Tuesday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
Medical marijuana could help solve the opioid epidemic, Dr. Sanjay Gupta tells Jeff Sessions Dear Honorable Jeff Sessions, I feel obligated to share the results of my five-year-long investigation into the medical benefits of the cannabis plant. Before I started this worldwide, in-depth investigation, I was not particularly impressed by the results of medical marijuana research, but a few years later, as I started to dedicate time with patients and scientists in various countries, I came to a different conclusion. Not only can cannabis work for a variety of conditions such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and pain, sometimes, it is the only thing that works. I changed my mind, and I am certain you can, as well. It is time for safe and regulated medical marijuana to be made available nationally. I realize this is an unconventional way to reach you, but your office declined numerous requests for an interview, and as a journalist, a doctor and a citizen, I felt it imperative to make sure you had access to our findings.
Hemp shows potential for treating ovarian cancer Results from some of the first studies to examine hemp’s ability to fight cancer show that it might one day be useful as plant-based treatment for ovarian cancer. Hemp is part of the same cannabis family as marijuana but doesn’t have any psychoactive properties or cause addiction. Sara Biela and Chase Turner, graduate students in the lab of Wasana Sumanasekera at Sullivan University College of Pharmacy in Kentucky, will present new findings tied to hemp‘s anti-cancer properties at the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology annual meeting during the 2018 Experimental Biology meeting to be held April 21-25 in San Diego.

RSB & Super D! Here to make a healthy me! First and foremost, love you guys and exceptionally thankful for what you do. Due to the amazing guidance of life I came across your show in late 2017. I’m a self-admitted soundcloud addict and my job allows for me to wear headphones while working so I’m always listening to new music and catching your shows when they drop on soundcloud (and of course grinding out hard on all of your old shows while waiting for new ones, which, even though your shows take a little while to post on soundcloud it’s completely alright because you guys are putting out WAAYYY more material than any other talk show I follow, so it’s greatly appreciated). I’m 27 years old, caucasian, male, new father of an 8 month old (non-vaxxed of course), vegan (don’t worry boys, non-radical vegan, son of a hunter), working-class, Missouri-living, life-loving, health enthusiast. I grew up in a normal allopathic using S.A.D. eating family. In 2011 I was injured in a dirt-bike wreck that would change my life. I was hospitalized for a week and a half with my torso being the worst effected area. Luckily, no internal organs were damaged and I was up and walking by the time I was released (as you always say, traumatic accidental care is one area hospitals are a blessing). However, when I went back to eating my normal diet certain things were very painful to digest and my body could no longer handle most of the food I grew up eating (blessing in disguise). So, with the amazing help of the internet, I was able to become my own doctor and research (and eat) my way back to health. Also, I have always believed in the unlimited potential of the human being and knew anything was possible if intentions were pure and dedicated perseverance was set in motion. So, with the guidance of creator source excellence, I am alive and well today and only getting younger. Another side-note to add in, when I was in high school pharmaceuticals were everywhere and everybody was using them. Adderall, hydrocodone, xanax, valium, oxy-contin, and many others. At 17 I had a friend die in a car crash due to driving on pills, by 21 I lost my best friend to an overdose, and for the past 5 years my younger brother has been completely taken over with opiate addiction. So, I have seen first hand the evils of pharmaceuticals. I myself developed a love for opiates and battled addiction for many years. Not fully breaking the habit until 2013 with the help of kratom and psilocybin. Kratom helped by mimicking the effects of the opiates (or vice-versa, opiates mimic kratom) and psilocybin helped to boost the confidence of the mind and reinforce the belief of the unlimited power and potential of the plant kingdom, far superior to the “allopathic kingdom”. Who do you trust more, a man in a lab working for profit or a planet in space working for source? Seems obvious to me. So, not only does the planet provide any food that I may need but also any medicine that I may need. Earth doesn’t make drugs, man makes drugs. I’ve been drug free for 5 years now, clean eating for 7 years, and life is only getting better. If you complain you are wasting your brain. I’ll stop there for now, just wanted to let you guys know what kind of listeners you have out here. Sending Vitamin L your way! Wholeness & Balance to you my dear friends.

