Sunday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
Johnson County parents sue over vaccine requirement, compare it to military draft A Johnson County lawyer and his wife — who have never vaccinated their 4-year-old son — are suing Blue Valley schools and state officials, calling Kansas’ immunization requirements unconstitutional and archaic. Linus and Terri Baker had previously sued the Kansas Department of Children and Families, which in 2017 had notified them it would vaccinate the boy against their wishes. That never happened. Last year, a federal judge dismissed all claims. Now that the boy is approaching school age, the family is trying again. This week the Bakers — who are the child’s biological grandparents and now adoptive parents — filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court of Kansas against the Blue Valley school district, Gov. Laura Kelly, Attorney General Derek Schmidt and Lee Norman, secretary for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
Special Guest Dr. Marlene Siegel, DVM!
Dr. Siegel’s passion for medicine was fueled in 1975 when she became an emergency medical technician. While going to college, she worked on an ambulance and in an emergency room. She became the first female paramedic in the state of Fla in 1977. Veterinary medicine was always her first priority, and she fulfilled her life’s passion when she graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985.
Dr. Siegel spent the first year post graduation in a 5 doctor small animal and exotic practice. She then accepted a position in a veterinary emergency clinic where she practiced and managed the hospital. In addition to the emergency clinic, Dr. Siegel worked in several daytime practices as a relief veterinarian. She opened her existing small animal and exotic practice in 1987.

Toxic pond algae is killing dogs—how to protect your pooch Your dog bounds heedlessly into a local lake or pond, playfully splashing in the water. But within minutes, your canine companion is staggering, drooling or suffering seizures. Left untreated, the dog will likely die. This fate has befallen a handful of pooches exposed to toxic algae blooms this year, experts say. “Blue-green algae is a bacteria that during certain times of year, certain weather conditions, will produce a toxin that’s very harmful to dogs,” said Dr. Julie Schildt, an emergency and critical care veterinarian at the University of Tennessee’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Last week, three dogs died within hours of swimming in an algae-polluted local pond in Wilmington, N.C. All three dogs—Abby, Izzy and Harpo—began suffering from seizures within 15 minutes of their evening splash, said the dogs’ owner, Melissa Martin.
Question of The Day!
Hi Robert and Mr. Super D. My question today is what type of CBD oil would you recommend for dog lymphoma. I’m a dude, named after my Grandpa. I’ve been using the raw formula but not sure if I should be using a different formula that would find it’s way to the cancer cells better. The lymphoma is near the lungs but on the outside I believe. We chose not to do chemo but did have to put her on prednisone for two weeks to bring her calcium levels down. Other than that she’s been on a Keto diet, CBD, TCH at night and some chinese herbs. I believe she got the cancer from when we lived in a subdivision that sprayed the field that she played in. We have since moved and are now on 5 acres. So far I believe she’s doing good. Love the show and always appreciate you taking our questions.
Scientists are working on a cat vaccine to relieve allergic reactions by people For the millions of people who love our furry feline friends but cannot be around them without sneezing, wheezing and almost ceasing to breathe, there’s hope. Scientists in Switzerland are working on a vaccine called “HypoCat” to lessen a specific protein that makes humans allergic to them, according to a report in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. The vaccine for cats would minimize their secretions of the Fel d 1 allergen, a protein of which approximately 10% of the population in the Western hemisphere is allergic. Currently, those who suffer cat allergies either take something to treat the symptoms or avoid cats altogether – because it’s easier than popping allergy pills and not as painful as a shot. The Fel d 1 allergen is present in cat dander, which then ends up all over couches, clothes, and everything in the cat’s vicinity. An allergic reaction is your immune system believing it’s under attack when that protein is inhaled.
Vermont to airdrop oral rabies vaccine The state is gearing up to airdrop an oral rabies vaccine across Vermont — an initiative that officials say is a “research project” with far-reaching public benefits. Starting Sunday, Vermonters will see 450,000 packs of bait fall into dozens of communities statewide. The bait will be airdropped from planes and, in more populated areas, hand-placed to avoid homes and roadways. According to Vermont public health veterinarian Natalie Kwit, the packs will not harm pets or humans. Instead, like injectable vaccines, the bait is designed to make animals’ immune systems develop antibodies to fight off rabies. “This program is important because we want to prevent rabies in wildlife,” Kwit said. “We’ve had rabies for quite some time in this state, at least since the ’90s. With vaccinating wildlife, that means there’s less likelihood of transmitting rabies to humans.”
Prescription Infant Formulas Found To Be Contaminated With Aluminum You may not think aluminum is a big deal, but it is. For anybody who has looked into aluminum toxicology, it’s quite clear and apparent that it has no place inside of any living biological organism. Putting it simply, it wreaks havoc on our biology. High amounts of aluminum have been found in the brains of people with Alzheimer’s disease, with experts in the field believing that aluminum brain accumulation may be one of the main causes of Alzheimer’s disease. It’s also been discovered within the brains of MS patients, and some of the highest aluminum content ever recorded in brain tissue has also been discovered in people with autism. Aluminum is associated with several diseases. But an adult body can do a great job of flushing out aluminum.
Question of The Day!
Hi Robert and Super Don!
A good friend of mine has recently been informed that she has an aneurysm, as shown on an MRI. Are there any homeopathic remedies and supplements you might suggest that could be helpful to her? She has chosen to undergo surgery next month as advised by her doctor, given the aneurysm’s size and location. Any thoughts and suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Many, many thanks,
FDA proposes graphic warning labels on cigarettes Smokers would have to get past some gruesome imagery to purchase a pack of cigarettes under a new rule proposed Thursday by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Cigarette packs would have to carry very large warning labels that would feature color photos that graphically illustrate the damage smoking can cause, the FDA said Thursday. It would be the most significant change to cigarette labels in more than 35 years. These warning labels would take up half the space on the front and back of a cigarette pack. They would also occupy at least 20% of the area at the top of all cigarette advertising. Most developed countries worldwide have already adopted similar graphic warning labels, according to the Associated Press.
