Michigan teen incarcerated for not doing online schoolwork during COVID-19 pandemic, report says A 15-year-old girl from Metro Detroit was sent to juvenile detention at the end of the school year for not completing her online school assignments during the COVID-19 pandemic. ProPublica reported Tuesday that the 15-year-old from Beverly Hills attends Groves High School in Birmingham and had her probation revoked by a judge in May after repeated violations of her probation. ProPublica identifies the minor as Grace (her middle name) and says she has a learning disability and struggled when Groves switched to remote learning. She previously was put on probation on charges of domestic violence and theft, with conditions that included she attend school and complete her homework. That was in April, by which time all schools were closed due to COVID-19 and remote learning was in place. The court hearing was held on April 24 and, a few days later, Grace, who has ADHD and receives support services, contacted her caseworker, Rachel Giroux, and she felt overwhelmed and had overslept while feeling anxious about the probation requirements ProPublica reported. Her mom also said she was anxious and both were working on a schedule to get Grace on task.
‘I’m scared’: In Detroit, a city hit hard by COVID-19, reopening classrooms sparks protests The fury surrounding the start of summer school in Detroit this week offers a preview of the emotional battles that could hit many more communities this fall. The city’s main public school district made the unusual decision to open classrooms for in-person summer learning starting Monday in hopes of helping children catch up four months after the coronavirus forced schools to close. While the district says it took safety precautions to prevent the spread of the virus and stressed that no students or teachers were forced to participate in face-to-face instruction, the first two days of classes were met with protests. Activists blocked school buses from leaving a bus depot. A civil rights lawyer, who used the word “genocide” to describe the effect of the district’s decision because the student population is 96 percent Black or Latino, says she plans to seek an injunction to close the schools. The head of the city teachers union called in-person summer school a “mind-boggling decision.” And some parents expressed grave reservations about whether their children would be safe. “I’m scared,” said Kim Martin, 50, who was picking up her son, Allyn, an eighth grader, from his summer school classes at the Brenda Scott Academy on Detroit’s east side Monday. “I don’t want my son to get sick. He’s an asthmatic.”
Questions of The Day!
My son wrote to u the other day for me regarding what I think is an allergy attack. I am in New England (I’m from Florida) cleaning out my deceased mothers house. Old and musty and in addition have been clearing lots of old brush in the field. This is the fifth day of a headache from hell that was in the sinus area. I have no more fever which went as high as 103.6. I took the phosphorus last night. I have no other symptoms. No sore throat, no swollen glands, no runny nose, nor blocked nose. Just this awful headache which now has moved from my face to around the side and back. I have been using steam with silver hydrosol nebulizing with silver hydrosol taking quercetin, selenium, and various other supplements and also taking Advil to have a little relief. Any information would be helpful. I can’t function like this any longer. Thank you, Laura
Hi Robert, I have a concern about denial work. I know you did a show on this, but I can’t find it. Could you let me know where and when it was on?
Thanks so much,
Iceland is broadcasting the world’s screams to relieve coronavirus stress People around the world are finding different ways to relieve stress during the coronavirus pandemic. Some have tried running, gardening, doing puzzles, cooking — but what about screaming? Promote Iceland, which encourages tourism to the country, is encouraging people to scream to relieve pent up frustration. And even if you can’t travel to Iceland to do it, you can scream into your device and your voice will be broadcast throughout the empty Icelandic countryside. A website for the ad campaign shows yellow loudspeakers playing the screams of people from around the globe in front of peaceful scenery like glaciers, caves and waterfalls. A button at the top of the site invites users to join in with the phrase, “Tap to scream.” “You’ve been through a lot this year and it looks like you need the perfect place to let your frustrations out,” Promote Iceland says. “Somewhere big, vast and untouched. It looks like you need Iceland. Record your scream and we’ll release it in Iceland’s beautiful, wide-open spaces. And when you’re ready, come let it out for real. You’ll feel better, we promise.
