Monday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
Statin Madness In The UK!
Tens of thousands of British children ‘must go on statins’ Tens of thousands of children should be put on statins to control inherited high cholesterol levels, according to the health watchdog. It wants youngsters to start taking the pills from the age of ten and continue them for the rest of their lives. NICE, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, is urging GPs to trawl their lists to identify children and adults suspected of having the condition based on their family history.
Opioid Epidemic Solution? Hit Them In The Pocketbook!
Investors Are Pressuring Big Pharma To Stop Opiate Crisis After years of acting with impunity, drug companies are starting to feel pressure from their financial enablers to do something about the opioid crisis. This pressure might lead to changes because it is coming not from patients, not doctors, not families of overdose victims, and not Congress or the Justice Department — but from the drug companies’ investors, as in the major institutional investors whose shares can make or break an industry. There is some serious money to be made marketing prescription pain pills — so much money that it’s worthwhile buying a congressman and flooding, for example, West Virginia with 780 million doses of prescription opiates. But contributing to an ongoing public health disaster also carries some risk.
Comment of The Day!
As I listened to the show, this evening, it made me frustrated that though I’d love to find a dr. that views things the way I do, there is only one Functional/Integrative medicine doctor in our city, and he isn’t taking new patience. Here in New York State, naturopathic doctors aren’t covered by insurance. Anyway, overtime I go to the doctors they ‘push’ cholesterol lowing meds that I’ve been refusing for several years. No matter how healthy I eat, Paleo, Keto… it just gets getting higher. There just aren’t that many options here in Syracuse. Though I’m trying to find a doctor that thinks about things closer to how I think about things, it’s a very difficult thing.
Medical Weed Research Wins By Landslide In Veteran Survey Medical marijuana has a powerful ally after the American Legion, the largest veteran organization in the United States, released the results of a study on Thursday outlining veteran support for medical marijuana research. “In political terms, it’s a landslide,” said Joe Plenzler, the American Legion’s Communications Director. Ninety-two percent of veterans, and caregivers of veterans, support research into medical cannabis and 82 percent think medical cannabis should be legalized outright. Support for medical cannabis extends beyond age groups and political affiliation. Often seen as a safer alternative to opioids for pain, and to Benzodiazepine for anxiety, medical marijuana is getting immense support from the veteran community.
Don’t miss Jeffrey Smith and others on The Doctors TV Show this Wednesday. The subject is Monsanto’s Roundup: Could the foods you eat or the weed killer you use give you cancer? Click here to find out when it’s on in your area.
On Wednesday, November 8th, the national TV show The Doctors will spend an entire hour-long episode discussing the controversy around Monsanto and its herbicide, Roundup. The show’s guests include:
Jeffrey Smith, bestselling author of Seeds of Deception and Genetic Roulette, leading spokesperson on the health dangers of GMOs, and an expert on the ways Monsanto manipulates science to cover-up health impacts.
Brent Wisner, a lead attorney in federal litigation against Monsanto, in which thousands claim that exposure to Roundup caused non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The litigation forced Monsanto to release documents, emails, and texts, which, according to Wisner’s firm, “tell an alarming story of ghostwriting, scientific manipulation, collusion with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and previously undisclosed information about how the human body absorbs glyphosate [the main ingredient in Roundup].”
Teri McCall, a plaintiff in the lawsuit. Teri’s husband Jack, accompanied by the family dog Duke, regularly sprayed Roundup around their farm. Jack died of Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, while Duke died of lymphoma.
Jeffrey Smith, the founder of the Institute for Responsible Technology, first appeared on The Doctors in 2015, after the World Health Organization’s expert committee made the determination that Roundup’s active ingredient glyphosate probably causes cancer. In that show, he faced off against Donna Farmer, Monsanto’s senior toxicologist, who dismissed the herbicide’s link to cancer saying, “I mean this very honestly, I am extremely highly confident in this product.” But according to Monsanto’s secret documents, says Smith, Farmer was far from confident in private.
Hour 2 – Advanced Medicine Monday with Dr. Rashid Buttar!
Dr. Buttar is back to talk about what’s happening in the world of health news. Here’s what we have in store for you today:
Two Meta-Analysis Reviews Confirm (Yet Again) the Link between Mercury and Autism Spectrum Disorder Mercury is a potent neurotoxin. Even the smallest amounts can cause cumulative adverse effects. Two of the most widespread forms of mercury exposure come from the organic compounds methylmercury (found in fish) and ethylmercury, which makes up 50% of the vaccine preservative thimerosal. The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) affirms that young children and fetuses are particularly sensitive to harmful mercury-related effects such as “brain damage, mental retardation, incoordination, blindness, seizures and inability to speak.” This calls into question public health authorities’ aggressive peddling of annual flu shots—many of which contain thimerosal. The influenza vaccine guidelines target all children who are at least six months of age, with two closely spaced doses recommended for very young children in their “first season of vaccination.” They also target pregnant women and women who “might” be pregnant.
Neurontin and Lyrica are a Death Sentence for New Brain Synapses A shocking study shows that these two drugs block the formation of new brain synapses1, drastically reducing the potential for rejuvenating brain plasticity – meaning that these drugs will cause brain decline that apparently robs one of the ability to rebuild. The study demonstrating this type of brain damage with these two drugs came out in 2009 but apparently the media has been very lax in getting any of this information to the public – most likely because they do not want to jeopardize their advertising income from this company.
New York Times confirms Natural News investigation: Mumps now spread mostly by vaccinated children The New York Times is now confirming that Natural News has been right all along about the real cause of mumps outbreaks in America. In a bombshell article entitled, “Mumps Makes a Comeback, Even Among the Vaccinated,” the NYT admits thatvaccinated children are spreading mumps. Via the NYT: (bolding added) Most of the recent cases occurred in outbreaks, including a large one in Arkansas, rather than as a sporadic here-a-case, there-a-case disease. And most of the outbreaks were among people 18 to 22 years old, most of whom had had the requisite two doses of mumps vaccine in childhood. “We are seeing it in a young and highly vaccinated population,” Dr. Routh said.
Gut bacteria may make or break your chances of cancer treatment working New, potent cancer therapies can act like daggers pressed into the hindquarters of the immune system, prodding it to lunge at any cancerous cells in the body. When the drugs work, the immune system tramples tumors into oblivion. But they don’t always work—in fact, cancer drugs can fail 60 to 70 percent of the time. The drugs might not give the immune system a sharp enough sticking in every patient. But according to a pair of new studies, it may not be the immune system that needs a swift kick—it may be the gut.
Common Heartburn Meds Show Ties to Kidney Trouble If you’re one of the millions of Americans who takes one of a class of anti-reflux meds such as Nexium, Prilosec and Prevacid, take heed: These drugs have been linked to higher odds of kidney trouble. The study couldn’t prove cause-and-effect — it’s possible that folks who need these heartburn medicines are simply more prone to kidney disease for other reasons. But the review of data did show a link. The medicines in question are called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). They reduce stomach acid production and are among the most widely prescribed medications in the world.
