COVID19 VACCINE EDUCATION INITIATIVE MESSAGING RECOMMENDATIONS The Ad Council and COVID Collaborative are leading a massive communications effort to educate the American public and build confi dence around the COVID-19 vaccines.Guided by the leading minds in science and medicine and fueled by the best talent in the private sector, the COVID-19 Vaccine Education Initiative is designed to reach different audiences, including communities of color who have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19.The following insights are based on extensive qualitative and quantitative research we conducted in December 2020 to ensure our messages are research-based and resonate with audiences. Specifi cally, we tested potential messaging with a variety of Americans nationwide, including white Americans, Black Americans and Hispanics
New study shows COVID-19 could hide in your brain and reactivate down the road A new study shows coronavirus may actually hide in the brain, where it could reactivate down the road. While there is still much to learn about COVID-19, researchers at Georgia State University have studied why symptoms widely vary with those infected with the virus. Lead researcher Dr. Mukesh Kumar, an associate professor in the Department of Biology, said they’ve learned through studying mice for months, COVID-19 may clear the lungs, but not necessarily the body. “(The) brain is one of the organs where viruses like to hide. We know that because there is no immune response. So viruses like to go to a place and hide where they can be safe,” said Kumar. The virus can hide in the brain, remain dormant there and even show itself again. “It’s hard for a virus to hide in your lungs. It’s much easier for the virus to hide in your central nervous system,” said Kumar. Signs of this are evident with loss of taste and smell common in people infected with COVID-19. That is an attack on the central nervous system through the brain.
Israeli Study Shows A Majority Of Those Vaccinated Can Be Infected By SARS-CoV-2 As vaccine distribution is picking up with nearly 70 million doses administered worldwide, data regarding large-scale vaccination is becoming available. Last week, Israel released preliminary data on the effects of vaccination for infection. Early indications suggest that after vaccination, as many as 70% of people can still be infected. More data is needed to confirm the effects on transmissibility among the vaccinated. Israel, which leads the world in vaccinations per capita at around 43 doses per 100 people, developed this study to understand how the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine affects viral infection. Previous studies show the vaccine is effective in preventing Covid-19 related mild and severe symptoms. While the Covid-19 vaccines are intended to protect a patient from symptoms, having your shots doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t still be infected by SARS-CoV-2 or spread it to others. The study contrasted a group of 200,000 vaccine recipients aged 60 and above with a group of 200,000 who hadn’t been vaccinated in the same age group. The researchers’ initial findings found that the two-dose Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine reduced infection chances by 33% two weeks after the first injection.

Saturated fats in butter, meats, and cheese may not cause heart disease despite warnings While a diet rich in butter, fatty meats, and cheeses may taste great to many, doctors have warned about the potential damage those foods do to the heart for years. Now, a new study contends that health experts have been looking at saturated fats all wrong. A team from the University of Bergen says foods high in saturated fat may not actually lead to heart disease. Despite the belief that saturated fats block the arteries, the study reveals cholesterol is actually vital for keeping cells healthy. Researchers say when people remove these foods from their diets, they need to eat more products high in polyunsaturated fats to get the same benefits that come from having a smaller amount of saturated fats. These substitutes include sunflower oil, walnuts, and fish. The Norwegian team discovered some saturated fats occur naturally in a wide variety of foods, including breast milk. The scientists say people with high cholesterol who suffer cardiovascular disease may actually have low-grade inflammation and insulin resistance. They also question the benefit of lowering blood cholesterol by adding polyunsaturated fatty acids to the diet and not addressing the root causes.
Hour 2 – Outside The Box With Ty Bollinger!
It’s time to go Outside The Box again with Ty Bollinger! What will we be talking about today?
