Wednesday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
Washington state bill limits measles vaccine exemptions Washington state lawmakers voted Tuesday to remove parents’ ability to claim a personal or philosophical exemption from vaccinating their children for measles, although medical and religious exemptions will remain. The vote comes as the number of measles cases nationwide this year has passed 600. The measure now heads to Gov. Jay Inslee, who has expressed support for limiting exemptions. The state has seen 74 cases of measles this year. Most of those cases were centered in one county and involved children 10 or younger who were not immunized. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported that as of the end of last week, 626 cases of measles have been confirmed in the U.S. so far this year, up from 555 as of a week ago. While 22 states have reported cases, most of the nation’s cases are centered in New York City and in nearby Rockland County north of the city.
A Serious Mental Health Crisis Is Turning Doctors To Drugs Today, a new report by the British Medical Association (BMA), the trade union that represents all doctors in the UK, has highlighted a serious mental health crisis within the medical profession.
Of the 4300 UK doctors and medical students that took part in the survey:
- 80% are at high or very high risk of burnout, driven mostly by exhaustion
- 40% are currently suffering from a broader psychological or emotional condition
- One in three use alcohol, drugs, self-medication or prescribing as a way to cope with a mental health condition
These statistics clearly demonstrate that the enormous demands being placed on doctors have come at a huge price and the current pressures and poor mental health can no longer be ignored – the workforce has been pushed to literal breaking point and all the causes need to be addressed.
Question of The Day!
Hi, Dr. aka Teacher Bell. I have a 26 year old daughter who is pregnant and having difficulty sleeping, is it safe for her to use CBD? She used it prior to becoming pregnant but we can’t find much info for safety in pregnancy. Do you have any other ideas if she should not use the CBD? She is due end of September.
Thank you for all you and everybody on and behind the show due for all of us listeners.
Aluminum Defense product in development to remove neurotoxic aluminum from your body How many times have you grilled vegetables or fish wrapped in foil? How many aluminum pots do you own? How many aluminum cans are in your pantry right now? If you’re like most people, aluminum is a metal that you use every day without giving it a second thought, but it’s actually a lot more dangerous than you might think. That’s because aluminum is actually a neurotoxin than accumulates in your organs, where it causes all sorts of health problems. Even if you do your best to avoid cooking with aluminum or buying food packaged in it, you’re not out of the woods. A public health statement by the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry states that the average adult in the U.S. eats somewhere in the range of 7 to 9 milligrams of aluminum every day in their food. It is sometimes added during the processing of foods like flour, coloring and anticaking agents, and baking powder. We’re also exposed to small amounts in the air we breathe, particularly in industrial and urban areas, as well as drinking water and consumer products like antacids, buffered aspirin, and deodorant.
Seven seconds of Spiderman viewing yields a 20 percent phobia symptom reduction As the Marvel Avenger Endgame premieres in movie theaters this week, Israeli researchers are revealing that exposure to Spiderman and Antman movie excerpts decreases symptoms of spider and ant phobias, respectively. Exposure therapy for specific phobias (e.g., of ants and spiders) utilizes neutral exposure to a phobic stimulus to counteract an irrational fear. As one is increasingly exposed to the phobic stimuli one ceases to fear it. To date, the effect of positive exposure, albeit fantasy (e.g. in the form of Marvel movies), has not been attempted in cognitive behavioral therapies. Prof. Menachem Ben-Ezra from the School of Social Work at Ariel University together with Dr. Yaakov Hoffman, of the Interdisciplinary Department of Social Sciences at Bar-Ilan University, exposed 424 subjects to Spiderman and Antman movie excerpts to see if spider and ant phobic symptoms would decrease. Their findings were recently published in the journal Frontiers in Psychiatry.
Hour 2 – Outside The Box With Ty Bollinger!
It’s time to go Outside The Box again with Ty Bollinger! What will we be talking about today?
CDC Stats: Opioids Kill 4x More Than the Vietnam War; Natural Medicine is the Solution Almost a quarter of a million Americans have died in the past two decades from overdosing on opioid drugs, and new CDC statistics show the crisis continues to accelerate. Here’s why evidence-based, time-tested natural alternatives are needed now more than ever. A new CDC report titled, “Drug Overdose Deaths in the United States, 1999-2017,” reveals there in 2017 there were a staggering 70,237 drug overdose deaths in America. This represents a 9.6 percent increase from 2016 statistics. Perhaps most alarming, the rate of death from synthetic opioids such as fentanyl increased 45 percent between 2016 and 2017. When the 2017 totals are added to overdose statistics from 1999-2016, during which 200,000 died from synthetic opioid overdose, about 230,000 have succumbed to this pharmaceutically-induced epidemic — about 4 times the U.S. casualties of the entire Vietnam War conflict (58,220 deaths).
250+ Examples of Natural Remedies Beating Pharmaceuticals One of the greatest if not the greatest triumph of biomedical science today is its role in validating ancient healing modalities that long before the advent of science, and even recorded history itself, were passed down “orally” from generation to generation in the vast body of folkloric medical knowledge that still forms the basis for the majority of the world’s primary health care system. These so-called “natural” or “alternative” modalities, which our species owes its present day survivorship to after eons of dependency on them, are increasingly gaining the attention of men and women in white lab coats intent on unlocking the mysteries of how they work, and in many cases, why they work better than patented, synthetic, chemical-based medications. As you may already know, at GreenMedInfo.com, we now have over 10,000 database sections dedicated to finding scientific support for natural alternatives, with six main indexes: Natural Substances, Ailments, Therapeutic Actions, Problematic Actions, Pharmacological Actions, and Problem Substances. You’ll find about 47,000 study abstracts distributed across these databases, with new research added on a daily basis.
The Promise of Good Health; Are We Jumping Off the Cliff in the U.S.? In the United States, many legislators and public health officials are busy trying to make vaccines de facto compulsory—either by removing parental/personal choice given by existing vaccine exemptions or by imposing undue quarantines and fines on those who do not comply with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) vaccine edicts. Officials in California are seeking to override medical opinion about fitness for vaccination, while those in New York are mandating the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine for 6-12-month-old infants for whom its safety and effectiveness “have not been established.” American children would be better served if these officials—before imposing questionable and draconian measures—studied child health outcomes in Japan. With a population of 127 million, Japan has the healthiest children and the very highest “healthy life expectancy” in the world—and the least vaccinated children of any developed country. The U.S., in contrast, has the developed world’s most aggressive vaccination schedule in number and timing, starting at pregnancy, at birth and in the first two years of life. Does this make U.S. children healthier? The clear answer is no.
Has Drug-Driven Medicine Become A Form of Human Sacrifice? Benjamin Rush accurately foretold a grave possibility facing Americans today, namely, that the art and science of healing be restricted to a select class of allopathic physicians, who have the sole legal right to recommend and administer medicines, and whose pharmacopeia excludes – as a matter of principle – all the healing foods, vitamins and herbs which have been used safely and effectively for countless millennia in the prevention and treatment of disease. We have entered an era where medicine no longer bears any resemblance to the art and science of healing. The doctor no longer facilitates the body’s innate self-healing capabilities with time, care, good nutrition and special help from our plant allies. To the contrary, medicine has transmogrified into a business enterprise founded on the inherently nihilistic principles of pure, unbridled capitalism, with an estimated 786,000 Americans dying annually from iatrogenic or medically-caused deaths.*
