, according to their densities, perfusing the world’s waters. Still others get ingested by marine life, including fish and shellfish, which are in turn ingested by other animals, like birds and humans. All of this is a mess, from an ecological perspective. But it’s that last bit—the microplasticine infiltration of food webs—that worries not just ecologists but gastroenterologists. If microplastics are invading the things we eat, it’s possible that they’re invading our stomachs and intestines, too. But while the matryoshka-nature of food chains certainly suggests that human guts harbor microplastics, nobody’s really bothered to look in a systematic way.