Looks like you’ve been through a lot. It looks like you need to let it out. It looks like you need Iceland. Record your scream from anywhere in the world at https://t.co/sTLs7Fafhi and we’ll release it in Iceland. You’ll feel better, we promise! #LetItOutIceland pic.twitter.com/YFoZeMIMNi

They Don’t Know What They’re Doing: The Vaccine Paradigm’s Shaky Assumptions As the endlessly reassuring pronouncements about high-risk Covid-19 vaccines indicate, vaccine scientists are nothing if not confident. Underlying their overweening confidence is a paradigm that has remained essentially unchanged since vaccination’s inception, notwithstanding seismic changes in vaccine technology and vaccine schedules. This paradigm narrowly evaluates a given vaccine’s effects against the target illness but pays little (if any) heed to vaccinated individuals’ overall health or to overall mortality. Adherents of the prevailing paradigm also display a surprising lack of curiosity about whether vaccines have different impacts on boys versus girls or whether the sequence and combination in which vaccines are given matter. Individuals who teach the scientific method have pointed out that a scientific paradigm represents a “lens” that can be “recognized by the set of assumptions that an observer might not realize he or she is making, but which imply many automatic expectations and simultaneously prevent the observer from seeing the issue in any other fashion.” The authors of a July 2020 commentary in Lancet Infectious Diseases (titled “Vaccinology: time to change the paradigm?”) make this very point, arguing that decades of vaccine research not only have failed to address important inconsistencies but also contradict many of the assumptions that drive global vaccine policies and programs. As one of the authors (Danish scientist Peter Aaby) stated in 2019, “most of you think that we know what all our vaccines are doing—we don’t.”
‘Anti-vax’ labelling and the mainstream media: Who is coordinating this? International vaccination policy is being manipulated to develop massive vaccine markets. It’s time to throw a spotlight on conflicts of interest, and identify who is behind the demonising and censoring of people who question vaccination policy. Is the highly conflicted Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation shaping the media’s reporting on vaccination issues? This article published in February 2013 provides some interesting background on the Gates’ historical influence on the media, noting that in 2012, the Foundation gave out $25 million in media grants the previous year, which was less than 1% of the organization’s budget. In regards to biased media, see for example this article in The Guardian which includes references to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Children’s Health Defense, and Stop Mandatory Vaccination. The piece points out to readers that “Anti-vaxxers’ influence and power could affect Americans’ willingness to take a Covid-19 vaccine, experts warn.” Note that The Guardian receives funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which is driving “the race” for coronavirus vaccines. This is yet another propaganda piece attempting to discredit and marginalise people who legitimately question international vaccination policy and the burgeoning number of vaccines being added to international vaccination schedules. People with valid concerns about vaccinations are labelled “anti-vaxxers” and are described as being in the “anti-vaxxer movement” in a manner that seeks to marginalise them in broader society and to alienate them as “untouchables”.
Mask mutiny: 60% of UK adults refuse to use face covering at bar, restaurant; 10% wouldn’t wear even if law They’re uncomfortable, they’re hot, and they can make talking a tad more difficult. There are plenty of reasons people give for disliking their face mask. Yet most still wisely wear them as none of the reasons trump having protection against COVID-19. Despite the health benefits, a new poll out of the United Kingdom finds more adults are getting fed up with face coverings. Some say they won’t wear one even if it becomes law. A survey of 2,000 British adults reveals six in 10 people refuse to wear face masks in a bar or restaurant, regardless of government health guidelines. A third of the poll believe wearing a mask has become unnecessary and over-the-top. Another 13 percent now call face coverings “pointless.” “They will take a bit of getting used to, as they can be uncomfortable, particularly if you are a glasses wearer, have a skin condition, or are particularly sensitive,” says Ashley Mealor, a spokesperson from Vision Direct, which commissioned the research, in a statement. “There are lots of reasons why it may be difficult to get the whole of the general public to embrace mask wearing… But as other countries have demonstrated, this may become necessary to fight the pandemic once and for all.”