Power Up! Seniors Can Strengthen Their Brains By Playing Super Mario Looking to power up your brain in old age? A new study finds that the secret to a sharper mind may be… Super Mario? Believe it or not, yes. Previous studies focusing on healthy young adults showed that playing certain video games increases gray matter in the hippocampus, but researchers from the Université de Montréal wanted to see if those results also occurred in seniors. Sure enough, the authors found that older adults who played Super Mario 64 regularly showed improvements in cognitive function. It’s now believed that similar three-dimensional platform games might help seniors fend off mild cognitive impairments, or even Alzheimer’s disease. To reach their findings, the researchers studied the brains of a group of people at least 55 years old after six months of either regular video game playing, piano playing (for the first time in their lives), or neither.
Hour 2 – Take That, Monsanto
California Defeats Monsanto in Court to List Glyphosate as Carcinogen A California Appellate Court sided with the State of California and Center for Food Safety (CFS) on Thursday, affirming that Monsanto’s glyphosate pesticide can be listed as a known carcinogen under Proposition 65. Monsanto’s lawsuit challenged the 2015 announcement by California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) that it intended to list glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto’s herbicide, Roundup, under California’s landmark Proposition 65. Proposition 65 requires notification and labeling of all chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and prohibits their discharge into drinking waters of the state. CFS intervened in the case, defending the listing of glyphosate as a carcinogen and the public’s right to know when it is being exposed to cancer-causing chemicals.
New research shows link between agrochemicals and risk of parasitic disease Farmers worldwide face mounting pressure to increase agricultural yields to keep up with human population growth. Consequently, chemical use is on the rise – in many cases a cocktail of chemicals, from fertilizers to herbicides to insecticides. But in countries where human population growth is highest, including China, South East Asia and South America, these chemicals can set off a chain of events that ultimately puts people at far greater risk of contracting a devastating parasitic disease caused by blood flukes. This disease, called schistosomiasis, is second only to malaria among parasitic diseases with the greatest economic impact, with a quarter of a billion people currently infected and nearly a billion more at risk. Unfortunately, those most at risk are children, and those affected will suffer from stunted growth, anemia and learning difficulties. If untreated, it can result in liver damage, kidney failure, infertility and cancer.

I’ve listened to your shows for years and it’s one of my favorites, but I’ve haven’t listen to it for awhile and let me tell you why and make a suggestion to make it more user friendly for listeners like me.
You have a 2 hour show and it’s broken down into 2 podcast and when looking at your podcast I have no idea what your show will be about today. I subscribe to a lot of podcast and the ones I listen to are the ones where the podcast are broken down into different segments. It’s hard to devote to 2 hours of my time, I would rather pick and choose what segments that will interest me. I would definitely listen more if that was the case. Thanks for your time.
Question of The Day!
Hi RSB and Dr. Buttar,
I am a longtime listener of both of you and definitely a huge fan! I have a question for both of you, that I hope you all can help your listeners with. We as humans are constantly getting bad things into our bodies and one of them is heavy metals. Trying to make ourselves as healthy as possible and keeping our immune system strong, we have to detox these heavy metals from our bodies. There has been talk over the years, that zeolite was a product used to remove heavy metals, and then through research, I found out Zeolites contain metals, and are not actually helping us. Then recently, there is another product out on the market called TRS, that they say is a different type of Zeolite, that removes heavy metals. I am getting mixed messages about the truth, of how well this TRS actually works. I hope you all can shed some light on this for myself, as well as the other listeners looking to detox heavy metals. And if TRS is not a good product, then what do you all recommend as the best ways to detox our bodies from heavy metals????
Thanks for all you both do!!!!

Take Care of That Liver!
Probiotics May Protect Liver From Damage The liver is our largest internal organ and performs more than 500 functions to keep us alive and well, but that doesn’t seem to stop us from subjecting it to regular abuse. Beer, late night pizza, and that morning-after Tylenol all wreak havoc on this vital organ. But new research offers up a possible weapon against damage: probiotics. You’ve probably heard about the link between probiotics and digestive health, but researchers from Emory University were inspired by studies indicating that a good gut can improve your heart and brain health, too. Curious as to whether probiotics could help another of our most important organs, they decided to test whether a common probiotic, Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, or LGG, could protect the liver against damage.
