Monday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
Surgeon general: US to ‘monitor’ whether vaccine exemptions being used properly U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy has advised that the Biden administration will “monitor” to ensure no one abuses COVID-19 vaccine exemptions. President Biden last week announced a mandate that required any company with at least 100 employees to mandate its workforce. The only way to avoid the mandate is to claim an exemption on either religious or medical grounds. Some critics argue that the exemptions allow for simple abuse, but Murthy insists the administration will ensure that does not happen. “Unfortunately, as a country, we have experience in dealing with exemptions, but we’ve got to be vigilant there and make sure that people are using them, you know, in the spirit that they’re intended and not abusing them or asking for exemptions when they don’t apply,” Murthy told CNN’s “State of the Union.” “That’s an area that we continue to monitor in the days and weeks ahead.” Biden’s vaccine mandate has met immediate opposition from Republican governors, who made clear that they plan to oppose the mandate with legal action if necessary after claiming the mandate was “unconstitutional.”
Members of Congress and Their Staff Are Exempt From Biden’s Vaccine Mandate President Joe Biden‘s new vaccine mandates for federal employees don’t apply to members of Congress or those who work for Congress or the federal court system. Biden issued two executive orders on Thursday requiring vaccination against COVID for federal workers and contractors who work for the federal government. He also asked the Department of Labor to issue an emergency order requiring businesses with more than 100 employees to ensure their workers are vaccinated or tested on a weekly basis. However, Biden’s order on federal workers applies to employees of the executive branch. The House of Representatives and the Senate belong to the separate legislative branch, and the courts to the judicial branch of the federal government. Biden’s COVID action plan – “Path Out of the Pandemic” – published on the White House website makes the effect of the vaccine mandate clear. The plan says: “Building on the President’s announcement in July to strengthen safety requirements for unvaccinated federal workers, the President has signed an Executive Order to take those actions a step further and require all federal executive branch workers to be vaccinated.”
GOP governors pledge to sue over Biden’s business vaccine mandate President Biden responded Friday to a pledge by some Republicans to sue over an incoming rule issued by the Labor Department requiring businesses with more than 100 employees to require that workers be vaccinated or undergo weekly testing. Republican governors are slamming the president over the , declaring it an overreach and unconstitutional. It’s the most sweeping vaccine mandate the federal government has yet announced. “Have at it,” the president retorted during a school visit Friday morning when a reporter asked if the new requirements constitute overreach and could be confronted with legal challenges. Mr. Biden also criticized some GOP governors’ resistance to vaccine mandates and mask requirements —”this isn’t a game,” he said. Republicans who have threatened to sue include Governors Kristi Noem of South Dakota and Brian Kemp of Georgia. “South Dakota will stand up to defend freedom. @JoeBiden see you in court,” Noem tweeted. “I will pursue every legal option available to the state of Georgia to stop this blatantly unlawful overreach by the Biden administration,” Kemp tweeted.
Medical Boards: Docs Who Spread COVID Misinformation Put License at Risk Three primary care boards issued a joint statement today backing the Federation of State Medical Boards’ recent statement saying that if physicians spread misinformation about COVID-19, their medical license could be suspended or revoked. Leaders of the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), and the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) said they support FSMB’s position. “We also want all physicians certified by our Boards to know that such unethical or unprofessional conduct may prompt their respective Board to take action that could put their certification at risk,” today’s statement read. “Expertise matters, and board-certified physicians have demonstrated that they have stayed current in their field. Spreading misinformation or falsehoods to the public during a time of a public health emergency goes against everything our Boards and our community of board-certified physicians stand for,” the leaders write. “The evidence that we have safe, effective, and widely available vaccines against COVID-19 is overwhelming. We are particularly concerned about physicians who use their authority to denigrate vaccination at a time when vaccines continue to demonstrate excellent effectiveness against severe illness, hospitalization, and death.”