Trump officially opens ‘Office of the Former President’ Former President Donald Trump has officially opened an office in Florida that will serve to continue his political agenda. A statement from the office Monday night said it will manage Trump’s correspondence, public statements, appearances and official activities to “advance the interest of the United States.” The office will also “carry on the agenda of the Trump Administration through advocacy, organizing, and public activism,” the statement says. The move comes less than a week after Trump left the Oval Office. Last Friday, Trump said he will make a comeback in some form, but did not specify how. “We’ll do something, but not just yet,” Trump told journalist Rob Crilly of the Washington Examiner.
Delingpole: ‘Trussst Usss! We’re Not Evil’ Claims Davos WEF Great Reset Promo Video The World Economic Forum wants you to know that there is nothing sinister about its globalist masterplan — aka The Great Reset — for a New World Order. It says so in a promo video, released to coincide with its annual Davos summit (which is taking place online all this week). In the video, the WEF admits that some people think that the Great Reset sounds like ‘some nefarious plan for world domination.’ But nothing could be further from the truth, the video goes on to insist. The Great Reset is simply “an opportunity to build a better world.” If people think otherwise, it claims, it’s all the fault of the ‘broken system’ and the ‘pandemic.’ It’s not surprising that people who’ve been disenfranchised by a broken system and pushed even further by the pandemic will suspect global leaders of conspiracy. So says the WEF. But could there be a more plausible explanation for people’s concern about the Great Reset: that they’ve started to do their homework and don’t like what they’ve discovered. For many years, the annual Davos cavalcade of private jets and limousines was something of a joke: ‘billionaires coming to tell millionaires how ordinary people should live.’
“Experts” Now Say Americans Should Wear THREE Masks Citing researchers at Virginia Tech, CNBC says that Americans should consider wearing THREE face masks in order to protect against the spread of COVID-19. After Dr. Fauci asserted that wearing two face coverings instead of one would be “more effective” in stopping the virus, CNBC’s Contessa Brewer went even further. “The experts keep telling us that wearing masks is really about protecting others from ourselves in the event that we are contagious, but you know if other people aren’t wearing their masks or they’re wearing them improperly, we need to protect ourselves,” she said as she began to put a mask on. “So experts say you can double up with a tight weave fabric mask for added protection,” said Brewer while placing a second mask over her face. She then cited Virginia Tech researchers who found that doubling up on masks can increase efficacy by 50-75% before announcing, “A three layer mask could block up to 90% of the particles.” Brewer then pulled out a Chinese KN95 mask, which apparently has five layers and is so tight it leaves a mark on the face after wearing it.
U.S. ‘actively looking’ at mandating COVID-19 testing for domestic air travel The Biden administration is “actively looking” at expanding mandatory COVID-19 testing to travelers on U.S. domestic flights, a senior Centers for Disease Control and Prevention official said on Tuesday. On a call with reporters, Dr. Marty Cetron, director for the Division of Global Migration and Quarantine at CDC, was asked about whether new domestic travel testing requirements might be employed. Cetron replied that there were “conversations that are ongoing and looking at what the types and locations of testing might be… We’re actively looking at it.” Last week, President Joe Biden directed U.S. agencies to make recommendations to “impose additional public health measures for domestic travel” and to consider new requirements for people crossing land borders. Reuters reported Friday that administration officials said that could include requiring negative COVID-19 tests before flying domestically. “We realize that there’s been a dramatic evolution and increase in both testing platforms and testing capacity. I think this is a really important part of our toolkit to combat this pandemic,” Cetron said. On Tuesday, new CDC rules took effect requiring nearly all international air travelers aged 2 and older to present a negative coronavirus test taken within three calendar days of travel or proof of COVID-19 recovery to enter the United States.
