Wednesday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
Here comes the cold and dark: The winter solstice, the day of the year with the least amount of daylight in the Northern Hemisphere, occurs early Wednesday morning. The solstice happens at the same instant everywhere on Earth. In the U.S., it happens at 5:44 a.m. EST Wednesday (or 4:44 a.m. CT, 3:44 a.m. MT and 2:44 a.m. PT). After the solstice, the amount of daylight slowly starts to get longer again each day.
Chiropractors — who treat neuromuscular disorders through manual adjustment or manipulation of the spine — are controversial. Some patients praise them for alleviating pain without addictive medication or expensive surgery; others call them quacks. In October, an autopsy report revealed that Playboy model Katie May died in February after a chiropractor adjusted her back, leaving the 34-year-old with a torn artery that stopped blood flow to her brain. May’s estate is asking for a seven-figure settlement from the medical professional, citing negligence.
“There are a lot of negative stereotypes associated with chiropractors,” says Noel Lozares, a physical therapist based in Brooklyn. “I’ve had chiropractor colleagues who have worked on me who are good and judicious. But, unfortunately, there are those who are cavalier.”
Deirdre has worked tirelessly with the NAACP and National Action Network to create the first medical malpractice health initiative. Deirdre says that she wants this organization to be the tool of voice for all Americans. Learn about their Mobile Malpractice APP here.
Founded in 2013 by groups of everyday people who firmly believe that every citizen of this country has the right to fight to life and have justice served when they have been harmed by others, and strongly desire to raise awareness and petition for change. The National Medical Malpractice Advocacy Association is the first non-partisan civil rights organization of its kind with chapters throughout the entire United States that solely dedicates itself as a national network to end medical malpractice through partnerships of local and national organizations across America.
Through education and awareness and advocacy NMMAA seeks to improve the quality of healthcare in America for men, women and children.
The National Medical Malpractice Advocacy Association dreams a world where people who must receive services from medical professionals receive a fair and humane distribution of health care, compassion, and resources. Yet, each year, 440,000 patients die from medical negligence; that’s 1,205 every day. NMMAA dreams of a world where, everyday those who enter the medical community will have trust that their lives are in good hands.
The primary goal of the National Medical Malpractice Advocacy Association is to be the organization of choice that can help bring real solutions to real problems.
As an advocate for social justice, The National Medical Malpractice Advocacy Association (NMMAA) will seek to empower America through education that will grant opportunities for a just and fair society. Through partnerships and humanitarian efforts NMMAA will be the organization of choice.
Epidemiologists at the state Department of Health are investigating their agency’s own annual holiday luncheon after dozens of employees reported falling ill after the party last week. About 70 staff members claim to have experienced gastrointestinal issues following the catered event at the Harold Runnels Building attended by more than 200 employees, according to a spokesman. Health Secretary Lynn Gallagher wrote in an email to staff Monday that investigators have not identified a specific food from the party that may have caused the outbreak.

The CIA has accused Russia of interfering in the 2016 presidential election by hacking into Democratic and Republican computer networks and selectively releasing emails. But critics might point out the U.S. has done similar things.
Final tally shows Trump lost popular vote by 2.8 million – but he BEAT Clinton by 3 million votes outside of California and New York.
A local church in Maryland was just fined $12,000 for giving shelter to homeless people living in the community. Over the last several years local governments have been using food and safety concerns along with zoning codes to penalize those who are trying to help the less fortunate.
In an effort to remind parents that vaccines can kill their baby, a billboard has been placed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on interstate I-10 at College Drive, to honor Baby Reid Englehart and all of the other children taken from these toxic injections. Baby Reid died at the age of two months old, only nine days after the doctor said it was safe to vaccinate him with eight vaccine doses, while he was sick. The vaccines were never investigated before his death was ruled as being caused by some unproven reason, rather than the vaccines that overstimulated his immune system.
It’s the time of year for that most festive of holiday traditions: lying to your children. As a country, we expend a huge amount of energy convincing our kids of the existence of Santa. In one survey, 84 percent of parents said they had taken their child to visit more than two Santas that year. Taxpayer money even goes into the effort. The U.S. Postal Service helps parents provide replies to children’s letters to Santa complete with a North Pole postmark. With all this work, it’s no wonder that 85 percent of 5-years-olds think Santa Claus is real, according to research by Jacqueline D. Wooley, a psychologist at the University of Michigan. Psychologists argue about the effect of the Santa myth on kids, with some saying it is benign and others saying it is harmful.