Covid vaccine passports SCRAPPED as Sajid Javid confirms people won’t need them to get into nightclubs and cinemas PLANS to introduce Covid vaccine passports have been SCRAPPED as Sajid Javid confirms people won’t need them to get into nightclubs and cinemas. The Health Secretary revealed this morning that Covid jab passports won’t be introduced as a measure to fight the virus as we enter the winter months. He told the BBC today: “I am pleased to say that we will not be going ahead with plans for vaccine passports.” The Health Secretary said it was “absolutely right” of the Government to have looked into it, and that the idea will be “kept in the reserves” rather than implemented. Javid added that he “instinctively does not like the idea of people having to show passports to do basic things.” Just days ago, the Health Sec refused to rule out vaccine passports for pubs, clubs and restaurants — but denied there would be a firebreak lockdown in October. And on Friday Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden hinted that they would be “further extending” the use of Covid ID beyond just nightclubs and large indoor venues. But now in a dramatic U-turn, the Health Secretary confirmed that Covid certification won’t be in the Government’s armour as we battle the virus in the winter.
Caught on hot mic, Israeli minister says ‘green pass’ not based on epidemiology Imposing “green pass” rules on certain venues is needed only to pressure members of the public to get vaccinated, and not for medical reasons, Israeli Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz said on Sunday, ahead of the weekly Cabinet meeting. Horowitz was caught on a hot mic telling this to Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked, who was also unaware that the conversation was being taped and would be broadcast on Channel 12 News. In response to Shaked’s suggestion that the “green pass” could be removed as a requirement for outdoor seating at restaurants, Horowitz said: “For swimming pools, too, not just in restaurants.” “Epidemiologically, it’s true,” said Horowitz, adding, “The thing is, I’m telling you, our problem is people who don’t get vaccinated. We need [to influence] them a bit; otherwise, we won’t get out of this [pandemic situation].” Currently, he said, “there is a kind of universality to the ‘green pass’ system, other than at malls, where I think it should be imposed, [because] now it’s clear that it applies nowhere.” Horowitz went on to explain that the only way for there to be no exceptions—since people wonder why if it’s ok not to have a pass for pools “then why for water parks, outdoor facilities and sports?”—is to have the regulations be uniformly enforced. On the one hand, he added, “we don’t want to do things that have no medical justification. But I’m telling you that we have a problem. The ‘green pass’ isn’t even being enforced; certainly not in the Arab sector, where it doesn’t exist at all. And I’m seeing the effect on the hospitals.”
NY hospital to pause baby deliveries after staffers quit over vaccine mandate An upstate New York hospital said it will pause the delivery of babies in two weeks because of a spate of resignations by maternity unit workers who are objecting to COVID-19 vaccination mandates. Lewis County General Hospital, in Lowville, will temporarily stop delivering babies after Sept. 24, WWNY reported. During a news conference Friday afternoon, Lewis County Health System CEO Gerald Cayer said seven of the 30 hospital workers who resigned were from the hospital’s maternity ward. He added that another seven maternity unit staffers were undecided about getting the vaccine, the television station reported. The workers were objecting to a Sept. 27 deadline to receive a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, the Watertown Daily Times reported. Then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued the state mandate on Aug. 23. Twenty of the staff members who resigned worked in clinical positions like nurses, therapists and technicians, the newspaper reported. “If we can pause the service and now focus on recruiting nurses who are vaccinated, we will be able to reengage in delivering babies here in Lewis County,” Cayer told reporters. Cayer said 165 hospital employees, or 27% of the facility’s workforce, have yet to be vaccinated against COVID-19, WWNY reported. There have been 464 workers who have received the vaccine, Cayer said.
Data shows Covid booster shots are ‘not appropriate’ at this time, U.S. and international scientists conclude An expert review of scientific evidence to date has concluded that Covid-19 vaccine booster shots are not needed at this time for the general public, a group of leading U.S. and international scientists said Monday in the peer-reviewed journal The Lancet. The conclusion by scientists, including two senior Food and Drug Administration officials and the World Health Organization, came as studies continue to show the authorized Covid vaccines in the U.S. remain highly effective against severe disease and hospitalization caused by the fast-spreading delta variant. While Covid vaccine effectiveness against mild disease may wane over time, protection against severe disease may persist, the scientists said. That’s because the body’s immune system is complex, they said, and has other defenses besides antibodies that may protect someone from getting seriously sick. “Current evidence does not, therefore, appear to show a need for boosting in the general population, in which efficacy against severe disease remains high,” the scientists wrote, adding the wide distribution of boosters is “not appropriate at this stage in the pandemic.”