Microwaves used to deactivate coronavirus, flu, other aerosolized viruses As the pandemic has continued to spread globally, studies indicate the COVID-19 virus may be contained inaerosols that can be generated and spread through breathing, coughing, sneezing, or talking by infected individuals. Researchers are increasingly focused on developing tools and methods to assist in decontaminating surfaces and spaces. While scientists have previously explored the use of electromagnetic energy to deactivate flu virus in bulk fluids, less work has been done to understand the role of nonionizing radiation, such as microwaves, in reducing the infectivity of viral pathogens in aerosols. The tools required to both safely contain contaminated aerosol streams and expose these aerosols to controlled, well-characterized microwave doses have not been readily available. In Review of Scientific Instruments, researchers from the Air Force Research Laboratory report development of a set of experimental tools capable of presenting electromagnetic waves to an aerosol mixture of biological media and virus with the capability to vary power, energy, and frequency of the electromagnetic exposure. The researchers seek to better characterize the threshold levels of microwave energy needed to inactivate aerosolized viral particles and, thus, reduce their ability to spread infection.
China deploys anal swabs to test for COVID-19 China has begun using anal swabs to test those it considers at high risk of contracting COVID-19, state TV reported, with social media users and travellers squirming over the invasive procedure which doctors say can be more effective in detecting the virus. Officials took anal swabs from residents of neighbourhoods with confirmed COVID-19 cases in Beijing last week, broadcaster CCTV said, while those in designated quarantine facilities have also undergone the test. Small, localised outbreaks in recent weeks have seen multiple cities in northern China sealed off from the rest of the country and prompted mass testing campaigns—which up until now have mostly been conducted using throat and nose swabs. But the anal swabs method “can increase the detection rate of infected people” as traces of the virus linger longer in the anus than in the respiratory tract, Li Tongzeng, a senior doctor from Beijing’s You’an Hospital, told CCTV. Users of China’s popular Twitter-like Weibo social media platform reacted to the method with a mix of mirth and horror. “So lucky I returned to China earlier,” one user wrote. “Low harm, but extreme humiliation,” another said, using a laughing emoticon.
Merck Discontinues Development of SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 Vaccine Candidates; Continues Development of Two Investigational Therapeutic Candidates Merck (NYSE: MRK), known as MSD outside the United States and Canada, today announced that the company is discontinuing development of its SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 vaccine candidates, V590 and V591, and plans to focus its SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 research strategy and production capabilities on advancing two therapeutic candidates, MK-4482 and MK-7110. This decision follows Merck’s review of findings from Phase 1 clinical studies for the vaccines. In these studies, both V590 and V591 were generally well tolerated, but the immune responses were inferior to those seen following natural infection and those reported for other SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 vaccines. Merck continues to advance clinical programs and to scale-up manufacturing for two investigational medicines, MK-7110 and MK-4482 (molnupiravir); molnupiravir is being developed in collaboration with Ridgeback Bio. “We are grateful to our collaborators who worked with us on these vaccine candidates and to the volunteers in the trials,” said Dr. Dean Y. Li, president, Merck Research Laboratories. “We are resolute in our commitment to contribute to the global effort to relieve the burden of this pandemic on patients, health care systems and communities.” Due to the discontinuation, the company will record a charge in the fourth quarter of 2020. The charge will be included in Merck’s generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) results, but will not impact non-GAAP results.
18-Year-Old College Student Turns His Father in to FBI, Gets $138K on GoFundMe Texas: Jackson Reffitt, an 18-year-old college student, said his father, Guy Reffitt, is part of a far-right militia group and that his views have become radicalized over the years. He admitted to contacting the FBI after the Capitol riots about his father. As a result, Guy Reffitt, 48, is accused of obstruction of justice and unlawful entry at the Capital. Jackson told the FBI his father previously said, “If you turn me in, you’re a traitor and you know what happens to traitors…traitors get shot.” Jackson’s mother said her husband is “super passionate” and sometimes says things he doesn’t mean. On the same day Jackson was interviewed on CNN by Chris Cuomo – brother of New York’s Governor – he set up the Jackson Reffitt college fund on GoFundMe, which now has donations of more than $138,000. He set up the funding page after people asked to donate to him. Jackson wrote, “I might be kicked out of my house due to my involvement in my dad’s case, so every cent might help me survive.”
