George L. Bell, my father, December 3, 1937 – January 22, 2009, in memoriam…

Some of you may be wondering why it’s been a bit quiet around the Robert Scott Bell Blog this week.

The inevitability of the circle of life has brought my dad to the end of his cycle of life.

My father passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2009 around 1:30 AM EST. I am saddened by my loss and for my children who miss their Grandpa George. Also for my sister and her children and my father’s sister. He was well loved by many as he brightened every room he entered with laughter and a childlike view of the world that could not be diminished.

He is a true “free spirit” who could not be tethered to any one place for too long. When it became apparent that his physical body would no longer cooperate with his need to float through life freely, he knew it was time to go.

It is sad for those left behind, but I take solace in the fact that he is in a better place floating freely, spreading laughter, as he did so well on planet earth.

My father’s memorial service will be Sunday, Jan. 25, 2 PM. Visit with family at 1 PM. Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd., Roswell, Georgia 30076 (770) 993-4811.

Thank you for your prayers and good wishes. Yes, I am taking homeopathic Ignatia.