As many return to the office, tensions flare between the ‘vaxxed and unvaxxed’ Office politics have been a thing of the past for most of us over the last 18 months, as millions of people worked from home throughout Covid-induced lockdowns. Now, as many employees return to their offices, tensions appear to be emerging along new lines: those who are vaccinated against Covid, and those who are not. In the U.S. in particular, companies have taken a rigorous approach toward employees’ Covid vaccination status, with many announcing that their staff must be fully vaccinated in order to return to the workplace. Then, in late August, the FDA granted full approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid shot. That approval is already inflaming workplace conflicts because it has meant that fewer employees can remain “on the fence” regarding vaccine safety, with some workers now hardening their stance on whether vaccines should be mandatory, particularly when it comes to their co-workers, according to one workplace consultancy. Seyfarth at Work conducted surveys of hundreds of employees through to late August and found there was an increasing number of workplace conflicts related to vaccination.
Questions of The Day!
I have seen Jonathan Otto series and your presentation really touched me because I think and believe exactly like you. But now I am having the biggest dilemma (or maybe not) if we really trust God. I have been unvaccinated all this time since the shots when I was a baby, 65 years-ago. My place of work for 23 years accepted my religious exemption, but now they are saying beginning this Mon. Sept.13 until Oct. 31 I will be put on leave. After that I will be terminated unless things change. My full retirement is now Dec. 2021 but they won’t keep me until them. Now the dilemma: a few weeks ago I heard clearly this message, not that I was asking God at that moment to help me or tell me what to do, but I already had this concern about loosing my job. the message was: “Jesus was crucified and you are worried about 2 shots?!” I can not tell you how surprised I was and my first thought was: “God has some sense of humor.” I am say that because the tone of God’s voice was like when a friend tells you: come on, do it” in an encouraging way. What would you say to that? Is it our time or to some of us to sacrifice ourselves for God, for humanity like Jesus did? Is God testing my faith, because he knows on my own I would never, ever consider taking this vaccine or any medication what so ever. I am very petite (size 0 to 2), but healthy (only with natural stuff, yoga Kriya a, Pranayma and Meditation)and strong like only God could make me. Please, I would love to hear from you or anyone. Blessings and gratitude.
Hi Robert and super D, I hope you have been good? My left armpit has been hurting. I was using the deodorant from choose to be healthy until it became unavailable, then I changed back to another natural deodorant which has no aluminum or nasties but it does have baking soda. When I touch the area the armpit is itchy and tender. I don’t know if I’ve been itching to hard as well? I’m just curious when would I generally be more worried about this issue? I went to my awesome doctor with no tests, he just felt in the area. I mentioned could something be blocked in this region and he agreed. Can I have his license with pay? Lol. Seriously though, do you think it’s a blockage of my lymph? I’ve been trying a homeopathic cream for lymph drainage, called lymphdiaral by pascoe brand. I feel bad for my co-workers because I’m not using any deodorant right now shhhh!!! Lol
Oh p.s. can you please say your more sore than you were before, too funny, you just did.
Prayers and positive energy to you all peace ☮️ But Don’t back down y’all ❤️
Thanks RSB and Super D,
If I am lucky i will see you in Chicago soon. I was doing yard work for an elder. When I arrived she was worried about masking and she asked if I was vaccinated. I politely said “Nobody has a right to ask me that anyway”. We moved past that and I did the work. When we were done she had the courage to say “I think I have a right to know”. I went off on the philosophy of abstract rights. Long story short we disagreed but that is not the point of the comment. The point is that she is obviously pro-vax, her daughter is a teacher in Chicago so we know she has to live a life of conforming to modern ideology. She called me the other day to ask me to work and she said my daughter has had a terrible case of The West Nile Virus. I doubt i will ever find out but I would love to know the basis for that diagnosis.
Comment of The Day!
Hi Robert and Super D
Just listened to your show with Biden again. Is it me or does he keep saying the ‘stink’ minority? . The guy can hardly string a sentence together, I thought we had it bad here with the buffoon that is Boris. Thank God we don’t have Fauci. I loved Ula’s comment a while back about fertilising her plants with Fauci comments- so much so that now when my dogs go out to take a dump I say that they’re ‘going for a Fauci’. Love the show this is where I get my news from.
Bless you both, Jen
