Monday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
Democrats Introduce Bill Allowing Shooting Victims To Sue Gun Industry House and Senate Democrats introduced legislation Tuesday they say will allow victims of gun violence to have their day in court. The Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act aims to repeal federal protections blocking firearm and ammunition manufacturers, dealers and trade groups from most civil lawsuits when a firearm is used unlawfully or in a crime. Those protections date to 2005, with the passage of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., one of the bill’s co-sponsors, said since PLCAA became law, state and federal courts have “dismissed numerous cases against the gun industry,” adding that other cases were likely not brought at all. Schiff, surrounded by members of gun violence prevention groups including Moms Demand Action, Brady and March For Our Lives, said the purpose of the legislation was to “correct the error Congress made” nearly a decade and a half ago.
Cannabidiol Is A Powerful New Antibiotic New research has found that Cannnabidiol is active against Gram-positive bacteria, including those responsible for many serious infections (such as Staphyloccocus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae), with potency similar to that of established antibiotics such as vancomycin or daptomycin. The research is presented at ASM Microbe, the annual meeting of the American Society for Microbiology. Cannabidiol, the main non-psychoactive chemical compound extracted from cannabis and hemp plants, has been approved by FDA for the treatment of a form of epilepsy, and is being investigated for a number of other medical conditions, including, anxiety, pain and inflammation. While there is limited data to suggest Cannabidiol can kill bacteria, the drug has not been thoroughly investigated for its potential as an antibiotic.
Questions of The Day!
Knowing that I am a research geek, a friend asked me to track down non-drug information concerning migraine headaches. I don’t know the circumstances of when they hit; but he is a lawyer, so stress will play a part, I’m sure. I just bought four books on homeopathy, so would be grateful if you could send me in the right direction. Hey, Robert, I love it when you talk Latin to me!
Greetings Dr Bell and family, my question is about silica versus copper. I’ve heard one popular dr in particular say that when there is an issue such as hemorrhoids or aneurysms – its the integrity of the vessel that is weak which indicates a copper deficiency. So what is your opinion? If I take silica everyday but don’t supplement with copper (and I’m not sure how I would supplement with copper) will I still be at risk for blood vessel weakness? Thank you as always and much love to all of you helping to bring this information to the forefront!
Commonly prescribed drugs could increase the risk of dementia, says a new study The study, carried out by experts from the University of Nottingham and funded by the NIHR School for Primary Care Research, found that there was nearly a 50% increased risk of dementia among patients aged 55 and over who had used strong anticholinergic medication daily for three years or more. Anticholinergic drugs help to contract and relax muscles. They work by blocking acetylcholine, a chemical that transmits messages in the nervous system. Doctors prescribe the drugs to treat a variety of conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bladder conditions, allergies, gastrointestinal disorders and symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. These medicines can have short-term side effects, including confusion and memory loss, but it is less certain whether long-term use increases the risk of dementia.
Nolte: HuffPo to Delete Jim Carrey, Jenny McCarthy, and Other Anti-Vaccine Posts The far-left Huffington Post has agreed to delete dozens of anti-vaccine posts, including those written by Jim Carrey, Jenny McCarthy, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., reports Insider.com. For about five years, between 2006 and 2011, HuffPo was a hotbed bed of anti-vaccine conspiracy theorizing. I remember this well because back in those days, when I ran this site’s Big Hollywood vertical, our contributors regularly responded to this madness.
